since the image i found shows the starter kits green so the single packs will be green when people though it was ganna be blue well for some of you,

RP just means it's gonna get rated (probably e10) but hasn't yet.
Also, of all the bonuses, it has to be Hex, the one character I really dislike...

RP means "rating pending" - no RPG get rated "RP"

That's gotta be the lamest packaging yet. I guess they can save tons of money packaging like this since everyone knows what's in the things now. IMO it looks lazy. Seems to be a common theme.

No, that's just a placeholder for the packaging. It won't look like that when the game gets released.

If you look above the "RP" rating, it says "rating pending".

RP= Rating Pending
E = Everyone
E10+ = Everyone ages 10 and up
T = Teen
M = Mature

Those are the main ones I know of.

And yes, RP has always meant Rating Pending. Not Role Playing. I can almost understand, just because some forums use RP to stand for Roleplay, but on a game box it is always Rating Pending.

Sky-dragon, RP (Rating Pending) is just a placeholder rating when a company hasn't had the game officially rated by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), yet. It's basically there to let parents and other people know that the game hasn't been rated yet.

That image is before Portal 2 received its final rating, so it had that RP placeholder at that time. Portal 2 is currently rated E 10+, which means that the ESRB recommends the game for an audience of everyone ten years and older.

On topic:

I believe that they are going with green packaging because Spyro's Adventure had blue colored packaging. It's easier for parents and others to find the current game version characters by their color schemed packages.

Also, keep in mind that these featured boxes are probably not finalized and that the final product might vary.

The packages will probably remain that green color, but there will probably be a big window cut into it so you can see the figures, and I'd assume that the cover of the game will probably have the same character logo that the other preorder card has.
