Can we safely say which figures didn't make the cut so that we came come up with a new "forgotten 8" type list? Here is what I have...
Slam Bam, Drobot, Ghost Roaster, Boomer, Hex, FlameSlinger, Wrecking Ball, VooDood, Double Trouble, Dino Rang, Bash, Fright Rider, Zap, Sonic Boom, Lightening Rod, Drill Sargent, Camo, Zook and Shroom Boom. So we now have the "forgotten 19"? Not to mention the 8 Giants figures. That would then bring the total to 27. Did I miss anyone? Are there still slots available for characters that I have listed?
Also, does anybody know if the old Adventure Packs will work with the new game?

Stump Smash, Zook, Camo, and Shroomboom still have a slot available.
My list comes out to: Drill Sergeant Drobot Boomer Wrecking Ball Voodood Double Trouble Hex Fright Rider Ghost Roaster Slam Bam Zap Ignitor Flameslinger Sunburn Sonic Boom Lightning Rod Bash Dino-Rang And 3 of the following: Camo Stump Smash Zook Shroomboom I get 21, with the 8 Giants, then it's 29. |

Well you could have different categories for them say, the lost 4 since there are still four from Spyro's adventure that didn't get anything. As for the others, 12 got reposes, 2 were left behind from giants, and the giants....
And there is still a Life slot left so Camo might be in this.....

I totally forgot about Stump Smash and Ignitor. That is a heck of a lot of figures not making it to the next game! I have to give props to Activision though for allowing older that we purchased 2 years ago to still be able to be played on the new game. With all the crap we give the company for their marketing schemes personally I think it is pretty cool that they still take the time to program each individual character that they have ever released into each game they make. I am sure the backlash from the consumer would be huge if they didn't, they fact that they do is pretty cool to me.

Bit off topic, but weebbby, is the Fire Skylander in your avatar by any chance Smolderdash?
Anyway, yeah, I think that's all of them. It's the Forgotten 21, but maybe some day they'll bring the older ones back. Soon we'll find out who the other Life Skylander is!

Yes, that is Smolderdash. If Shroomboom gets the final unknown spot in the Swap Force line-up, I'm gonna leave a flaming bag of dog crap on Activision's door step.

^ exactly.
Although Activision seems OK with releasing a 5th version of Spyro, a 4th version of Trigger Happy, a 4th version of Gill Grunt, and a 4th version of Cynder. I really hope they do not opt for a new Shroomboom ... I actually would lose some respect for the franchise if I see a Shroomboom with a blue bottom/base. A fresh Camo figurine would be sweet, and Zook would be cool, too. As an aside, I'm seeing some reports that there will be a Lightcore Wham-Shell among the new Lightcore figurines ... anyone have any knowledge on this?

The current forgotten Skylanders -
Sunburn Boomer Ghost Roaster Camo (could come back for Swap Force) Voodood Dino-Rang will soon be joined by - Tree Rex Ninjini Crusher Bouncer Swarm Eye-Brawl Thumpback Hot Head Shroomboom Fright Rider And now, certain Skylanders from SSA and their Series 2 versions, will join the forgotten list. Better grab them while you can, because we may not see them again until Skylanders 4 or perhaps even 5. Those characters are - Double Trouble Wrecking Ball Bash Slam Bam Zap Ignitor Flameslinger Drobot Drill Sergeant Hex Sonic Boom Lightning Rod Zook (could come back for Swap Force) Stump Smash (Could come back for Swap Force) Then you even have Lightcores that are about to permanently go bye-bye, along with the 8 Alter Egos. So, you have a lot of characters you won't be seeing around for upwards of 1 to 2 years maybe. Pretty crazy, that we won't be seeing a lot of the characters we've grown to know for the past 24 months, when Swap Force releases. I personally think, they should always make each unique Skylander available in some form, for the late bloomers.

Good post, GameMaster78.
I'm curious about something, and am wondering about others' thoughts on this ... Last winter, around the Holidays, is when my kids were first introduced to Skylanders. I distinctly remember being at Toys R Us, overwhelmed by the gigantic massive display of Skylanders figurines, and at the time I had absolutely NO idea about which characters were good, which were lackluster, which were rare, which were common. I knew nothing. However, what I do know is that back then (December 2012), the TRU display had lots of Series 2 characters in support of the (then) new Giants game ... but they also had a humongous display of Series 1 figurines, too. Do ya'll anticipate that Series 2 characters are really going to be phased-out soon? Or do you anticipate regular availability of Series 2 stuff through the end of 2013, despite the presence of newer Series 3 merchandise?

