Who think that Lava Barf Eruptor is a unnecessary character? He's my favourite skylander but they removed his pow wow (he's without his spikes on his body) and added a new move (I think) that allow you to blow up lava? Seriously there's secondary ability that allow to blow lava. I want a series 3 ghost roaster instead of eruptor. Sorry my English.

Agree with you. But it doesn't matter. Eruptor is apparently a "favorite son" of the Skylanders' developers/marketers.

All of the reposes are unnecessary. The one extra move wasn't worth it last time, and it won't be this time as well. If they don't unlock DLC with the reposes I'm guessing Activision's sales for these will be primarily limited to people just starting the franchise.

I for the life of me can't get why they don't get it by now. Or, maybe they don't care smilie

Camo repose was somewhat needed
I am not buying a triple pack to get 2 multiples (Warnado and Ignitor)
O and notice Warnado has a Lightcore this game so he will be MUCH more common (lightcores the far as the eye could see o.O)
Besides any of the "forgotten 8" needed reposes
S2 Ghostroaster/Boomer/Sunburn (Not so much sunburn)
And any others need reposes next game (Expecially Voodood/ghostroaster/Boomer but I have VD already)

Yeah and not only is there Lava Barf Eruptor, but a dark variant that I'll end up with on day 1 from the 3DS pack. I guess at least they are making the decision on whether to get S3 Eruptor easy for me as I'll at least have the 3DS one. It's almost not a bad thing that they have him and Stealth Elf and even Spyro in starter packs for Swap Force. This way I won't have to stand there in the store for an hour beating my head in over whether to cave in and buy a S3 version. The decision is made for me... meh. Obviously I would still prefer new characters. Just looking on the bright side.

id love to see skylanders 4 be about koas winning and capturing spyro, trigger, gill, eruptor, chopchop and stealth elf. The core landers need to be saved and you play new guys and some others.

No, Volcanic Eruptor is a Volcanic variant. They could make more variants like this.

Am I the only one to be bothered by having a reposed Skylander (Stealth Elf, Eruptor) in the starter packs, instead of a new core character?
Last time, I was able to avoid buying the Portal Starter Pack, with S2 Cynder, since I already got it from SSA.
But this time I'm "forced" to pick up a character I don't really want.
And this annoy me a lot.

When I said he was dark I was talking about the fact that he's pitch black, not referencing the Gamestop bundle. Why would you think that there is going to be a new type of variant valled "volcanic", anyway? Volcanic Eruptor is just a clever name for the dark version of Eruptor as far as I'm aware. Sort of like Punch Pop Fizz. Punch Pop Fizz is not a "punch pop" variant. He's a red Pop Fizz.

What about them? If I called Jade Flashwing a green variant of Flashwing, would the forum explode at me? There is some kind of issue here where I can't even use basic English words to describe Skylanders without having to explain it.

I've expressed exactly how I feel about Eruptor. Does anyone else want to talk about Eruptor or are we going to engage in more obsessive-compulsive nitpicking over whether a black Eruptor can properly be described in more ways than just "volcanic"?

let's see... 1. the varients with special names like "Volcanic Eruptor" and "Punch pop fizz" is really just a special variant that exclusive to them... Dark Spyro was the only exception... but I doubt we will be seeing any "Punch Flashwings" or whatever. Plus, unlike the others, Dark Spyro really had a story to go with it... as well as the Legendary ones... but if I'm not mistaken *though I could be* the other variants are nothing more than a recolor that the game acknowledges. They don't have back stories, unlike the Dark and Legendary Variants.

2. Back the topic, I don't have a eruptor because honestly... he's not my favorite in the slightest. I mean I'm probably at the point where if you give me a skylander I'll use him/her but in terms of who I like and who's neutral? Eruptor's neutral.

3. as for him being in the 3DS starter pack... honestly, It's more of a 'eh' kind of thing. True I'd of loved a different Skylander but since i don't have Eruptor yet, it works for me. If I did allready have him... well then I'd probally be a little more wishing they choose someone else. However, I have to admit I'm a little disappointed... well I was hoping that a swapforce would be the 3DS special variant, but didn't get that... didn't get it in Gaints either.... And I'm also a little disappointed that they broke their pattern... and that was that the first 2 games the special variant was a magic type... but on the plus side.... atleast we don't have 2 of the exact same Skylanders as the console has.... in fact we don't have any of them that are the same... so that's a plus in my book since I'm getting both a console and 3DS version.

So in conclution, do I think the Volcanic Eruptor is a bad idea? No, after all I like have special variants instead of the norm *especially because I'll have a Skylander my nephew doesn't smilie*. Do I think that Volcanic Eruptor was the best choose for the 3DS version starter pack? Doesn't bother me. So it's fine the way it is.

as for the series 3 thing... Honestly, i think just the outfit change is good enough for me to want to get one... almost like a variant. But I'll still probally refrain from getting Skylanders I allready have... unless, I like the skylander *example: Stealth Elf, Chill, Dark Spyro* or it happens to come in a triple/multi pack and I want 1 or both of the others Skylanders/items in the pack.

Honestly, I think reposes as a whole are redundant.

It's cool how they're changing them up with (for the most part) outfit remakes in SWAP Force, but that's just glorifying them. They're still the same as in Giants- few will have actual game-changing abilities, and the majority will just be upgrades that make a certain attack a bit more useful or usable. smilie

I have to say, though, I think Big Bang's Wow Pow will be inferior to the S2. I can only see it being used as a dash move(which, admittedly, might be quite handy since Trigger Happy isn't the fastest), but using it as an actual attack won't be a good choice unless it does really, really huge damage. Charging into a bunch of enemies as Trigger Happy is basically committing suicide and handing your dead self to them on a silver platter, thanks to his low HP(not even the 42-damage Heads or Tails is a great close up attack, it takes a bit of time to lob a new one). [They have tweaked some old HP values in Swap Force, so maybe this issue will change]

MegaBlast! already does really good damage(if you keep spamming it, you can deal a lot in just a few shots), and can be used from fairly long range. It also has a good AoE, unlike Big Bang's Wow Pow seems to. It's a useful and fun upgrade to an already great attack.

Unless his new rocket move is really, really, really good, it will probably just feel like it makes him move around faster in the levels and get a few uses against enemies that could be dealt with just as well using another attack. I love the design of this move(riding around on a rocket is just awesome...), but I think I prefer the S2 from what we're seeing.

Yes, and I can't see buying it for one stupid additional move when I have acres of reposes for these guys that work just fine. NOT putting the money where my mouth is. They need to fix this in my mind, or stop doing it.
