This thread is full of stupid. The idea behind bringing toys to video games is NOT copyrighted to Activision and Skylanders. Disney did not steal a thing.

If discs came to Skylanders THAT would be copyright infringement.

Disney has Power Discs. Skylanders has magic items. They all basically have the same concept in game.

Will they have discs? No and they probably won't in the foreseeable future. Most likely they never will.

From a practical stand point it seems silly and unnecessary, plus if I'm paying for it then it's not really a bonus. So the example here would be, you buy the 16 new skylanders (I'm pretty sure it's more than 16) then you'd buy bonus discs for more stuff? Would it be bonus discs based on element or what? Regardless after buying the new guys, I'm not going to want to spend more money to unlock even more stuff.

Currently I think they need to look into a way to expand the amount of content you're getting per skylander. You get one challenge, a new skylander and really not much else. If they can expand it so each skylander unlocks a part that you could put on your ship or they actually have their own little mini quest line then maybe I'd be interested in bonus discs.

Power Discs for Infinity is a dumb idea outside of Toy Box Mode.

No character keeps their upgrades. The only upgrades they get, are on those discs. Once those discs aren't on the characters, said character loses upgrade.

I like that my Skylanders keep their upgrades, while still getting to have fun with Magical Items, which if 8 new Adventure Packs are coming, and 2 Magical Items come per pack, that brings Skylanders Magical Item count to 26 unique Magical Items (didn't include Golden DFC). That's not even including the Magical Items from the new Battle Packs.

I do plan to buy Infinity, but it's nowhere near as exciting as Skylanders will ever be. They will always play it safe with Infinity. No unique characters like Giants or Swap Force Skylanders in that game. It will always be Star Wars, Marvel, or Disney characters doing the same things we've seen them do for upwards of 30 years. Vader has the force and a Lightsabre, Buzz has his little wings and a laser.

Skylanders will never have anything to fear from Infinity, because it does what Infinity should have, which is -

1: Allow characters to play in worlds other than their own
2: Allow for upgrades sans Power Discs
3: Allow for characters created through Infinity, so there could be unique styles of characters
4: Have a storyline

i think there will not gonna be 8 adventure packs but 4
because last time there were 4 wich represented 4 elements (undead, fire, water an earth)
and i think now the other 4 elements (tech, magic, life and air)
so if that is true there will be going to be 8 magic items

I heard somewhere it would be 8, but I can't remember where.

Even if it's 4, that's better than none. However, 8 would make sense, so they can package 1 of the 2 new core Skylanders of each element into those, leaving 8 of the core to be bought in single and Triple Packs.

Plus, I hope it's 8, because then we could technically have the longest Skylanders game, based on Swap Force being the same length as Giants (16 chapters), with 4 previous Adventure Packs factored in (20 chapters), and 8 new Adventure Pack chapters bringing the total number of levels to 28.

i wish skylanders had free-flight mode, and, before you say they cant all fly, there could be a magic item that lets you fly - WINGS!!

no they will not make power disc for the skylanders, disney have properly taken patent on the idea... and toy for bob have the portal. so why should they go for the power disc in the first place and remove a identity of the game and risk to be sued by disney... so to put it simple its not gonna happen...

The disc things suck because they are probably easy to lose and you will lose all your upgrades and no Skylanders wont have them.

Actually Disney shouldn't/wouldn't have a right to sue anyone if they made similar disks because disks like that have been around for quite some time.

I don't think that Activision will ever follow this concept of using mini disks because they already have a great idea to begin with and using disks would kind of limit them than improve anything, in my opinion.
