Im not goin to curse but whyyyy did they make series 3 it dont make any sense I mean ive spent (was worth the money) over bout $500 on the series 2 thank the mighty lord that I didnt have Spyro's Adventure and bought all the series 1 skylanders and that it dont make sense to me about why is there the reason I get that they will make a series 2 of the eight dudes who didnt get a repose and the eight new people right but the series 3 what they goin do make a second wow pow?

and what they doin bout the Giants could they make both the paths cause that got to be annoying that i couldnt swith paths wit my giants or eight new guys without restarting them

As far as a collecting sense, it's pretty extensive buying all the different versions. I definitely know that feel. (though, thankfully I was able to get quite a lot of the S2s I needed from the JCP sale, which I hope we'll see again this year for the holidays)

In terms of a more general sense, it's probably done so that they can continue keeping older characters out with the new, so that "favorites" of people are always available in some form or another.

More than likely what we'll see is the 8 old guys that didn't get reposed for S2 and 8 of the S2 guys getting a third repose. It's kind of lame in a way (we're under the impression that they made S2 in the first place to future proof the figures) but it seems like something we'll inevitably have to put up with as the series continues.

At least from the Stealth Elf it's not just a plain repose. She's wearing an entirely new outfit which could fundamentally change how she(and other characters) play.

All I care about in terms of possible series 3 are Voodood and Camo as those are the only s1's (that I wanted...) that I didn't get....

because they dont make series 3 for people that collect every single character, they create reposes for people that have bought a few skylanders from giants and may of missed others they liked but never bought during giants/SSA, all about options (and of course its easy money for them)

and i very much doubt there will be many series 3, there will probably be a lot of series 2 coming out in SSF of ones that never got a series 2 in giants / were released in giants (therefore series 1)

Stealth elf is already series 3

It's simple guys why they made S3, in no particular priority:

• New gamers enter the market and won't be able to get the old figures. This will be their first of a given character.
  
• Sell more skylanders to collectors. No one can get enough....right?!?
  
• Some may like the additional features that are on the new characters.
  

Everyone's pet peeve is unlocking of content from older skylanders should count same as a new one, to provide value to those that choose not to upgrade their skylanders to the latest and greatest.

Also, the old-landers coming back is because some have been out of commission for a while...as you know Activision has committed to making every character playable in game--they have to get their ROI from development, 'ya know.

We don't even know that there will be Series 3 Skylanders. Maybe just Series 2.

My post was countering fireofexile's proposal that there won't be any series 3 characters despite the fact that there is already a series 3 character confirmed.

I do hope the Forgotten come back. And Sprocket was awesome, though i don't think we'll see her getting a repose.

Deep breath… relax… Just because there will be Series 3 characters doesn’t mean you have to buy them. By all means, if you see a new version of a favourite character you might want to buy it, but your old figures will work just fine.

If you STARTED with Skylanders Giants, then the idea of Series 3 might horrify you, but folk who started with Spyro’s Adventure know that often the ‘wow pow’ power wasn’t particularly awesome anyhow, and the old figure is still perfectly fine – of all the series 2 figures, only a small handful had a wow-pow that seriously changed the character (Erupter, for example). In fact, a few had powers that were pointless, annoying to use or actively made the character worse (Whirlwind’s Wow-pow makes setting traps, her best attack, a massive pain in the butt because they keep triggering themselves)!

Plus, I have a few figures where I’ve ignored Series 2, just because the new figure doesn’t look as good. For example, the Stealth Elf Series 3 looks terrible - if it’s not in the starter pack there is no way I’d buy it, and I don’t care what the wow-pow is.
