I suspect Spyro will DEFINITELY get it, and the variant can be found in the Triple.
I agree, spyro would look cool.

I'm thinking Lightning Rod, Spyro, and perhaps Jet-Vac.
Though I'd prefer if Stealth Elf, Spyro, and Cynder got it.

I hate to steal one of your quotes (paraphrased) and not that I doubt this, but... "I hate it when there's no proof posted." ;-D I didn't see Chris confirm this as available in a triple pack and haven't been able to catch a glimpse of one on eBay, current or closed auctions. Link? Photo? Or were you saying that you suspect that the variant can be found in the triple? If the latter, please excuse me stealing your phrase. :-D -Doug

I don't, but based on how people pursue the single packs over the triples, I figured that seeing/getting one in a triple pack would be much more likely. Still a sliver of a chance of obtaining one, but a multitude of times better than ever seeing a single pack. -Doug

So I posted this before but it was the last message on the page so I think it got lost in the shuffle---but for those people that have followed chase variant releases in the past---I wondered if you could answer a few questions....
Once there is one "sighting" how long until we will see a bunch on eBay? Has there ever been a triple pack rereleased with a vatiant? Are there about the same amount released of each chase Variant? I'm assuming that one should look at TRU, Target, Walmart, & Best Buy. Right? I missing somewhere? I've never known about a chase variant when it was released so I'm going to try to look. I'm doubting I have much of a chance at all but hey, if I don't try I have 0 chance! Thanks all~~~~

What I do know: Yes, there have been triple packs with variants. Silver Eruptor, Gold Flameslinger, Silver Dino-Rang, Clear Stealth Elf, Gold Drill Sergeant, GitD Warnado, Stone Whilrwind, Stone Zook, Glitter Sprocket, Glitter Sonic Boom, and Flocked Eruptor were all in triples. No, I once saw an explanation from Matteo regarding the S1 clears saying that Cynder is the most common of them with the 3 clears each being released in different quantities. As far as I know, check everywhere EXCEPT GameStop/EB Games.

The price will go down, but honestly, I can sell it selling for about $300. The White Flocked Skylanders were going for around $200 to $300 at first and has since went down, so this one will too.

You're one to talk. You can't seem to let others state their opinions such as UncleBob. Anyways, he should be able to state his opinions in a way that isn't as rude as "THIS LADY IS A **** SCALPER AND HAS NO LIFE". Just because she scalps doesn't automatically mean she has no life. Take a look at Hoarders. You can see who has a life and who doesn't there.

You know, I just went and searched for this phrase on this and the other thread and it is not there (not from Bahumut, someone else did say that). The closest thing was them being referred to as a "low-life", but that is very different from "no life". You cannot just insert or change the meaning of a phrase and shove it in someone's mouth. And if you quote someone, you should quote their words or specify you are paraphrasing (so people can know you are adding your own spin to it). UncleBob wasn't denied an opinion, he (like you) just changed the whole meaning of something that was said, then debated the altered meaning. That is dishonest, and the reason it was countered.

Why does this back and forth rhetoric happen so frequently? I know it's hard not to respond when you feel slighted or misunderstood. (I can totally relate) But is it worth your time and effort? Nobody seems to change their positions or understand each other better. It's also not really about Skylanders. If someone says something stupid or offensive--that compels you to respond, would a PM be a better more productive option? I know I'm new and I don't pretend to know all the answers--it's just my 2 cents.

Because when someone posts something to accuse someone else it should be countered in public. Because most of the time things covered in private never see the light of day, particularly if the person is argumentative.
Let's say, for example, I call you a "poopy pants". You send me a PM and we argue some. The only thing others can see of it is that you are a "poopy pants" and no one speaking up to say you are not a "poopy pants". So then people might assume that it is valid that you are a "poopy pants". And I can revel in the fact that the last word on the subject is that you are a "poopy pants" and nothing to refute it following. It also tells me their is no public shame in calling people a "poopy pants", so eventually everyone is calling each other "poopy pants". So in other words, you either deal with a little resistance and debate now or you deal with trolls that later feel emboldened that they can get away with it. Honestly, there is practically no news going on for Giants right now anyways, the purple variants and giantkicks being the high point recently, and those have been beaten to death. I'd rather read a hundred UncleBob posts than another "HAY GUYS, YOU THINK I MIGHT GET MY SIDEKCIKS IN LESS THAN 10 WEEKS??!?" post. But you see, what I do that the self appointed thread police do not - I skip the threads that do not interest me. Everything you need to know that is known is available on the first page of this thread. Don't click next page if you don't want to. And besides, does anyone truly want to read a forum where only topics with a laser like focus are discussed? Some of the most interesting conversations occur when the topic wanders. |

