Since this is, in essence, what has become of the "Spyro" franchise - I need to ask:

Would you prefer there to be more dragon Skylanders?

In Spyro's Adventure, there was one of each element. In Giants, on the other hand, we only got one new dragon, and in Swap Force, we've yet to see a new one.

Do you guys like that "variety" is being given precedence over dragons, or would you prefer a little more dragon in your Skylanders?

I know I'm really disappointed not a single one of the giants was a dragon.

What do you guys think?

First off, how would the giant dragon work? Would it just be like an enlarged version of one of the dragons we already have, or a humanoid dragon? Though for the humanoid dragon, I don't think that is something Activision would do.

Actually, he's a puffer fish/bat. We know it's a puffer fish at least because of one of Portalflip's videos where Guha Bala was talking about some of the figures shown at E3's attacks, and popthorn's attacks is where he sucks in air and becomes all puffed like he is.

How it would work would depend entirely on its element and design and so on. Beyond that? It would probably be an original character, like any other Skylander, except well, a dragon. It doesn't need to have anything to do with the other dragons, or it could very well have been just a big version of one of them. What I'm saying is the potential was there.

Really, I still can't believe they DIDN'T have one. Just goes to show I guess.

Which is why we need a dozen different elves?

Obviously that's an exaggeration (at least right now it is), but it's going to be a sad day when they amount of elves outnumbers the dragons.

And who says they can't be creative with dragons? Just looking at the elves (and dragons, including the ones that didn't get reposed) we have now, I'd argue they've been plenty creative in reusing species.

I love dragons more than any other mythical creatures. Flame and Ember should return as a Skylanders.

If they do that would be the best thing in the would since I personally call flashwing a lizard and dragons are my favorite animale and seeing one is always a great addition. Camo is the ONLY grass/plant dragon ever (Not even Pokemon did this)

Rayquaza wasn't a grass type.

Yeah! I'm all up for more dragons. Though I think Fire Kraken is a chinese dragon, to spite having "kraken" in his name. Either way, more dragons (at least a few more anyway)!

Fire Kraken may have been based on a chinese dragon, heck, his design shows it all.

Me 2 and bulbapidea no grass dragons and I like grass and dragon types and I feel upset

Yeah in the videos they said Fire Kraken was based off the Chinese dragons, and he has a power using a dragon.
I always love more dragons, but I wish they also filled out all of the elementals.

I actually kinda like all the humanoids VV is making. I'm not much of a fantasy fan, so I don't mind the lack of fantastical creatures as much.

My issue with humanoids isn't so much them or the amount if them - its the fact that 90% of them are elves of some kind.

I mean, look at Ninjini. She's already a giant ninja genie - was it truly necessary for her to ALSO be an elf

YES! The dragons are what initially sparked my interest in Skylanders in the first place. I'd love to see more. Can't get enough of them really. It's disappointing there was no giant dragon, but at least Burninator has a fire-breathing dragon-head hand.

I also really like the elves. I've always really liked elves. I'd love to have a full elemental set of elves that could double as a D&D-style party.

Me too... actually, these chapters are somewhat long, like 15-30 minute depending on if you want to get everything. 12x15= 180 minutes... wow you're right that really isn't much... but that doesn't include grinding and upgrading, and Adventure packs might come with multiple levels.

Well a giant dragon would look weird gameplay wise. I still hope we get at least one for Swap Force that is from the water element with ice powers.

I'm actually really excited for the chicken in Swap Force. What was wrong with Jet Vac?

I want another fire dragon, I know sunburn was one but still he has more of a Phoenix look to him and I LOVE that they made fire kraken but he is on two legs..........and he has a weapon............I still want him but HE NOT MAGICAL ENOUGH

I know this isn't the right topic for this, but, I just felt like putting it somewhere. An idea that I thought of is like this: You know how here on Earth the dominant race is human? Well, I thought that maybe in skylanders the main race is elves? That would explain all the elf skylanders.

While that might make sense, I think that spot is pretty clearly taken by the Mabu.

Which then begs the question as to why not one of the little runts manned up and became a Skylander themselves.

My answer to the OP: Perhaps... but even better would be if Spyro acted a big more like Spyro, and less like Fire Dragon.
At this stage I'm sure we all know that the character that is no Spyro used to be called Fire Dragon, hence all the fire attacks. But I'd have loved for the S2 / S3 figures to have added some more 'Spyro' flavored abilities to him.

Dragons are nice and I do collect them and wouldn't mind more, though I want more elves than anything else. There needs to be one core-elf per element and one per type.
We have 1 Life ( ), 2 Undead ( ), 1 Fire ( ), and 1 Giant ( ). I also count 1 for Magic until we discover Star Strike as otherwise.

I know Hex is technically a drow and Ninjini may not actually be an elf, but I still count them.

We still need Tech, Water (no Chill isn't an elf), Air, Earth, and a Swap.

We have enough dragons.

We need more mythological creatures, based off of Bigfoot and other wacky things.

Maybe a Bigfoot Life Swapper that has a stomp jump attack, and has the "Bounce" ability?

Wait, wait, wait, what about that Honeycomb Tree Skylander? On a piece of merchandise, he was featured with all of the other Swappers, but both Life Swappers have been confirmed... there is no way he can be any other element, other than Life...