I think that like SSA figures, almost all of the figures will be phased out. Notice how everytime you go to a store, the only Series 1 figures you see are -
Stump Smash Whirlwind Ignitor Double Trouble Flameslinger Drobot with the occasional - Hex Prism Break (not so often) Sonic Boom Stump Smash Wham-Shell (very rarely; at least around here) ? Well, they seem to be deadlocked on sending what is now boxed as SA(W7), which is wave 7 single packs for the first game, while also sending out the same 3 Adventure Packs. If Activision were smart, and really wanted to cut into some of Infinity's thunder, they would still cycle through Spyro's Adventure characters every now and then, and then Giants characters, that was they can always make sure customers get what they need. So, as of now, I fully expect that when Swap Force releases, they will still release some Giants singles, but it will be the same wave over and over, with no changing of characters. At this point, I plan on them to stop sending out Giants (which would be insane), and possibly stop sending out Spyro's Adventure singles out altogether. I could - and hope to - be wrong. If I were in marketing for Skylanders, I would pitch the idea that Activision buys up enough Space to not allow Infinity enough space. In doing this, I would have pegs for the current game (in this case Swap Force), while keeping 2 pegs for the Giants (6 to a box; 3 for each peg), 4 pegs for Giants single packs (8 to a box; 4 for each peg), 2 pegs for Giants Battle Packs (6 to a box; 3 for each peg), 2 pegs for Spyro's Adventure Single Packs (6 to a box; 3 for each peg), 2 pegs for Spyro's Adventure Adventure Packs (6 to a box; 3 for each peg). At the same time, I would alternate between 2 waves for Giants packs - Wave 7 - x1 Swarm x1 Hot Head x1 Eye Brawl x3 Ninjini Wave 8 - x2 Thumpback x2 Bouncer x2 Crusher while alternating between 2 waves of Giant Single Packs, assorted into boxes of 8 - Wave 6 - x2 Fright Rider x1 Double Trouble x1 Bash x1 Ignitor x1 Drill Sergeant x1 Sonic Boom x1 Stump Smash Wave 7 - x1 Shroomboom x1 Wrecking Ball x1 Flameslinger x1 Drobot x1 Hex x1 Lightning Rod x1 Slam Bam x1 Zook and releasing one case of Battle Backs at all times - x3 Dragonfire Cannon (for Chop Chop and the Cannon) x3 Scorpion Striker (for Zap and the Scorpion Striker) Followed by shipping out a case of the forgotten Skylanders from Spyro's Adventure - Wave 8 - x2 Boomer x2 Voodood x2 Dino-Rang And lastly, I would ship all 4 Adventure Packs at all times - Wave 6 (might be 7) - x2 Darklight Crypt x2 Dragon's Peak x1 Empire of Ice x1 Pirate Seas Now then, the reason I didn't list Camo, is because there is still a chance of him being in Swap Force, so that would leave the forgotten life Skylanders as being Stump Smash and Zook. With this configuration, a customer will never be left out, if they were to jump right in starting with Swap Force. They would get each of the unique Skylanders, plus 4 Location Items which not only unlock 4 chapters in the first two games, but act as magical attacks in Swap Force. The customer would also be able to catch up on getting all of the Magical Items released for the first two games. It's a win/win for the customer and Activision. Customer can get one of each Skylander, Location Item, and Magical Item, while also focusing on building their current collection (Swap Force). This also helps Activision to sell more toys, as people are still in the market for harder to find figures from Spyro's Adventure. This also brings more money to the mold of said retired figures. Molds do cost money, so why not keep the cash flowing towards certain molds? This helps keep people up to date, so they won't feel jipped and think to buy into the next brand (Infinity), in whatever act of spite each customer chooses to harbor.

Gamemaster78 ...what about people like me who started buying into the game...knowing they wouldn't release more later....that's what sparked my interest... And keeps me hunting... Because if you don't buy it when you see it...you'll buy it on eBay ( sucks but I have had to buy a few from there).. Would also mean all that hunting was for nothing if everyone could get them at anytime!

I hear what you are saying. I've done the same thing on some of the older figures but unfortunately it is the risk we take. Nobody ever said you would be rewarded for all the time and hard work you put into a game. I think it would be cool if there were re-releases of older figures that there was some way to differentiate between old and new.
