That is so cool---they made the SSA, Giantz style. Love the Japanese writing. Yikes--could be really neat to add a set of the Japanese figures to collection. Anybody know if there are purchasing options from US, price, and maybe bundles?

I mean, sweet, can't wait to get my hands on some. Typical, Asian skylanders announced right when I'm going to visit a country that does have them...

I'm wondering if those side bubble comments still communicate you can play skylanders on the web (roll of the eyes, looks sadly at Universe's tombstone).

so only the REALLY HARDCORE skyfans are going to collect these. Who's gonna do it?

As for the figures, those new boxes are pretty awesome. I'm surprised though...the first ones we see are Wham-Shell? Warnado? Are they doing the releases backwards or something? Hey! Maybe we could swap with Japanese players who want super rare figures like Stump Smash and Stealth Elf!

Probably so, since SG still has them. My guess is they don't know WHERE to take online skylanders---the removal of Universe without a significant replacement speaks volumes.

In terms of sales, I suspect if they are doing well that we'll see some type of announcement on their stock symbol. I'm very anxious to have someone who has this version (and has the version in the states) chime in on their opinion.

If your asking then it should be because when i got my from Italy, it was speaking english when i played it on my english PS3.

If you put a Japanese Skylander on your portal right now it will show up and sound just like any other Skylander you have ever put on your portal.
They will sound like whatever countries console/disc is being used.

For example, an NTSC-U disc is made for a USA console, a PAL disc would be for Europe, and an NTSC-J disc would be Japan/Korea. An NTSC-J or PAL disc will not work on a U.S. console UNLESS it is hacked/softmodded/chipped. I can play an NTSC-J disc and find out what they sound like in Japan....IF I could just get my hands on one, or even an ISO of one.

The disc has the data on it ie; what it looks and sounds like.

The figure has data as well, ie; who is on the portal, what level, how much coinage, in-game variant or regular, etc... Figures also supply code for the console to grab data from the disc. For example: I put Prism break on the portal, and the console receives binary code that states (more or less) "Run the Prism Break intro (using data from the disc) and load all info for the figure now being controlled on screen into RAM or HDD from the game disc". (load Prism Break) Therefore, doesn't matter which country you are in, all figures use the same binary code, the CONSOLE and DISC determine what to do with it, that's why figures are universal and cross-platform.

The console just uses the data from the disc and the figure to process the data and put the images/sounds/response to button pushes on the screen.
