It was a competition for a kids magazine called K-Zone. We are going to a session in Sydney. I can only think they are doing this now, 2 months ahead of release, because they want to show off a bit BEFORE Infinity hits the shelves next week.

Oh....and there is probably little point in trying to send a card all the way from the US. It is on on Saturday, so probably wouldn't make it in time.

Make sure you record your kids playing the game. And post em on YouTube. Then post the links on this topic.

"Next Day" + "Australia" I think translates to 3 or 4 business days anyways. Only Southern California people have a shot of overnighting a card in time (with the advantage that it should be light, and therefore cheaper, and somehow light seems to send faster). Or Hawaii would be even better, IF there are Targets and IF they have this promotion.

Also, people don't seem to be understanding... With a preview thing like this, they'll almost certainly have to sign an NDA, that stands for Non-Disclosure Agreement, which in layman's terms means "I won't tell any secrets I see or hear here today". Since this is a promotional event there may be more flexibility, in order to PROMOTE the game, but it seems likely she might not be able to take video and/or pictures, and if she can take them, she might likely not be allowed to share them. A couple of months ago I saw a thread on here where a guy got to tour Toys For Bob with his kids, and afterwards he said "Here's the pictures I CAN share", making it clear he took plenty of pictures, but most would break the NDA.

This looks like a huge Christmas wish list for the one kid that gets to visit Santa at the North Pole...

They announced all the new Swaplanders but not all the new "core" Skylanders from what I have seen..? The numbers of announced toys for the game and names we have don't match up.

At some point during the stealth, you turn into a tiger while running around attacking enemies, then we your turn back to normal, you do a kick.

Correct that is exactly what happens

Ok......not much to report.

It wasn't a hugely hyped event. There were 6 consoles set up and about 30 kids in each session, so required some rotation. They only had PS3 and XBOX consoles (some issue with Nintendo meant that they couldn't have their consoles....though they had wanted too).

The game played was only a 2 level demo style version.

Characters that were there to play with:
Ninja Stealth Elf
Wash Buckler
Magna Charge
Hoot Loop
Blast Zone
Free Ranger
Countdown
Roller Brawl

My kids are much more familiar with Wii and Wii game controls, but they adapted pretty well, particularly the 8 year old.

My 2 year old tried to abscond with Wash Buckler (his fav) and I had to tackle him. After that I think they were keeping a close eye on the figures to make sure they didn't loose any!

Parent's review: Not too sure about the longevity of of Ninja Stealth Elf. I'm a bit concerned with her standing on just one leg. If she snaps (and the leg is only a bit thicker than Hex's arm) you will just be left with a foot. At least Hex is still Hex - armless or not!

Load time for characters is a little longer than Giants. Each time you swap in a swapforce character it show's 2 screens - one for the two elements of the character, and the other the character itself and its name.

When characters run out of power - not able to get a real good handle on this. We had one character (swap force) run out of power, they played another for a bit, and then needed the actions of the legs of the character that had just needed a rest. Swapped it in and it worked ok with almost full power. Didn't get to check it out enough to be sure of what needed resting etc.

Kids were given a bag at the end containing a Molten Hot Dog (we already have him), a K-zone mag, a Skylanders Spyro's Adventure digital watch (very cool but still too big even for my 8 year old - though I do breed them skinny!) and a bloody awful sour bubblegum that had us all spitting it out of the window of the car on the way home. (and that is something I would never do! It was truely terrible!)
At least I have some skylanders that they don't have already stashed away......I can give those to the kids and find new homes for the 2 molten hot dogs with friends or presents for birthdays.

I asked an Activision marketing person about some of the rested characters. She was hinting at further games down the track, but was indicating that she was lead to believe that those characters that have been rested (like Boomer) will remain rested. She also thinks that although the Giants will work in the SWap force game, that they will be primarily focused on the giants game, and that there will probably be no further giants released under the swapforce banner.

Hopefully she was wrong about Boomer..i like Bommer . And that also sucks about the Giants...was hoping they would make more Giants.
