so, we've all been ranting about how there's nothing new, and that all we see is swarm, flashwing, stump smash, cynder, ect...

this needs to change.

we all know activision stuffs new characters in new boxes, but there's always those swarms in with ninjini.

so my idea is... shroomboom day.

a day we buy all the overstock characters. every flashwing, every stump smash, every whirlwind, everything.

what do we do with it though? whatever we want! customs, articulation, anything!

if old dust gatherers are selling, activision will start sending out new stock faster.

the faster we get lightcore drobot off the shelves, the faster we get lc hex on the shelves.

the faster we get swarm off the shelves, the faster we get more of ninjini!

Well, that'd be just dandy if someone had an unlimited income. But unfortunately without a reward at the end, I certainly don't want to spend what little extra dosh I have on something that others clearly don't want.

The exact same thing they are doing with them. Run sales to try to sell stock etc. I personally am with spyroflame. I am not going to go out and spend $xxx more on stuff I already have to attempt to get the few last figures a week earlier.

I may be mistaken, pretty sure i'm not, but weren't you the same person saying you were going to sell your ipod to go buy a variant for an extremely inflated price?

You may not have patience, but I do. I can wait.

I say Activision chokes on it and learns to properly plan shipments to consumers.

That means 3$ for Dragonfire pack. I like where this is headed.

I'd like to merge this idea in the OP with the idea I presented a week ago or so:

Set-up a day where everyone buys out all these god-darned "shelf-warming" characters in the all the retail stores. Use a credit card, not cash.

Then, wait a little bit (a week? two weeks? three?) and return all those shelf-warmers, and get your money credited back to your card. In that week, hopefully the stores will have ordered in some new stuff.

On amazon, I've seen some used Cynders for $0.92, but with high shipping (like one fig I saw, can't remember who, was only a dollar or so, but costs $10 shipping)

I'm honestly debating grabbing a few extras of some of the shelf warmers. Who knows if they'll turn around and become the next Boomer! Plus I feel much happier investing money into these than the stock market after last year

^ now that's funny, but this has somewhat already been discussed in Bahamut's post. Theres no doubt that most would like to complete the series. If they release all the figures remaining today, what will one do until Swap Force besides save for it or play catch up on SSA or Giants if you started late like myself.

My thought is that there will be some type of super sale on Giants just right before or during the release of SF to promote Swap Force and get rid of the dust collecting Giants (two birds one stone theory). Idk if they did this with SSA, this just seems logical.

Then this time next year, Swarm will be the hardest to find Giant and maybe a LC or two from the series, who knows this is just a wild guess. The fan base will have possibly doubled in size, figures will be worth more or maybe less. A unreposed SSA figure may be of some serious value to some and worth nothing to others, as they may be forgotten and unknown. I will say that this is the most fun I have ever had collecting anything.

I can't bring myself to stash Flashwings, though. I've grown such a disdain for seeing her multiplying on the shelves/pegs in my stores ... like a disease ...

Mark my words: NONE of the Giants characters outside of the store in game variant exclusives will EVER be in as demand as ANY SSA character / Adventure Pack. Molten and Jade and Gold Flameslinger MIGHT reach mid $20s. MIGHT. The current demand from wave 1 characters will all but disappear when future waves include those characters. Be Quick or Be Dead.

It's a gut feeling I'm having. Giants vs SSA seems night and day in terms of availability. Then again---I'm sure many said the same thing when SSA was in stock. I remember seeing rings of Darklight Crypt...oh to go back in time.

But total high five on stock market...I've hit it big on a speculative biotech...but I've had my fair share of losers too. When I hear everyone talking about "how great" the market is that's when I go into cash and wait for the crash.

So...tell me how you feel about Flashwing? lol. IIRC, Boomer was marketed the same way...what if supply gets short and then she's not reposed or shipped after Swap Force comes out?

Skylanders seems about as speculative as stocks lol.

It worries me somewhat that all the characters I'm seeing now on shelves that I'm becoming a bit sick of/have one of already will be the ones that become super rare in the future. x_x; Lol.
