You already posted a picture of your set of Eye-Brawl toys, judas. We get that you hoard them, but you don't have to keep posting them and showing them off. Also...I don't think a photo update from 5 to 6 of the same figure...is much of a status change. It is a bit of "rubbing it in people's faces." If you have a fan that is rooting for you to increase your hoard-imo-send them a pm.

I've seen many chase variants but they were all WERDS. They were at my Walmart for about a month so I thought they were common and didn't get one...

I don't know what is right but I use chase variants when talking about figures like the purple wrecking ball, the silvers, gold, glitter, etc. The onea that come randomly in boxes. I use variants to describe different versions of figures and are much more readily available to purchase like werds, jade flashwing, scarlet ninjini, pumpkin eye brawl.

That's correct, anybody calling something like WERDs a chase variant is simply wrong.

It is important, to some degree, that we all use the terminology consistently. To that end, I agree with Shelly (and most users here, I think) ... "chase" variants are unadvertised variants ... and that's different from "store exclusive" variants.

I ignore the chase variants, they are not worth it but I always get the in game variants, I only get toy variants if I find them, and the only ones are the store exclusive, Blue Bash, WERDS, GITD Sonic boom.

I find I only need two terms, because I really don't care how rare it is, either you have it or you don't. When I'm writing on here about variants, I don't care if it's a store exclusive or not (except for trying to find it), if it appears randomly or is shipped explicitly (like Pumpkin Eye Brawl). The only difference I draw in variants is whether or not they appear like that in the game. So I (and MANY others) use "In-game variants" and "chase variants". Yes, I know, that's not what "chase" means, but that's the closest term we have available, especially since I think all ACTUAL chase variants are ones that don't appear in game that way. The "proper" definition of "chase" would leave out Pumpkin Eye-Brawl, and I think all the GITD guys, I want a term including them. Since not everybody uses "chase" the way I do (and the ones who don't tend to complain about the ones who do), we do need a universally accepted term for it. The thing is, "non-in-game variant" is too clunky to use or catch on, as is any other term I can think of. And the "proper" definition of "chase" doesn't need its own term anyway, "rare" suffices.

I keep thinking I should start a Terminology thread and list all terms and acronyms which are uniquely used about Skylanders - or are used here maybe for the first time for people, like "chase" and "variant". Something like that should even be a part of the site, not just a thread.

And i agree with Seiki...the more you add, the more it ticks me off ....from other kids finding them. And i to Seiki have never seen them in stores....would like to know how the devil you keep finding them?