One other thing, and I think this bears highlighting, is that many people mistake disagreement for hate. It is not the same thing. I, for example, have disagreed many times in the past with various people but that doesn't mean that I hate the person. I've argued with Gamemaster before, but I think he is a cool guy that has done quite a lot for the people of this forum, and have learned many things from his posts. I've disagreed with GhostRoaster before, but I've met him in real life and he is a great guy - we actually went in on a deal for a combined shipment of LC Hex, and I got him some Giantkicks bags from a store near me. I wouldn't do that with someone I didn't like. I imagine that others are similar in their feelings. Debate is a healthy part of an active forum, otherwise why not just have a blog with comments disabled?
The only people I do actively hate are the people that use this forum to scam, take advantage of people or for scalping purposes. We've had a few of them over time, and they were pretty much run off by the whole community. |

Defpally--I see your point--I think it's reasonable to want to
counter something someone says publicly --publicly. I understand--and there are good points made--it's just that it seems futile, and although the topics change slightly, it's the same situation. Please understand I'm not trying to insult you at all. If doing the same thing over and over has the same results...then isn't it a waste of time? I actually enjoy-especially with certain people--a bit of friendly verbal sparring--but that's with people who listen to what I am saying--as I do with them-and we both are willing to accept responsibility for being incorrect. So again please understand that my motive with my posts is not negative. I respect you and your points. It'd just be nice to "see" this happening less.

No, not really a shame. It would be boring if it was just that. It would be like reading the Spyro Wiki, or the official Facebook page (and when have you learned anything interesting from that?). It would also generate a ton less traffic, my wife used to be on a forum that used heavy moderation. All it does is drive people away, and not just the ones you want driven away. Of course you don't let people be abusive, or trade personal attacks - but people don't frequent sterile forums.

So ... in the same line of text, you insinuate that I shouldn't be allowed to express my opinion, and then immediately accuse me of being someone who doesn't allow others to state their opinions. Sure ... sounds legit. To be perfectly clear, it is not my responsibility to let or to not let others state their opinions. If that was my job, then I would allow everyone to state his/her opinion. However, if someone posts a dumb opinion (see here: //forum.darkspyro.net/spyro/viewposts.php?topic=82352), then I'm probably going to call him out on that. If someone posts an unintelligent and inflammatory opinion (see this guy: //forum.darkspyro.net/spyro/profile.php?user=13009), then I'm probably going to call him out on that, too. That's my nature. If you don't like that about me, I'm OK with that. I have a highly logical and organized mind, and it irks me when people slip into illogical or irrational mode, or when trolls take comments out of context or twist the words for their own self-indulgence. Again, if you don't like that about me, I am OK with that, too. It is my firm belief that, on the internet, in the absence of important communication modes (voice inflection, volume, and tone; facial expressions, hand gestures, body language, etc.), many people allow themselves to automatically assume that anyone who speaks out must be "mad", jealous, or sexually repressed. I am none of these things, in general. In other words, when you read my post, and you're tempted to believe that I'm feeling belligerent, jealous, or pent-up ... stop. Think for a second before passing judgment too soon. It's far more likely that if I'm calling someone out for being a dumbass, then that's all I am doing. I don't hate that person ... heck, I do not even really KNOW that person. All I know is that he's acting like a dumbass, in that moment (or in UncleBob's case, repeatedly over time), and I'm calling him out on that. I don't harbor resentment or malice for UncleBob or anyone else on an internet forum, period.

Funny that this would come from the individual that went across three different threads, accusing someone of being a scammer with ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE (unintelligent?) and making derogatory (inflammatory?) comments based off of a few of their faceshots on Facebook.
