Actually, I love it. It might be a little silly, but the sculpt is decent and not derpish at all. The "Lava Barf" name is a bit off putting, but the figure itself looks great to me. Only S3 so far I can safely say I'm interested in.

I guess his Wow Pow might involve his Lava Barf?

There are seriously no Heroic Challenges in this game? How are Skylanders supposed to get upgrades to their Speed, Armor, Critical Hit, and Elemental Power, then?

he said no heroics and they didn't include them because people didn't buy all the figures. so they couldn't play them, now heroics have been replaced with the bonus missions instead... you do bonus missions you upgrade your stats.

i think this is good news, now i don't have to hunt down this or that s2/s3 variant or any newlanders.. i only need to buy all the 16 swap force figures so i can do all the bonus missions to upgrade my stats for all figures, this is really good news if you ask me... i can reach all parts of the game with less money used on figures, and i don't have to feel i missing out because i don't have the heroics

Well, Kappa, he didn't say in the video that someone at VV said that that's how you upgrade your landers now. He just said they said that Heroics weren't back.

I wish we could get official clarification on how you upgrade your Skylanders base stats in this game.

I'm going to guess this is the swap roster thing- IF THE GAME SUCKS, IT DOESN'T MATTER. Giants on the 3DS was just horribly mediocre, infested with bugs and boring level design. I find it extremely worrying that we have seen even less gameplay than we got of that, and now that they're adding this mechanic in, I fear that they will not polish the main game again.

The game is so easy anyway that you can mash the best attack most Skylanders have and win with ease. Personally, I'm glad if they got rid of stat boosts. It lets them tailor the fighting around Skylanders' standard stats much more.

You do know that you only need 8 of the swappers to fully complete the game.

^Yeah, but then they'll add the you need every new and old Skylander to get 100%.

yes, the hit powers no problem, element powers totally useless, health powers is pretty decent, speed powers lack so much you are deemed to buy them all.. and i have said since ssa the speed is the most important. slow characters are a pain in the butt to play with...

but if they get rid of the heroics locked to the figurines and just put them in the game, you as a customer will have the choice to buy or not buy... fanatics will buy all skylanders figurines, its okay by me, no problemo... but i can now pick up only the 16 swap force, that is really needed as i see it. (since they are the new thing)... and s2/s3 variants or newlanders is not so much needed... for me its a big yay this news...

What about Soul Gems though? Those can be really hard to do if you don't have an older game accessible, right? Or do the older Skylanders automatically have access to those abilities in later games?

Haven't actually used an older one in Giants yet so I've no idea how that was handled. Should look that up for reference.

Well they will probably be able to be purchased in Swap Force as they are in Giants. Older characters can automatically purchase their soul gems in Giants opposed to getting them in Spyro's Adventure.

^Yep. I wonder how they will distribute the soul gems in just 12 chapters, and the adventure packs.

Probably the ones who come with the Adventure Packs, there Soul Gems will be in the Pack's level.
Other that that, it = 30 Soul Gems, so 2-3 per chapter like the first game.

No, it was 3. I remember at least one level having 3. Some had 1 and most had 2, however.
