Please don't laugh, this is serious.

The US flag is on the moon, but not to how that we "own" it.That was to show that we were the first there. However, some people think that we should have the legal rights to the moon. However, we aren't the only country to visit the moon. So the question is:


Should the moon be divided into territories, with each belonging to a certain nation or government?

Moon should belong to the moon. We should only worry about this when we get advanced enough that we can live on the moon.

We don't need moon wars. It would the impression that people on the moon fighting are aliens invading our moon.

People really want control. People also want to expand. Well, most people.
I also don't like the idea of them taking over things but it's likely to happen. I can see some sort of discussion or a fight over the moon.

The moon is very mineral rich, and if this keeps up, we may one day be using it for natural resources. Then, territory will become an issue.

Why aren't we doing it? People ask. Well, it's not because we don't have the technology, because believe it or not, we actually do. The problem is, it's not economically feasible right now, we can't really afford to mine on the moon.

Honestly I think we should just leave the moon alone. It is a lot smaller than our planet and putting a bit of men up there to mine can do thing to it. And the results can be catastrophic against our planet. Plus we still have plenty of minerals here. So, why go around planet to moon just for stuff you can probably find or re use on your planet? Let the moon no man's land.

We should use it for emergencies only. Otherwise, leave it alone.

The fact the moon centimeters away from Earth every year makes this arguement odd to me ._.

I actually used to have nightmares about the moon falling ever since I saw the 2002 movie the Time Machine when the Moon blew apart. Funny that the moon is actually receding from the earth... I think it would be really cool if we colonized the moon but maybe too risky. Then again, we did detonate explosives on the moon like just last year.

and we cannot colonize the moon there no air or anything but i herd in cnn news during school one time that in year 2020 i think some there launching and expedition to mars people wanna colonize mars since it does have life but it became a frozen place for the microscopic creatures to evolved into something and also moon stay were it stay :I no touches the moon cheese X3

No, we don't. Our ecological footprint is far too big, we're draining the Earth like a bathtub. At some point in time, we're going to NEED to use the moon unless we can be wiser about our resources here on Earth.

even then, what could happen? what if there was an emergency? what if colonizing the moon did something to the moon we didn't think could happen? since colonizing a foreign planet hasn't been done before, we need to list all the possible consequences. you never know what could happen.
