I know that it is possible (apparently) to switch one's pre-ordered pack to the Dark Edition one for $25, but how would one do it? I pre-ordered it when I got the e-mail, so that means (I think) I pre-ordered it from Amazon.com; I thought the Dark Pack was Gamestop Exclusive. How would I switch from the Amazon pre-order to the Dark Pack in Gamestop?

i originally pre ordered at toys r us. but when i heard about the dark edition, i pre ordered that at eb games. Hoping i can get my $5 back at toys r us, or put it towards some thing else.

The reason it is $25, is because GameStop makes you put down $25 whenever you pre-order a Special edition of a game. I had to put down $25 when I pre-ordered KH Dream Drop Distance's special Edition and it only cost $55.

My gamestop said it is mandatory for preordering anything 100$ or more

Just cancel your Amazon pre-order. If it hasn't shipped yet (and it hasn't), you should be able to cancel on Amazon.

As for the $25 down payment at GameStop, just pay it. Yeah, that's more than what most retailers charge for pre-orders, but if you end up deciding not to buy whatever you pre-order, you can convert the down payment to store credit for something else.
