i dont mind, i fully accept that some people don't like skylanders... after all not all can like what we like here.. if she want to give her opinion i say let her do it... if we can accept her with open arms and dont judge. she maybe even start to like skylanders... you never know... everyone needs a hug sometimes... things can be better, just saying. and by the way that youtube vid i posted is a joke and not to be taken serious... ok. everyone need a laugh now and then.

What in your mind is causing a change from you in regards to the series? I have plenty of concerns as well---would like your opinions here. Everyone knows I can be the cheerleader as well as the basher of this series...it keeps things "in check".

The ironic thing about what Spyra said, is I want someone to name me a franchise that hasn't been milked?

Guitar Hero? Milked to death.
DJ Hero? Was on its way to being milked.
Madden? 25 games as of this year? Milked.
Mario? Even though I love Mario... MILKED!
Zelda? Same as above.
Uncharted? Well, Naughty Dog only knows how to count to three, but with Skylanders on its third game, Uncharted was milked to you.
Resistance? Same as above.
Killzone? 4th game and counting as of this year.
Ratchet and Clank? 9 games now.
Sly Cooper. 4 games now.
Assassins Creed? L...O...L
Call of Dookie, er Duty? L............O..........L!
Halo? Yep. Milked. I can say that as a Halo fan.
Final Fantasy? Milked to the point the game became a hallway with fancy graphics. Milked to linearity, lol.
Batman: Arkham series? Third game and going.

Here's one for ya.......... POKEMON! I love Pokemon, but man, talk about milking.

So, hmm, what hasn't been milked yet? I got one, for ya... God of War. Oh, wait. Scratch that. Trying to think here. Hmm, one and dones, one and dones, hmm. Chrono series? Nah, that even had a sequel. Valyrie Profile? Nope. Valkyria Chronicles? 3 games for that one, too. Ah, Smash Bros. Wait a tic. Hmm, I am running out of options here. Elder Scrolls? Crap, not that one, either.

You know, even a game has a sequel coming that shouldn't exist. That game is Bayonetta. It obviously flopped so hard (cause gamers these days have no taste for good games), that SEGA passed on publishing a sequel, so Nintendo scooped it up. Even that game has a sequel.

Point is, everything can and will be done to death. Who does the milking well, however, will continue to get my money. Just wait until Disney Infinity is milked to death. The game has nothing going for it, when it comes to unique styles of gameplay. As I've stated before, Disney will never allow something like Disney Swap Force to exist. That's right. You won't be seeing Dartherine in future installments. No Snow Lightyear or Mickey Duck. They're going to play by the book, which makes its potential milking full of failure... unless one is a diehard Disney fan and has to have the toys, in which I can get a Snow White toy from the Disney Store at this very moment. I don't have to wait for one that will come to life in a Snow White world only, while only being able to be used outside of that world, in a glorified Little Big Planet/Minecraft create-a-thon. I'm surely not looking to waste my life making levels for others to enjoy, while not getting paid for it. Life's too short for that kind of noise.

Again, though, what hasn't been milked yet? Name it, and I bet it will.

The sensitivity around this franchise is that a LOT MORE MILKING is done in MUCH LESS TIME. Even 9 games at $50 each doesn't compare to what most of us has spent on just TWO Skylanders games. Heck, even adding in the "dreaded" DLC content doesn't even bring it close.

So yeah, the milked feeling is going to happen sooner rather than later. I suspect there will be much more dissention on this entry. Until more information comes to me as to HOW LONG the game is (12 chapters on the surface doesn't sound like enough), my purse strings are closed to Activision. I was on the brink of saying "yes" during E3, but the lack of complete gameplay features/mechanics has me wanting for more. Don't get me wrong--they have me sold on the swapping mechanic, new high-res...but length and content of bonus missions and mechanics of other things that play into how well this will play after the main story is done remains to be seen.

GameMaster, no one milks (or markets) as good as Disney. Expect them to do well, and expect Activision to rethink things (possibly to their detriment). In my opinion, if sales slows down perhaps they'll "double down" on what we know the franchise needs, instead of continuing to dress a pig in lipstick.

lol looking at all the Spyro game icons at the top of the page you could add Spyro games to the list of milked titles if milking means more than 3 titles.

EVERYONE is entitled to their opinion, even on the internet. I am curious Spyra, are you done because you no longer like the game or the over commercialism? Not trying to pick a fight just curious. I was getting to the point of throwing in the towel at the tail end of Giants but then that stupid Swap Force trailer hit and I was hooked again lol. If you feel Giants was more of an expansion than an actual release I totally agree. I do feel that Swap Force looks like it will be an entirely new game as well being a seemingly new experience with the swapping option.

You have the right to give one, but don't come cry here if you can't defend it! And if you hate Skylanders so much, why are you here? I know this is also a Spyro board, but go to the Spyro parts, you're starting a fight that we know who's going to win!

It was an interesting rant until the YouTuber started praising Disney Infinity over Skylanders. They're both games with the same premise. Disney is better because it has "better" characters?!?! This would be similar to railing against Pokemon, but praising any other number of card game collecting/playing games.

My kids and I like Skylanders. Am I dropping some serious cash? Definitely. I've been able to get some deals, but ultimately the game is entertaining. Interestingly enough, my kids are not interested in playing DI. There are 2 figures (Wreck-It-Ralph & Davy Jones) that I'll get for display, but I won't be buying the game.

I can understand why you would want to leave. it kills your wallet and each game, the main bulk of characters are just reposed versions of characters from the past game that only gets one extra upgrade. Not to mention you look for the characters even after you have already finished the game. Are you planing to keep your figures and game(s), or are you going to sell them?

I'm about getting there too and I think for the giants finish line for the U.S. might be seeing polar this saturday. In trying to get those for others the fact they made so many figures for swap force but only made it 12 chapters long? It shows that they sacrificed the important thing, gameplay and if they don't have something on the lines of the online co-op or even the least something like infinity is bringing to the table, I can't say that it'll be a good year for swap force. 60+ new figures for just one person equates to 600 bucks atleast and that's if you get them at retail before tax and don't pay scalpers or online. The problems for this series of games is too much milking too soon and the price of the game overall within a year. It'll die faster because of the increased investment.

Factor in how they probably will have handled heroic challenges and if you do that for a complete collection, the game does need a more open world setting to an extent similar to the infinity toy box after much thought.

Pretty much nailed it for me. All of the tech in the world won't save the series if there are only 12 chapters to spread across 32 new characters (technically 256) and 60 characters total. Sorry, Activision. Unless there's new reveals that can justify it...no $3k+ from me. The most I could muster is partial investment in new characters only (instead of buying 4 also cut it in half to 2)...problem is I wouldn't be sending the right message to the bean counters. I'm sure there are others exactly in my line of thinking that are keeping quiet.

Also, don't forget the frustrating "exclusives" that will equate to another 6 or so that they probably aren't adding to the total.
