would love to have those clears....never found any around here where i live. Heck just a few of them would be nice...not greedy...i don't need them all ...lol

They're painfully impossible to find.

I got lucky by going to ToysRUs every week after Christmas, and they pulled Stealth Elf out of a box.

Eruptor, Dino-Rang, and Boomer were planned to get Clear variants, but they were scrapped.

Yeah i know...truly the only ones i would like to have is Stealth Elf an Stump Smash....yeah i know stumpy wasn't made into production...but he just looks COOL!

Altho getting some chips that have the "Series 1/2 Special" part when you put them on the portal would be WAY COOL!!

I don't know if it's been contributed to this thread, but here's one of the prototypes of Spyro... In Legendary form. It's a picture from the Skylanders Collection Vault app that was also used on the original Legendary triple packs.


Also, I think the original LightCore Pop Fizz deserves a spot in a post on a thread about prototypes. I mean, he's on the Giants poster.

The face on Spyro looks really bad but the paint job looks sweet! I like the shine.

Many come from Taobao.com, which is basically "Chinese ebay" without the auctions. (if you want to learn how to buy from there, there's plenty of guides)
Most of the time it's just slightly flawed or unworking toys (nice for customs), but sometimes you find unpainted toys which can be neat. It's kinda hard to prove what's really a prototype and what isn't unless it's distinctly different from the release toy so I personally refrain from calling everything from there a prototype.

Err.. no. Most of them are just normal factory defective figures. Either horribly painted, badly deformed, or broken figures make it there.

An early CG render of Sunburn. Looks like he was going to have a crown and slightly more detailed beak. The base is almost final except for the buckler (small shield) by his foot. I personally like this hand pose more than the final toy.

It seems that a lot of people in this thread don't understand what prototype means.
A chinese bootleg figure is not a prototype.
Anything that comes from China is a bootleg. Seriously.
Unless you have a connection with someone from ACTI/TFB/VV, you aren't getting protos.

So.. Every Skylander in my house is a bootleg? I don't think so.

ALL Skylanders come from China. None of these are bootlegs, we have a Toys for Bob employee to back it all up.
