They are like finding a needle in a hay stack. I have not seen them since February.

I got the whole set for $1 at a local swap meet on the weekend. Maybe you could try you local ones.

What's a swap meet?
Also, Sam's Club and Best Buy seem like the best places.

The first one I picked up at Target in February (mind you I was new to Skylanders and didn't really know what DLC was), this Target was outside the city in a huge outlet mall. 45 minute drive, we were there for other shopping reasons, just so happen to come across it. There were 2 on the pegs, I grabbed one.

My second one was on Craigslist last month used but worth it.

The way I look at it is you have many options to get DLC. It really depends on how determined you are and how much you are willing to spend. If you decide to buy Darklight Crypt new online chances are you will be spending more than retail. If you decide to drive everywhere looking for it chances are it will cost you in fuel.

You are in the right place for guidance and help, as this site has really helped me on my quest for Skylanders. Maybe someone will see this post that has an extra they want to get rid of. Either way good luck.

Unless you want to look for the rest of your life, the only place you're going to get it is eBay. For ME, it's not the effort to go to countless stores to see if they'll stock it. Activision has clearly forgotten that they even have this adventure pack. Now, having said that---watch them be available EVERYWHERE this summer. I'm kidding, but that's usually how my luck goes.

The boxes the APs come in only carry the other 3. Not sure why when there's a total of 6 per box--but that's what is happening.

There have been several topics in this forum about the Darklight Crypt over the past month or so.
The answer remains the same, for now:

They are EXTREMELY rare to find on the shelf in a retail store. Not impossible ... just crazy rare.
Best bets are Target and SAM'S Club, in my opinion/experience, but even at those locations, it's incredibly rare.

There's a reason why people are paying upwards of $80 for a new Darklight Crypt pack on Ebay ... demand is wicked high and supply is scarce.

You should try Target for a first try when looking for darklight.

Good thing I got Darklight Crypt when it was widely avaliable.

Sorry to bump an old topic but I just found two Darklight Crypts at a Target in Dublin, CA. They're going to two of my nephews. So they are still out there.

^ same i got mine Darklight set loose on craigslist with cards and stickers for $20 but finding a new one in stores is more exciting

I kick myself everytime i see a topic about this. I literally say in Jan a TRU outlet with over 20 of these and I only got 1. If i had known how rare this would have been Id bought them all up for ppl etc.

And, being the Great Equalizer, wanted to say that this is like winning the lottery...so don't EXPECT to find him...just consider it very lucky if you do.

I just went to Walmart today and found every adventure pack except Darklight Crypt.
I haven't seen it for months.

i found it on sale at a site!

I think most of us haven't seen it in a store for well over a year now.

That sucks all I need is ghost roaster and wham shell to complete my SSA collection

Aussies can look on Gumtree, it makes an appearence quite a bit, but people will be paying a bit for it since its so scarce on shops.

I got mine in March of this year at a Superstore in Canada. Got the staff to open the boxes on the floor. They had 3 DC and 3 Pirate ship one. That finished my collection of adventure packs. I wish I knew that they were rare at the time. I would have picked them up and sold them at cost.

I just got mine on craigslist for $40, sometimes you'll find rare skylanders on craigslist for great price just like how i got this darklight crypt for great price and on ebay they sell for over $150 or more.

it's beat up, but still a value at $40.

^ yup still cheap for $40 when the price for brand new on ebay, amazon, toywiz is like over $120. I thinking of opening it and give my loose ones to my friend.

I have local stores in my city, that when they get ANY Skylander figure used, they sell it for 4.99, no matter what.

I've seen a Volcanic Vault at this store for 4.99, Boomer for 4.99, Darklight Crypt Location Item for 4.99, but they also sell ALL Magical Items for 4.99 a piece. The only thing they sell for more, are Giants, and they go for 5.99.

None of these have cards/stickers, though. However, it's still a good value.

I actually went to a second-hand store like GameMaster mentioned yesterday and was able to get Time Twister and Magic Elixir for $4.99 a piece.

Still on the hunt for the Darklight Crypt level piece and Ghost Roaster.

^ just remember that what a seller asks is not what they always get, especially on Ebay. Ask too much for an item and it'll never go anywhere.

Last one I need for s1. Should have got it when it was going for 50 on ebay but now the bids on Ghost Roaster go over that. I've came across the pieces for under 10 but passed since I mainly want Ghost Roaster. I've been bidding 75 for it in the package for the past 3 weeks and have been outbid each time.

I think I'll either get lucky at a smaller store/flea market or craigslist on someone selling a bunch of skylanders and it being in there. I'm going to San Diego Comic Con and if I find one of the shelf for under 100 then I'm just going to buy it like that in person since it will come out of my trip money anyways. I only seen Skylanders at like two booths last year though.

I know as soon as I buy it for a high price then I will start finding it everywhere for much cheaper.

You could buy say the Power Ranger Morpher that's going to be there and trade/sell it for money for darklight. Only 1000 being made so ya.
