SWAP Force online mode detailed? [CLOSED]

On the E3 Nintendo Website, there is a section about swap force. It says (about the Wii U version)
"Wii U™ Key Features

With Skylanders SWAP Force, the Wii U™ GamePad allows players to keep track of game stats, as well as offers brand new leaderboards and enables viewing of players’ character collections and upgrades -- right in their hands.!

Leaderboards must mean some sort of online competition mode!

Or there'll be some sort of minigame or time trial and the leaderboards just track those scores.

Survival Arena has been announced as the 3rd gameplay mode. So the leaderboards would just track your high score from that.

So, does that mean we actually have online playing capabilities or is this still local with centralized hackable leaderboards?

Leaderboards should be neat. It would really add to the replay value, I could see myself spending hours trying to boost my score up.
