Come to think of it we did store pickup (of stock on hand) and when we got there I remember checking skylanders and not seeing A single one. We did get ours at the pickup spot, I wonder if they just never put the rest out?

It's a *guess*, but I'd say it's possible that the stores with the *huge* numbers like that are ones that were miscounted. My thought is that someone scanned the MHD barcode, then entered a count for the total number of figures they had onhand at the time. As I said, the list isn't a guarantee, but if you're looking, those might be some good stores to check.

Some of the info could be right. In larger walmarts it's possible the items are misplaced in the store room and never hit the floor. I came across 2 glow in the dark sonic booms today that my guess were in the back room somewhere or someone did a past 90 days no receipt return. I'm going call one of them by me tomorrow and see if they actually have/can locate the one left in stock. I wouldnt mind an extra molten as i prefer him over regular

Idk if they are in demand per say, but I haven't seen one in the 7 walmarts by me ever, besides the one i saw yesterday and it was not sealed well. In fact I bought mine in PA cause I NEVER saw it around me.

I happened to be in the KINSTON NC store and they didn't have Molten Hot Dog. Unless of course it was in the back. And I know the TRYON ST CHARLOTTE location has been a bust on those for a while. It was only one so probably got moved or hidden somewhere in the store.

Any store that has 1 or 2 in the system probably either had it lost, stolen or the cashier rang it up wrong (say a customer had another Skylander with it and the cashier just rang it up twice instead of ringing up both). The stores that have a lot is a surprise. I did see a store that had a bunch if then about a month or two ago (way after they had disappeared). Could it be possible these stores just have them sitting in the back and never put them out? Especially if their pegs are full of the other Skylanders.

Sort of, When I saw the length of the list I didn't bother looking, because I know I'm not in there. I would guess this is an American-only list, I'm in Canada.

And I already have Molten anyway, there were a TON, at least 30, when I got mine when he first came out.

I checked Rt 27 Edison NJ Wal-Mart a few days ago and they did not have him that I could see, so I assume someone nabbed it now.

While the effort applied in compiling this list of Wal-Marts is definitely appreciated, it's not very realistic that most (or possibly any) of these stores still have Molten Hot Dogs in-stock.
I remember going to a Target store in early 2013, and inquiring about Granite Crusher. Their computer database showed a half-dozen stores within a 20-mile radius that supposedly had 1-to-3 Granite Crusher still in-stock. None of those stores actually had any. If merchandise is stolen, damaged, or hidden (by an employee), then it will still show as in-stock in the database, even though it's not really there in the store.

I can personally attest that the Tryon St location in Charlotte and the Tega Cay location in S.Carolina do not have any Molten Hot Dog in-stock, and I think it's safe to assume that's the case for the vast majority of the store locations listed above. However, just scanning the stores list for trends ... it looks like there's an inordinate number of stores listed that are located in Arkansas ... Given that Arkansas, in general, is very, umm ... rural and not particularly modern or wealthy, I'd say that MAY actually be where there really could actually be some Molten Hot Dogs still in-stock. If I had to put money down to wager on which state might still have Molten Hot Dogs, that's where I would guess, based on the info in this thread.

Anyone in the forum here actually located in Arkansas (and have a car that's not up on blocks in the backyard)? :-)

Here's a thought I had earlier that I posted in another thread in a discussion about SKUs and finding inventory at a store. I got a bit confused about which topic I was on (since they both had to do with finding inventory) so I thought I'd repost it here for some possible clarity.

Walmart and most other stores doesn't even have price stickers, not less the SKU numbers and with the millions of items that they carry, they aren't going to take the time to find out. So it's highly possible that those stores that are showing 100+ Molten Hot Dogs (which I believe no store ever got that many) might actually be 100 Flashwings

While most of the regular Skylanders have the same inventory code at retail stores, store exclusive variants, like Molten Hot Dog (and Granite Crusher, as I mentioned in post #32), typically have their own special unique inventory code.

Which is why obidawsn wisely pointed out that if the inventory crew "doesn't understand the differences", scans the Molten Hot Dog package, then counts all of them, it will throw the numbers off.

If you spent more time actually reading people's posts and less time cracking jokes about people less fortunate than you, you might have understood that.

That's a cool list, but beware of Uncle's disclaimer. If your store says "1", you will likely never find it. Your best bet is to check in the toy section, sometimes they get stocked there and forgotten. Most likely a kid put it down when their parents told them "no" in the dog food section and it got covered up by something that doesn't sell much. I would imagine the ones that have 12+ involve a dust-covered box in the back that fell behind something and won't be discovered for years. Or as mentioned, maybe outright theft.

Ahh, gotcha, Seiki. Well, without any offense intended to our Aussie friends, unfortunately it doesn't sound like the "Warehouse" is very accessible as a resource for folks in the Western Hemisphere.

Well, in Iganagor's defence, the title of this thread is "Who still needs Molten Hot Dog?", which resulted in a USA-only list. This might have been intended as "Well, if you still want Molten, and you aren't in the States...", filling out the gaps better.

Pretty sure I've heard (on hear) of The Warehouse being a chain in Australia, or if not, then in the UK.

I'm fairly certain that only a handful of stores on that list may *possibly* have MHD, but even saying a handful seems like way too many. I can account for two of the stores in TN not having a single one since a few months after release. As for the Walmart online inventory checking, I've found it useless. Multiple times I've gone in looking for an item on that the site tells me is in stock only to find out they don't.

What would be interesting is see if we can get an inventory number on other Skylanders at the stores that show they have a lot of Molten Hot Dog (especially those over 100). I wouldn't doubt that it would be a low number, zero, or even a negative number.

Ah yeah, that's true! It is possible to have something at negative stock and actually be in stock. I just wouldn't recommend anyone check their store unless the stock looked to be really high, or if the person really liked hunting.
