Is EB GAMES a game store or what is it

EB stands for Electronics Boutique (I think).

EB stores used to be all over the place in the USA, typically inside malls.
I could be mistaken, but I think GameStop bought out all the EB stores in the USA.
Not sure if GameStop also bought out the Canadian stores but left the name "EB"? Or if GameStop didn't buy the Canadian EB stores?

Eb games is like gamestop, in canada its called eb games while in the u.s its called gamestop, correct me if im wrong thanks

We use to have EB games in the Usa then gamestop bought them and baggage (or something like that) and formed gamestop mostly only. I know some places that still have EB but it is basically a gamestop with a different name.

From everything I've seen and read, EBGames IS GameStop. The chain is called GameStop in America, EBGames just about everywhere else. Definitely here in Canada, and I think also in Australia. That's as specific as I know. No idea why the two names, but whatever. I've also seen a reduced version of the store called EB Boutique, so if the B is for "Boutique", that's rather repetitive, LOL!

To make my point, I'll mention I got the Golden Dragonfire Pack at an EB Games, and have seen them on the pegs a few times since. The Golden one is a GameStop exclusive.

And I, too, would like some confirmation/source on this, because a YEAR later, this would be the first they're available in Canada other than shipping them in from elsewhere, like by buying on eBay and such. At least as far as I know. Ever since first hearing about the Sidekicks a couple of months ago, I've suspected that Canada didn't get the Lays promotion. And despite what I just said about EB Games/GameStop, I don't think EB Games got the $30 promotion a few months ago.

I was at my GS today (USA) and asked the manager about the sidekicks and he showed me the ad (It was located in the front of the store), it had the pictures of the original 4 with the statement: Get one with $19.98 Skylanders purchase. I will take a picture tomorrow. The manager expects them in by Friday but cannot guarantee for sure.

I would say they are trying to get rid of the rest before the new 4 are released. I would say next month the new 4 will be out...

Yeah, but that's news about the new $20 GameStop promotion... There are TWO Sidekicks stories currently floating around. This one is "Sidekicks are coming to Canada", something which is a separate thing. They can't be clearing out their leftovers because they didn't get them in the first place. They HAVE no leftovers.

Well, I would really like that. Before they were only available in chip bags in the States. Though I don't recall anything like that for the EBGames near me.

So the sidekicks will be in Canada?

I went to a Game Stop after lunch and the person there said they had the old sidekicks for each $19.98 you spent. They just didnt have anything worth $19.98 to buy

Again, that's news about the American promotion... I've heard no news about the exact nature of the Canadian promotion except for what's on here, we don't know if it's also a "Spend $19.98 and get a Sidekick" promotion or not.
