You see, I played with s2 zap(not a big fan of him anyway) and he kill everything(literally) in about 5-7 hits. So can someone tell me why people think zap is weak?

People say that when they first get him. Like others, Zap can't be used effectively without decent stats and most of the upgrades.

If you look hard enough you'll find people saying every skylander is terrible/awesome, its all a matter of personal preference and cocationally which upgrades you've bought,

JakeJones, not everyone has your opinion. Your probably using him wrong or probably need to take him on another path.

He may be weak but I find him extremely fun. I have a fun strategy I use.

Probably because he is too difficult to master for casual play, he is nothing without his wow pow. His Sea Slime Slide attack has been depowered from the first Game (Xbox version only, he sucked on Wii).

1. The slide doesn't travel as fast or far as before.
2. The slime doesn't slow you down as much in PvP and is not very thick, too easy to walk out of.
3. The electricity does not last very long anymore.

Because of this, he has become a lot worse and needs his Wow Pow to be tough. His damage output is just too low, he takes too long to kill enemies and has below-average stats. He is a lot of fun to play, but there are lots of stronger characters than he.

I Prefer Gill Grunt as my favorite Water, not as weak.

Poth paths are good for Zappy.

I tried both paths and he is weak as hell on both of them. I dont use any characters wrong. And even though im really good zap still gets his ass kicked very often. So....

I think Zap is pretty cool on Slime serpent.

The only conclusion I can arrive at is that you are not, in fact, "really good".

I mostly meant my life during the school week over the weekends i get some good time to play some skylanders with my brother. And many people do seem to have problems with zap such as rossmacdaddy from gamefaqs go look up one of his character ratings lists he has zap as LAST FREAKING PLACE.

Truth is, most people who say zap sucks don't know how to play as him. I was a BEAST with him during SSA. I will admit other characters have taken precedence for Giants, but I still know what to do as Zap and how to kick some tail.

I think Drill sergant and Jet vac are pretty underrated. They can do some impressive things on Megadozer and vac packeteer.

He is great in adventure , but not the best in pvp.

The fact of the matter is that all of the characters have their strengths and weaknesses---and our ability as players to determine what they are and leverage them appropriately is squarely on US, NOT the character itself.

Well it matters mostly on the person yes, but it also matters about the charecter.

i personally love cause its quick gameplay and it feels just right it doesnt seem like slow gameplay like even though hes not strong he can slime himself all over the place and he fires quickly so people who say that just like characters who like who you dont have to risk losing cuz doesnt hav a whole lot of health either

Sprocket is actually awesome on nightmare and a beast in the arenas... the trick to to keep setting up turrets and throwing mines - never engage anything bigger than a chompy directly. The ability to attack from three directions at once tears the shielded monsters to bits and throwing three mines at once should mean that getting to you is always painful.

Jet-Vac does seem a bit rubbish to me. Is there some tick I'm missing to use him properly?

On topic: I enjoy Zap, but it's sad he's toned down from his appearance in SSA.

Jet vac can take advantage of some nice combos like on vac packeteer you can suck your enemy closer to you and then take flight and instantly fire off a corkscrew disorienting your foe. On bird blaster you can suck up enemies and gaian an epic 60 damage blast!

Drill sergant and Lightning rod are both very underrated. Drill sergant does better than you would expect on the Megadozer path, and Lightning rod is an extremely versatile character. Both are great.

Don't judge a character by their looks.

I only judge a character by it's looks. My original plan was to only buy the ones that looked cool. That's broken down now (mostly thanks to seeing some on $5 sale and three packs I brought to get one specific character). There are only eight or so characters that I don't have yet - so maybe I should just finish up the collection.

I think Drill Sgt looks pretty cool.

What chu talking about? Gill Grunt and Drill Sergeant are awesome, and Sprocket is good.

I never played much of Zap in SA, cuz my bro was always playing him. Now, my bro doesn't play the game at all so I play Zap and really like him.

Zap was one of my favorites in SSA, in Giants he seems pretty weak. I still use him as he is fun to play with. The only drawback I have found is his voice, oh my goodness is it annoying.

In PVP, Zap's attacks (on either path) are weak, and, well, he just plain sucks.

I disagree with this. One of the nice things about Drill Sergeant is that his Auto-Blaster in combination with his Future Cannon Wow-Pow can be used the entire time. This power used to be small at about 2 dmg per, but with the wow-pow is up to 8 dmg per hit (granted not every hit is 8). On top of that you can just hold down the button and play as normal. As in you can still use any other attack wile holding the Auto-Blaster. To me this is a benefit because even if you are not facing your opponent and are trying to reposition for a better angle of attack you are still causing damage. Not all of the time in the PvP fights I have played has been standing face to face. Alot of it Is running around trying to get better position over the other player. With DS you can move, Use Charge for extra speed, and still shoot all at the same time. Not many characters have the ability to to it all at once like this.

Yup, you are correct. It is 10. I wrote that from memory and checked after you said this. At 10 it makes my point even more valid though.

Yeah, and I do agree the future cannon is a more helpful upgrade than it would seem on paper!

It is sort of like how I defeated an Ice Lancer Chill with a S1 Total Tongue Wrecking Ball *shudder# I absolutely HATED that match! I had to stay as far away as possible, using the charge when I needed it.

Actually took the plunge over the weekend and grabbed a few 3-packs to finish up my collection of core characters; and while Lightning-Rod is as goofy as I feared, Drill Sergeant is actually kind of neat.

They cost too much to judge on attacks/uniqueness, so I go solely for looks. I first only got the dragons, then I started basing on looks, so I only have Zap because he's a dragon; my least favorite one at that

Most people dont really care about Story Mode anymore and say a skylanders bad because they can't be used by either button mashing or PvP.

Skylanders can be better or worse depending on the player. I beat a Sandhog Terrafin using a Crystaleer Prism Break and lost to a S1 Zap using a Burning Bow-Wow Hot Dog. So, eventually, once you have experienced nearly a lot of Skylanders, you find that their skill depends on how use them.

Both, actually. Lightning Rod is still plain goofy, but Sergant is qay beter looking in the game than I gave him credit for.

I find PVE more fun, in both Giants and SSA. Whenever I get a new eight I play through with the new crew - and because the skills are very different, the playthroughs tend to be different each time.
