I'm always looking for Skylanders I don't have, and so far I only want SSA compatible ones. So far, the ones I don't have are Boomer, Wham-Shell, and Sunburn. With Wham-Shell getting a LC soon, that can help, but that still leaves Boomer and Sunburn. And I have not seen Sunburn anywhere.

However, today I went to a video game store, and there he was, the one and only BOOMER! And there was a second Boomer too. When I saw him, I felt like I just had to buy him. ...Until I saw the price: 28$, which may be a steal compared to the 70+ dollars you'd spend getting him online, but is still more than I'm willing to play. Plus, Ghost Roaster's almost as rare and I managed to find him for FIVE bucks. If I could buy Boomer for FIVE bucks, I wouldn't think twice about it, but not 28$.

Has anyone seen Boomer go for less than 28$?

Try to haggle with the person selling Boomer then. Maybe s/he'd be willing to budge on the price a little bit, since it's a used item.
However, be realistic though. If the seller has Boomer marked with a $28 price tag, then you can be sure s/he knows Boomer sells for $25-$35 on eBay and elsewhere. There's no way s/he will accept a $5 offer from you.

The only places I've seen Boomer for cheap this year are on Craigslist, and you have to be very diligent, very patient, and very quick. To be honest, if you really want him badly, your best bet is simply to shell out the $30-ish on eBay. If possible, go for one with excellent photos and a Seller that has an excellent reputation.

Japanese sellers might be cheaper. Dunno how much it is to ship from Japan, but I doubt it's more than the price of the item (namely boomer would cost something around 10 dollars to ship, but I could be wrong, it could be a lot less).
So if you can find a buyer in Japan, you may be able to get Boomer for maybe, I dunno, 20 dollars? I haven't imported any 'landers from Japan, but there are users here who have.

I saw a Boomer once at a store in which they were selling it for $8. They also had a handful of other common SSA characters in which they were instead selling them for $10 each. If only they had known...

Seeing ghost roaster seems to be reappearing as some are saying, boomer could I guess to but prob in his triple which will cost you $25 before tax anyways. So $28 might be what you need to do or at least try and get him down to $20.

I don't believe single boomer is out in japan yet, their wave one only had the triple.

Well, when he is out, you can bet he'll sell like cosplay supplies (in Japan :P). Best to see if you can have someone pre-order him for you.

While on vacation I was scouring the Craigslist ads for the area and found somebody selling the Spyro game along with a lot of 8 figures for $45. One of the figures was Boomer. I contacted the lady and offered her $15 for the single figure which she was cool with. She may have accepted less for him but I wasn't going to low-ball her. She probably didn't know its worth any way.

Yes, couple of years ago when he was at the store for 7.99.

28 bucks isn't bad....you should have bought it. Do you know how rare he is ....im glad i got mine when i did...because i have never seen another one here where i live. And yeah Japan is going to have him once they reach that wave level....but won't the text when you put him on the portal will be in japanese? I already know the cards are in japanese.

While discussing about the price for boomer, this might be off topic but mugourth just want to point out that if u are looking for figures that will work on SSA, lightcore whamshell will not do... U will still need a whamshell from SSA.. Lightcore doesn't backward compatible with the SSA game.. Hope it help ur collection..

??? .....Ahh... my Lightcore Drobot, Prism Break and Eruptor work just fine in SSA....the Lightcore name an the glowing in game isn't there but they work just fine in the first game.

The lightcore effect will not work, but the character should work fine. The statement "lightcore doesn't work" really depends if that character appears in the previous game or not.

I haven't personally tested myself of my lightcore on SSA mainly because to busy playing the newcomers.. But on the box package itself it says not compatible with SSA and that is lightcore eruptor, drobot, hex, prismbreak... They are all from SSA..

That's so no one can sue them for false advertising. Yes they work, but the light core feature does not. Since they are selling them as light core characters and not all aspects for the character will work in SSA, they say they do not work so people don't expect them to light up in the game.

Ow thats something new that i learnt today i will test it on my SSA...

Boomer sells in the UK, anywhere from £12-£25 (roughly $19-$39) but one of your best bets is either somewhere like craigslist/gumtree etc or trying to win an auction on eBay. Both of these methods require patience but are the best ways of getting a cheaper Boomer. Chances are that you won't find one in a store below that $28 mark and if you do then you are lucky (or they've started shipping him in again )

I've alluded to this many times in other threads here.
Lightcore Drobot, Eruptor, Hex, and Prism Break ARE compatible with SSA for gameplay. You just don't receive the "light bomb" AOE damage effect when the character ports into the game when using them in SSA.

Same thing applies to Legendary Stealth Elf, Ignitor, and Slam Bam. They ARE compatible with SSA, but they just appear in-game in SSA as their regular colored character (not the legendary colors).

I didn't have the money at the time.

I saw sunburn the other day at my target (I live in sacramento)
but for boomer I say the lowest is 60$ for a used one (Unless you get lucky with craiglist)

Only way the text in game will be Japanese is if your playing a Japanese copy of the game. All the figure does is tell the game which one to load and store your states etc., language etc is based on the copy of the game.

Examples are many of us on this forum bought scarlet ninjini from germany and polar whirlwind from italy (i myself included in these). Both of these work fine in an american/english version of skylanders. Both are english etc.

I actually showed up and work. I just set an alert from http://camelcamelcamel.com/ on Darklight Crypt for under 30 and forgot to take it off when I finally found one. I got an email and checked what else he was selling and saw Boomer for 4.99 listed. Shipping was 3.99 for each item so I got Boomer for 8.98 I didn't think I would receive any of it but it came and worked.

This is also the same way I got Zap.

Well I thought I did pretty good getting the triple pack with boomer for about $33. IIRC I had already got one of the other characters in the pack but a friend bought that one.

I also got Darklight Crypt at a small games shop for $29.95, just before Christmas.

It is possible that boomer triple could return, I mean how many thought we'd see darklight crypts again? The triple also does have 2 of the lost 8 so ya never know.

I think the big difference here is that Adventure Packs never stopped distribution. They definitely slowed, but never stopped.

Meanwhile, triple packs of Series 1 characters definitely stopped distribution many months ago.

Im aware of that but darklight stopped and i believe restarted due to the Japanese release. If we go with that theory they could re-release boomer triple as a limited re-release. You never know. Im sure they are aware of his rarity, the question thou is it worth it for them to do so.
