I don't know if this has already been covered or shown in gameplay but I was wondering, will the giants still have level features dedicated to them? I mean things such as the feats of strength and the lifting boulders etc.
Will these things be returning so there is still a purpose for giants? Thanks

I dont think so since the giants wont be shipped as much.
Maybe a few pickable boulders that arent blocking anything but nothing else likely

We've definitely seen blocks with the Giants icon on them.
Also, some devs mentioned Giants serving some purposes in the game. It's kinda nice they're rewarding Giants owners, I wonder if they'll keep some Giants in circulation. Pumpkin Eye Brawl might be exclusive to Swap Force...

This was something I asked at E3 and was met with a sly smile. I would say that the gameplay screenshots with Tree Rex's head is indicative that it followed thru.
I don't think they'll be vital to complete the level, or progress thru the game, but I would venture to guess they'll help access special areas or perhaps items like hats etc. I for one am glad to see the feature return as it is a nice nod to the Giant cast...It kind of keeps them in their element and serving that special purpose void. In other words, just having that scattered thru the game keeps the Giants "different" than the regular Skylanders.

We asked at the SwapForce-Gamescom-Presentation for it and it was said that there'll be some Giants content, for example those blocks which were found in the level that was playable. They unfortunately didn't exactly say what kind of content there'll be :/

I always thought the blocks were like that just so it showed "yes, you can use a giant to push this block". Maybe this is similar to how using a Giant in SG meant you could sometimes find a quicker way to complete a puzzle using a Giant. I doubt it'll actually unlock any additional content, since that would limit people being able to get that content if they stop shipping Giants.
Or, it could unlock content that doesn't matter? Like give you access to a small area with a selection of treasure lying on the floor, but not actually a treasure chest that counts to the progress of completing a level 100%. |

very nice if they respected the Giants concept in Swap Force...definitely helps on playability and exploration aspects. Oh, and those needing to sell Giants in stores

I spoke to a marketing person for Activision (albeit in Australia), and she was of the opinion that the while we know that you will be able to play the giants figures in swapforce, the focus really will be on the swapabilities and new characters. So there like previous people have said, there maybe be giants accessible areas, but they won't be crucial to completing the levels.

I actually interpret that comment as "your giants will work in Swap Force but don't expect Giant areas". Bummer.

I heard that Giants will be able to open special Treasure Chests in Swap Force. So, we have at least 2 functionalities, for them.

It would be awesome if they opened special treasure chests (or something similar) as it would be like giving people a little bonus for having bought the Giants and being a fan before SSF.

Assuming that Giants will remain on sale, much the same as SSA stuff has, I would expect SOMETHING for them in Swap Force, otherwise there is little draw to pay more for a giant over a normal figure or instead of a Swap Force figure.
It probably won't be much, but there should be something. A tiny hidden area under a jump zone or boulder that has a treasure chest or just a load of money would be my guess. |

All wrong I watched a you tube video and no giant reposes, no boulders, no walls to knock down.

There are blocks for Giants, they have been seen in various game play videos. You'll probably be able to push them and then unlock a little area with something inside. However I think it'll probably be a selection of gold or an alternative reward for sticking around with the series but not something that people who don't have Giants will miss out on like a new hat or legendary treasure. |

Kinda disappointed there wont be new giants or have a main feature in the game but I'm glad you can still use them maybe I'll use my gnarly tree rex for this one. On the other hand, no more $15 purchases on them. Course swap figures aren't cheap either. How much will a single swap figure cost? Cant remember.
