won't buy skylanders 4 when swap force ends. some people are saying that the game will go down hill so i thought of this. not me i hate buying this stuff but i also like it, but of course it's too much.... 3 games are enough!

Tricky, tricky.

I probably won't buy Swap Force unless they manage to show something really interesting, more gameplay-innovative at E3. I have preorders, but I'm likely to just cancel them. Swapping seems to have as little effect as changing how your Swapper will move/dash around which will not be worth the investment, and more importantly, frustration, to me. Jumping has been added to the game, but seems to have been barely utilised with bridges and such remaining plus no penalty from falling off the world. They'll be very cool additions, but so were the Giants and LightCores when those were new...

What worries me most is that they keep saying this game will have around the content of Giants. Giants felt more like an expansion to me. Now, don't get me wrong, Skylanders has maybe some of the best variety I've ever seen in a large cast, but the worlds are too limited to make the playstyles feel unique when you actually use them. It makes upgrading by replaying levels feel fatiguing rather than exciting. With Heroics, levelling, Quests, et al, there is plenty of content. But that doesn't mean it's varied.

If I don't get Swap Force, I'm definetly not buying Skylanders 4, though, so it's not like "all games gotta be made by tfb r they sux!!1!...". I've had a very good run with Spyro's Adventure and Giants, and want Swap Force. But I think that it needs to end or fun will become a pit of frustrating madness.

Sadly, I have collecting OCD and will force myself to buy everything if I do actually get Swap Force. If it weren't for that I would just get the game, Adventure/Battle Packs and the 16 Swappers.

Of course, Disney Infinity is a part of the equation. I intend to buy everything from that game and leave Skylanders alone right now, but if I end up disliking it or it just doesn't turn out to be for me, I'll end up buying Skylanders instead. What I have seen of it excites me more than Swap Force, though. I'm glad that it's coming out sooner because otherwise I would be in a real pickle and just go for neither.

Funny this bought up now, since I've been having conversations about this kinda thing with friends.

How do we even know that Skylanders 4 is even going to happen. I really don't think a Skylanders 4 will happen unless they're getting more greedy and want to bring in more cows to milk.

I probably won't even buy Swap Force. I want to, but to get all 16 (?) new characters, it'd be too much. I always like getting all new characters (no variants or reposes, just completely new ones) and I honestly need to save my money for other things I would prefer, like lollipops or a Keurig Brewing Maker so I can have a cappuccino before school. :I

If I'm not getting Swap Force, I won't get any others, no matter how cheap. Maybe when Swap Force gets much cheaper, like SSA can be found today, then I might consider it and getting the new figures.

Sorry to say it, but I'm hooked. As long as the games keep being fun and the figs keep on being unique and interesting I will keep buying. The caveat is that I don't buy reposes, light core, or Alt Deco figs. So really, I'm buying a new game and 32 characters per year, that's not that bad. I love the hunt and the collecting aspect of it. so... yeah... I will keep buying

side note - People who don't want to spend as much money can still play the new game with existing figs, I think that can be just as gratifying. Activision isn't evil because they are making more figs, they are just giving us options. If they required the new figs to play the new game, that would be sort of evil IMO. Activision is good in my book.

In all honesty, the new characters show signs of jumping the shark. Some of the new ones are ugly, and others are just eh. However, the game itself will still likely be decent, so maybe in the future when I can get it cheap and after I've played and beaten Giants. As for Skylanders 4, that's just counting chickens before they hatch from their eggs.

I will more then likely stop after swap force unless they introduce some sort of crazy gimmick that is so good that I die well yeah.

For now I'm going to say that I will buy Skylanders 4 because I am still enjoying the series. However, if later games are not compatible with series 1 Skylander figures then I would probably stop playing because I can't afford to update my collection.

oh come on guys lets be honest, you all will buy it in the end anyway. you will probably only need 4 swap force(one comes with the game) for all the secret areas, since you can swap their bodies. then you can just use your older skylanders you have... when the tfb are back with skylanders4 that wil have online mp game play, its a sure buy, at least for me...

^ no you need to buy at least 6 extra swaplanders for the movement gate things they introduced and i hope they make this possible by still buying only one of each remaining element and still doing that so yea i hope anyway

I will only stop buying Skylanders if the game stops being fun.

For me it's an odd question since I think that all of the games except the first 3DS game are very mediocre, and not very good. I've always been more interested in the figures than the games, so in a perfect world where I don't have OCD I would just buy the 16 newlanders and the adventure packs and just not buy anything else. (maybe series 3 Sprocket) Then when Skylanders 4 comes out I'd have a whole previous game's worth of characters to play as, and I wouldn't miss out on any content by not buying the swap characters since I guarantee you there won't be any Swap Force exclusive areas outside of Swap Force.

Though chances are good I'll probably go nuts and buy everything again even though the logical part of my brain says I don't want to.

I already like the looks of Roller Brawl and Countdown in a Hoenn Pokemon kind of way, so I think the figures are still worth collecting. The actual games oddly enough aren't worth buying anymore if you ask me.

If I do get it, it will have to be almost certainly next year. Partially because it'll be cheaper, and partially because it's darned near impossible to get it here (actually, via the Japanese amazon, I might, but it'd still be more expensive). Anyway, I'm a bit obsessive but I've never felt the need (or been able to) get all the characters, so I'll probably get (outside the starter pack) one or two s3, 2-6 swappers, and maybe 1-3 newlanders.

Yeah, I'm not sure about how I feel about the art style of making everyone superheroes, but I suppose my parents'll like it better (they've had this vendetta against monster characters after I got sucked into Pokemon )

I will try to buy all of the figures for swap-force, but after that I AM DONE! This game has been nothing but a bank breaker for me. I am not even finished with giants, and I am saving money already for Swap-Force! I will stop after this third game. I am not even sure there ever will be a fourth game, as the idea pool for gimmicks is at a drought.

I'll probably buy them until they make it so that Series 1 toys don't work(it will happen). That's just ultimate scum. I'm already adverse to supporting them since the newest thing my stores within 30 minutes have are Scorpion Strikers, but when they take away even more from my old toys I'm going to vote with my wallet. I'm not buying any Series 3, I'm gonna miss Heroics...

Everyone who says "they can't come up with any new gimmicks", remember that Giants are basically slower Skylanders with more HP and damage and they weren't adverse to that.
