So I heard that they were making 16 skylanders that she from S2 in giants. However now there is a huge confusion because chill and sprocket have come back for s2 for swap force. People have now began to speculate that these s2 are the ones that are taking the place of 8 of the s3. I find that weird because first they stated that there will be 16 s2 giants that were reposed in giants coming to swap force as s3 not once did they ever say they were bringing back unreposed characters as series 2, they just did it. So does this mean that we will get 8 s2 and 16 s3? I just find it odd that everyone has gone so crazy about it and haven't even looked at what they said. I might be wrong, but that's what I think is happening.

I don't remember where I found it. But I do know that they said it somewhere, not exactly like that, but, they implied it.

Still not going to believe, it's not that I don't trust you it's that I have never seen or heard it around until people started speculating. I don't see how implying can be valid though.

S3 ? Trigger Happy
S3 Lava Barf Eruptor
S3 Ninja Stealth Elf

If memory serves, they didn't say they would bring back 16 S2's as S3, merely "16 fan-favorites will get reposed."

Series 2 would likely be the Skylanders introduced in Giants, while S3 is the SSA Skylanders reposed for the third game.

S2 = Giants newlander and/or the Forgotten 8

S3 = The characters who got S2 in Giants.

No it doesn't I'm sure you are just confused by the icons

"series" refers to the version of the character, not the game. The first time the character is introduced, it's series 1. For example:
Boomer in Spyro's Adventure was a series 1 as was Hot Dog in Giants
the first time a character is reposed, it's a series 2
For example:
Flame Slinger in Giant was an S2. Chill's new figure in Swap Force will be a series 2
Only those characters from the first game that also had a series 2 in Giants and are getting a 3rd version in Swap Force are series 3

Correct...so that means anyone from the previous games. I don't expect Giants to get reposed however only the little guys...and based on comments from those at E3 at least "some" of the forgotten 8 will be inlcuded in the 16. I'm guessing two or three.

Let there be Boomer and Wham-Shell.

It's always been common sense that the "series" it was referred to the incarnation of the figure.
