They most likely received a box of 6 and the employees got their hands on the other four. GS employees get first picks and if they take them all, you're just out of luck.

Available for trade: NIB Walmart Exclusive Drill Sergeant (Not Red), NIB Granite Crusher. PM if interested.

Unless they put cameras in the storeroom, and they would have to be put in all different places so they couldn't be blocked and beable to see every corner of the storeroom...say in the ceiling..and ones the employees even the manager dosen't know about(because even some managers are in on it), only corporate knows about. And making them internet viewable so they can be turned on at anytime.
I don't see this being solved.

They could send a message to all these stores, telling them that customers are priority, and if they take one for themselves, they will.. be demoted..? Not allowed to touch them?

Demoted? Not allowed to touch? Not much incentive.

Fired immediatly unless they come in and buy one while off duty.

That's something I'd expect a corporate to do. Where I work, I could get fired if I don't ask every customer if they want to use a certain credit card.

I heard an employee tell me this: a Clear Stealth Elf was being fought over. Employee VS. kid. Kid wins and employee is fired.

They should enforce this rule with every company, even GameStop for removing variants from boxes.

Yes, the kid wanted to play with it, while the employee just sees two $100 bills in the kids hands.

Isn't working at a Gamestop pretty much a demotion in of itself smilie

I was at my local Sam's Club yesterday and on a pallet underneath the shelving where Skylanders are kept, there were 12 boxes of all Scarlet Ninjini (6 in each box). Most of the boxes were still sealed, but a couple were open so I took a peek. None were out on the shelf.

I disagree with you guys. It's a perk of working at a place. I understand why I don't find any chase variants, and I'm at peace with that. These people are making minimum wage, usually. If they find one, let them have it. I'll live. I'm not entitled to it.

Consider as well that those "Chase" variants are only worth as much as you collectors are willing to pay for them. There would be a lot less variants being snapped up by employees if they weren't worth so much profit on ebay.

Here's my take:

These chase variants are meant for the collectors....to chase...
As a store that sells this product, I want people coming in often to check the supplies. Gives my store the chance to build a relationship with this individual and each time they step in the order, perhaps something else may catch his/her eye.

If no one ever sees chase variants in my store, because my employees swipe them before they see Open-Sign-Light, then collectors will catch on that this is not a store to hunt in....moving on to a Wal-Mart or Target or TRU where maybe there have been chase sightings.

Overall, it may not be a big deal, but as a store manager or higher, I would prefer to see these get in the hands of long-term customers.
Maybe I'm wrong, though...may be plenty of managers who see a dollar as a dollar regardless of who's wallet it comes out of.

I didn't mean to re-kindle the debate about chase variants by my post to a topic which had been dead for a few months. I just made my post about what I saw yesterday to impart that if anyone was still looking for Scarlet Ninjini, they may want to check their local Sam's Club (and if they aren't on the shelf, look for boxes under the shelf). I picked this topic to post the info. because of the title.

My friend used to sell sports cards wholesale. One day he caught several of his staff searching the packs for the rarer cards and removing them before they even made it to the stores. He fired them instantly.

I've never seen a chase variant once at any store and I go in many different stores frequently in various areas. Not necessarily looking for Skylanders but usually for other products but I always swing through the Video Game dept. I'm sure they never hit the shelves but it doesn't bother me.
