Awesome news for Skylanders fans in the UK ... I think?
I don't know much about toy stores in the UK, but I'll assume for now that Smyth's is a decent-sized retailer with multiple locations?

Not quite.

For example - no stores in the entirety of Lincolnshire(the second biggest county in the UK. First is North Yorkshire which, also, has no stores.).

About 40 stores in the whole of the UK and NI.

Would be better off having it as an Entertainer exclusive, around twice the amount of stores.

It's not that far to Hull or Sheffield, though, right?
Maybe my grasp on UK geography is off ...

From where I live?

About 2hrs each way to either of those places.

And that's NOT including traffic delays/etc. Or including finding and getting to the store itself.

You must live off the beaten path a good ways, bisylizzie ... Boston? Skegness?

Nothing wrong with those places, at all. But can't exactly blame a toy store chain for not wanting to build a location in an area with lower population density. While Lincolnshire is the 2nd largest county by area, it's the 18th largest by population.

Regardless, I'd say the drive is worth it for a fancy Scarlet Ninjini! Go for it!

WHOA, HOW'D YOU GUESS?

Pretty much a village on the A52 between those two places xD

Even so, N'Ham or P'Boro seem like pretty decent places to have one of those stores. Lincoln, even.

And as someone who, well, can't drive (no licence, had no lessons. No money for lessons.) I'm reliant on the public transport or getting a lift.

Though, I am glad that it is THIS variant which is exclusive to that store. If it had been Polar Whirlwind or Jade Flashwing, then I would be so annoyed. They're the only two I really want.

Good news but a bit too late as I had her for a while now from Germany. Most people from UK on here probably have her already. ALSO it will be more expensive to get it from Smyths online then getting it from Germany lol as the postage is too much.

To be fair, my nearest TRU is about 1:15 away. I'm sure there are folks that live even further from one.

i am lucky my local Smyths store is 5 minutes from my house and another 1 is 20 minutes away.

in my opinion, Smyths better than Toys R Us UK and Gamestop for Skylanders figures

This. Ugh, how on earth am I going to get this one. smilie smilie smilie you'd think Derbyshire/Leicestershire would get one but nope. I doubt they'll be available on the website for long enough.

My nearest is Birmingham, about an hour away and I don't have my own transport. And it's on a Friday so no begging my parents for a lift, they'll be at work. I'm screwed.

It sucks, but at least there are reasonable options outside of scalpers. Amazon.de is sold out again, but I'm sure they will get more. Even us US folks are having to resort to overseas options for some figures given Activision going dark on new releases. I have a feeling their release plan didn't factor that in.

Yes but buying online is not an option for me.

Well, I'm glad I was able to get one at retail price on Amazon.de. No Smyths shops for well over two hours drive away, if not more. I already have to pay extra to buy from Toys R Us online as it is, because that's well over an hour's drive away.

I imported the other exclusives, too.

If you don't want to wait for her in the US you can get her from Amazon.de. She costs about 40 bucks for 2 of her.

I'm seeing €35 not even including p&p. That's way more expensive than retail. :/

Definitely not always ... as recently shown with Legendary Lightcore Chill (Canada), Lightcore Pop Fizz (Australia), Polar Whirlwind (EU), and Scarlet Ninjini (EU).

Check there for that and then keep checking amazon.de again if you can't get it from their online sale. From now until the 18th or 19th of may if you don't have luck with amazon.de and scarlet will be distributed all over for the US, you'd probably be able to score her online for TRU.com which does ship internationally and so does the regular amazon.com.

If she's going to be without exclusive then there's good chance both those US websites will have her for availability.

It's simply because of the settled exclusivity so her boxing is obviously complete. The reason why you can get her first most likely but also sets somewhat of a confirmation as others have said as to why they are starting to get her there. I would expect at this rate that by mid may you might even see polar grace the UK.
---
Taking that last ride through the sunset on skylanders. Hopefully a return of more classic spyro gameplay in the horizon.
