Thanks to Matteomax, a page from Flickr images revealed an image of a new promotional art of Spyro, and a few other new Skylanders:

So no worries to those who thought Spyro wasn't going to have a Series 3 figure.

He looks even more mutated and disturbing then usual.

Longer tail spike, longer horns...

Cool, the upgrade is for his Blitz path. We also get to see some artwork of Roller Brawl, and a Scorpion Skylander.

I don't think he's a scorpion. He looks like some sort of turtle to me.

and there's that earth or bee hive looking guy on the right image, but yeah not a fan of spyro's look there

Spyro's Art: Not a big fan. S2's was better.
Scorpion thing's Art: He looks like a demented frog with fangs. Not a Fan.
Roller Brawl's Art: From what I can see, it looks great! She looks like a promising character.

I feel like Activision is losing their creativity. I haven't been overly impressed with ANY of the characters so far. :/

Which measn she'll be released in the last or next to last wave.

Yeah the Beehive dude is with other swaplanders on some of the pics like the stack and snap case so yeah I knew he was the other life Swaplander.

Again, Activision didn't create the designs for the Skylanders. TFB are.

^ ^ ^ ^Agreed. Their Newlanders just don't have that same spark that they did in Spyro's Adventure and Giants. To me, it just doesn't feel all that "Skylandersy" anymore, for lack of a better term. Swap Force better knock my socks off.

This is why I knew S3 Spyro was guaranteed the moment the game was announced. The only real news from him being revealed is seeing his S3 art.

Exactly, I even read on one of darks posts that their first intention was to make another Spyro game, but then it escalated to Skylanders. So Spyro was the first "Skylander".

Some people say that the games have lost their flavor when it comes to original characters, well I think the exact opposite. These new characters to some degree are pretty original and some do have that Skylanders vibe like some of the first. I personally am glad that these I can easily say I like very quickly without a second thought as that was the problem i experienced through the first two games.

Anyway*stares sternly*, look on the bag to the right and you see a regular Eruptor at the top... I think that Volcanic and Ninja are both variants and will get regular S3s now...

First, Voodood is loooong dead, unfortuately, and Spyro, well, if you tell ANYONE you hate Spyro on this site, they will rip you limb from limb.

Anyway*stares sternly*, look on the bag to the right and you see a regular Eruptor at the top... I think that Volcanic and Ninja are both variants and will get regular S3s now...

I can't argue with that as I want Voodood back too. I enjoyed playing as him and would love it if he could get a wow pow for himself. He could really use one right now.

I swear, though, if I could punch through my screen, so many people would have black eyes right now. :D I'm so sick of the whining about Skyro being ugly. It's not like iSpyro and especially LoSpyro were lookers. It's been THREE YEARS, people. Shut up about it already.

I've got nothing against you personally, HotDogandZap, or anyone else who doesn't like Skyro, I'm just super sick of hearing about it after all this time. Especially when iSpyro had an overbite you could open bottles on and LoSpyro shouldn't even be able to stand up with a head that large (or his broken legs in the case of DotD). :D

It's hard to say, but the new art direction isn't too bad, for some characters. Some characters don't look so great, yes, but some look pretty cool, and at least with this scorpionlander we know not all the 'landers will be humanoid.

um. pop fizz and tbh they never really FOCUSED on spyro at all after the first game and even then oh yea his figure talks in some commercials and the game is named after him they didnt do anything special in the game either so yea

well its not unfair because this was spyro's sight to begin with and some spyro fans just dont like skylanders but this isnt a skylanders fansite it is a spyro fansite and since spyro is in skylanders.....it on the site so if you dont like spyro, just dont say it

Me myself, I don't care for spyro. But I don't dislike him persay. But I like the new ones being made. They are really creative! (Except for a few) one of my favorites is Rattle Ranger. (Fan-name. I know.)

Not really seeing your logic, Ninpire. Just because this was a Spyro site first doesn't mean it's not about Skylanders, too. Also, free country, freedom of speech, yadda yadda. I happen to love Spyro, but I also like Skylanders. If I've got to put up with Spyro fans being whiny brats about Skylanders constantly, don't see why they shouldn't put up with the occasional Skylanders fan who's sick of Spyro from time to time. It's only fair.

Yeah, I knew they'd keep Spyro for this game. He's popular and not just with his old fans. :)

Pretty sure he's S3.

If he's S3, Wrecking Ball will probably get a LightCore, and Pop Fizz gets a S3.

Spyro's horns are not as bright as LightCore Drobot's robot-suit core or LightCore Eruptor's glowing mouth.

Yeah, Spyro's pretty much a given.

For some reason, the Scorpion almost reminds me of Dino Rang and Voodood mushed together with a third creature.

LOL. Me too, to a degree. I imagine we'll also see a S3 Gill Grunt, if we got Spyro and Triggs, then again maybe not as Gill isn't quite as popular.

Well it's too bad that doesn't look like he's coming back. I certainly can't be the only one by a landslide who hates the fact that they're making the lost 8 feel like experimental afterthoughts as they just ignore them, treat them like failed experiments and pretend they don't exist. I mean just technically imagine if other franchises decided to have old characters or creatures vanish for good and no one knows why they're gone. Also because I wanted newer fans to be able to get a hold of them as all 8 easily as of now feel like the most underrated in the game.
