Then he asked to his local EbGames, (He's Canadian like me) and the guy said

Do you really need to stop and consider whether or not a Gamestop employee is spewing straight BS? Instead why not first think about how many updates for the Skylanders games that have added new characters/skins have been released in the past 2 years? The answer to that is also the probability of this faceless employee being correct.

There is no update for Skylanders Giants nor will there ever be. When a game like Skylanders is done, it's done. The employee probably didn't know what he was talking or he just didn't want any problems.

However, it is possible for Pumpkin Eye Brawl to appear as an in-game variant in Swap-Force yet it's probably too late in development to add him.

He is misinformed. The lead platform for the Giants is the Wii and up until this point, they try to keep parity on the platforms, so kids can take their figures to friend's houses and have a similar experience (ie the characters looks the same, acts the same). The Wii is also the most popular platform for Skylanders, as I recall. The Wii does not support game updates at all, even Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword had a game breaking bug and their solution was a free app that would "fix" your save game, rather than a patch. Their Wii infrastructure simply does not support it.

However, the WiiU and other platforms *do* support updates. Swap Force for the Wii is being developed separately from the mainline so they can support the greater capabilities of the HD consoles without being anchored by the lowest common denominator. Whether they patch or not is an unknown, although I would personally like to see bugs fixed this time if they are discovered. They at least now have a path forward for patching. They may choose to not do it though, because patches can be expensive - and they still have the problem of not doing things for the Wii. Given the option, I definitely wouldn't go Wii for Swap Force.

A video does not make it so. Activision can't be bothered with serious game impacting patches...why bother with this?

I'm not interested in figures that aren't in game variants so I haven't bought one. Maybe for SSF, but I doubt it for Giants for patch reasons listed above.

Oooohhh...he has a Chuck Norris shirt on...better not mess with this guy. Btw, since the main RFID chip for character is the same, I expect him to also look like regular eye brawl in Swap Force.

Keep in mind we have precedent that Swap Force DOES NOT RECOGNIZE toys marked as "SPECIAL"(see Bronze Hot Dog stats video)...so I don't expect it to happen there. Since we have stuff like Legendary Chop Chop unable to complete quests in Giants that needs a fix...not sure why Activision would "rush" out to do this. This would be an unprecedented customer service move for them, which is why I say the probability is zero point zero.

In short, Gamestop doesn't know what they're talking about. Unless Activision says anything (and really, when have they EVER say ANYTHING about ANYTHING?) this aint gonna happen.

The Gamestop guy dosen't have a clue...look at the package...of all your in-game variants packages, the artwork on the background looks like the Special painted variant in the package. Pumpkin Eye-Brawl will look like the regular Eye-Brawl in Giants...always....there are no updates/patches...whatevers, they are focusing on there new game Swap Force. Now wether or not it will change from standard Eye-Brawl to Pumpkin Eye-Brawl in Swap Force....only time will tell....but i doubt it....for the reason i stated above.

I think the Game Stop employee (or someone along the line) SAID "update to Giants", but meant that Swap Force will be more 'updated" than Giants. Swap Force having him in-game is the most anybody can hope. It seems unlikely, but it's at least physically possible.

And I think I heard that he isn't even listed as "Special" in the game, suggesting what GhostRoaster said, that the data on it is identical to regular Eye-Brawl, meaning that it's likely that no game will ever be able to tell the difference, meaning he can never be an in-game variant, even in Swap Force.

I don't think it can be put into Swap Force because I believe that the data for his figure simply tells the game he is another Eye Brawl just like any other. That's the most likely way that they handle figure-only variants. If he were ever going to look different in-game they would show him looking different on the package, as someone else said. The GS employee probably told this guy that to get him to go away because he was harassing them or something.

Pumpkin is pretty much exactly the same as Purple Eye Brawl.
This is obviously a GameStop employee's way of tricking you into buying him.

It's really important for people in the younger generation today to wake up and recognize that anyone can post anything to YouTube, and the overwhelming majority of statements made in YouTube videos are personal speculation at best, or lies, at worst. Please don't use YouTube as a factual reference for .... well, anything.

It is not just the younger generation, it is prevalent in older folks too. I can't count the number of times I have Snopes'd someone who sent me an email or a link they were certain was accurate. Something about having a slick (or even clunky, see Drudge) website that makes people gullible. They just don't realize how easy and cheap it is to throw up a website or record a video.

^ good point, Defpally. I did not mean to imply that the failure to recognize factual validity vs. glorified opinion is isolated to young people. It's just more common there ... since many teenagers and very young adults right now were raised in an era where they didn't experience a time when/where YouTube and Google weren't everyday resources in the USA.

either he thought eye brawl was from spyro's adventure (what ???) or he meant swapforce.
Some gamestop/Game/EB games employees are nice and smart but others are clueless individuals in themself.

Ok... it'll not be in giants but maybe in swap force!!! Did you saw the skylanders dad video? an interview with a guy from VV and dad asked if glitter hot head, purple eyebrawl and P. Eyebrawl will have an in-game variation and the guy from VV said *there's some possibilities!*

Oh almost forgot...finaly got my Pumpkin Eye-Brawl. They finaly got stocked in my area. Found atlest 4 in all the different stores...TRU, Walmart, Target and Gamestop.

I'll entertain that this weekend. I'm interested in seeing the id for Purple Eye Brawl vs. Pumpkin. If they're the same, then it's not gonna happen. In short, I don't understand if there's a "special" flag somewhere on the rfid chip. There is some data that wasn't completely analyzed.

^right, my guess is that Violet and Pumpkin are going to have all the same coding.

Because if they can't be bothered to do an update for the Lightning Rod Heroic and the Weapon Master glitches in SSA, why would they bother to change the skin of a character for SG?

No offense but can anybody just WAIT until the game comes out to see if there is a difference or not? Its not much of a surprise if we know all the little details of the game. Patience is a virtue. I think. Lol. But I can understand everyone wanting to know so they think its cool enough to buy but I bought it anyways not caring whether its "special" or in-game.

Sure we can do that...I think we know too much already

It's confirmed no patches are coming, so we know if the skin isn't there "out of the box" you can hang it up.
