This is just an educated guess but we should expect at least 20 skylanders in swap force WAVE 1 because there was 20 in giants WAVE 1 and 20 in skylanders # 1 WAVE 1so I expect to see another 20 in WAVE 1 for swapforce

(still talking about wave 1)... I also Think there will be at least 8 swap force characters in WAVE 1 because of the new swapforce zones 8 skylanders for climbing,teleport,speed etc. zones you cant beat the game without at least 8 swap force characters with the special abilities.

plus 3 light cores from giants but i don't really count light cores as new one that much

You're a little bit late, we know already that there will be 56 new Skylanders:
16 Swap Skylanders
16 New Core Skylanders
16 S3 Reposes
8 Lightcore

What about series twos of new characters from giants or ones that didn't get series two from the first game? (camo, sunburn, boomer, warn ado, voodood, dinorang, wham shell and ghost roaster)
and will they make series 2 giants?

^I personally doubt it as Giants is pretty prevalent. I'm guessing 8 of the 16 were the un-reposed figures from SSA, and the other 8 will be from the Giants new roster team (without Giants). My reasoning is to cycle previous games to justify development...some folks are dying for a Boomer and Ghost Roaster and unless they keep manufacturing toys under SSA brand they'll do it here.

I personally wouldn't expect to see any S2 Giants characters until the 4th installment.

I'm also praying that the lightcore characters are either variants of the new characters in this installment, or one of the un-used reposed characters. In other words, buying multiple versions of same character in same release should be limited.

20 sounds about right...percentage wise 35%-40% will be out day 1. Because the number of characters are up a bit you might see as many as 22-25.

Well, the thing about the 8 un-reposed figures from SSA is that we already know that Stealth Elf will be the life one...

I am glad they make reposes. Why? So that people who are new can still get characters they missed out on. So stop complaining and let us who don't have uber collections be.

ok but i need to know 2 things about stealth elf:
1. is she in the swap force starter pack? (need to know coz im wondering if i should get her or wait coz i dont want 2 stealth elfs)
2. Ive seen a picture of what she is gonna look like in swap force and she has a weird black suit thing on is this what shes gonna look like?

I hope either the forgotten 8 all get a S2 (S3, whatever) or all get a lightcore.

Then the 4 newlanders that didnt get a lightcore get one, 8 fan favorites and 8 brand new lightcore characters.

You're going to need Stealth Elf b/c Activision says you're going to have it, and like it!!!
