People have been asking Dark for a chatroom for a long while, and it's never happened, though I can't remember if he's ever directly said no to the idea, but ignoring the suggestion is usually his answer. At least as far as I remember.


And I believe Dark's rule is not to have a conversation on the game page or spam it with off-topicness, so if you want to talk to someone about the game (having a full conversation with another person about what they think of the game, or something like that), I would think he would prefer you to take it to the forum, guestbook, or PM. I've never seen that as a big deal though, and I may be wrong about that, I'm just going by what he said on the bottom of the gamepages. I think the gamepages have been much worse before, like when Skylanders was first announced for one. There are people who use it as a chatroom, but that's always been the case at times, at least ever since I've been here. People used it as a chatroom during DOTD's time as well, me being guilty of it before joining. I wouldn't really be completely against the closing of the pages, it might do some good and encourage people to take these matters to the correct places, or for all I know they could just try to use the forum as a chatroom, but I suppose that's where mods come in. I hardly look at them anymore, so I guess it's just not as big of a deal to me as it used to be. I can see both sides to this, I guess. From the looks of it, Dark hasn't paid much attention to this though.

Yeah...

I don't use the gamepages anymore, so I wouldn't care much if this was implanted or not.
Last times I checked though, a lot of the conversations were completely off topic, like the topic states... Especially the people complaining about Skylanders on every single page except for the Skylanders pages.

I only use the gamepages to see if Dark posted new info. I almost never go see the comments because they are so annoying.

I remember when gamepages were actually relevant. It was nice to see people's comments, thoughts, and even some secrets on the game. I'd hate to see them closed, since it's been a part of the site for so long and I really did enjoy them. I feel like moderator's powers (even if it's only a few of them) should be extended to cover game pages.

Though, a possible pro to having gamepages closed is that it might direct more users to interact in the forums (especially if a link was provided). The gamepages are still active, but not their forum counterparts.

^Disabling the comments would direct the users to use the message boards, where their off-topic, chatroom like discussions can be monitored by the moderators.

There's not really a reason to, as they are not affecting anyone negatively.

Define "anyone", Brav. If the kids continue to use the game pages as chatrooms, then the moderators should have the ability to monitor the gamepage comments and delete any off-topic discussions that isn't even about the subject of the page itself.

I'll ask again, as you did not explain before, how is this effecting anyone negatively?

Some users, including myself, find the chatrooms on some of the game pages being out of control and they aren't monitored for any discussions that can be disruptive or off-topic.

No, it's not. It's just a darkspyro issue that dark has overlooked for some time.

You seem to really want the pages locked, but then you say that mods should be able to overlook them. I'm not trying to stir up an argument, I'm just confused.

I'm saying that if disabling the comments isn't a good solution, then the mods could maybe have their powers expanded so that they can moderate the comments being posted on the game pages.

Some users didn't even know the forums existed and they used the game pages for chat. Not that it's a bad thing.

The game page comments can be used to talk about the game in subject, but they aren't meant to be used for conversations.

I didn't know there were forums until I became a Green Sparx, and I never used the pages for chat...
