for a rating, some of you need to make your text wider. the DWI takes up the whole width on dummyZ's and kappa's kappatars. also, adding a stroke would help the visibility.

let me start, here is first teaching lesson...

readable font and colors usage (this is only an example)

you see here i don't mix font with a font that is less readable, i stick to one font that will scale down the best in readable form. also i don't use colors that are very like the colors in the picture.

the font size of the text "claws & saws" are 19,5pt in size, "deal with it " are 23,6 pt. the size depend on what font you will be using so it may differ for each font. but as you see the text is perfect fit for the picture this again may differ with another picture. each avatar is special made and these details much be adjusted to each avatar.

what is standard and must be used for all is 100x100 for every avatar, this is max size in the picture. also the avatar must not go over 30KB(kilobytes) in file size or you will not be able to use and upload to the darkspyro.

i use photoshop7 for all my avatar making. why use old photoshop program, because its simple and easier to learn than the latest version. also photoshop7 take less hd space on your computer and have all you need for making avatars.

here is a yt vid on "how to make avatars", here you see how to set size and the use stroke for text etc..


now its all up to you guys to find one style and look for the second edition kappatars, that you all will use.... cant have 1000 different looking second kappatars or it will be just an ordinary different avatar...

i know you guys must find the style of the second edition, it cant be looking like the first edition... so keep up experimenting i just gave you a few hints...

i suggest you find another font to different it from the first edition... but it must be good to read and be readable when scaled down...

You've got a point Kappa, I just need to wait for the others so I can discuss it with them, in the mean time I remade the Roller Brawl Claws and Saws DWI Kappatar. (Changed the outline of the slogan and the background and text color)

You can't outline the text on paint, or can you?

i can do just fine without it, but no, i dont think so

I use the outline to help bring out the text more, without it sometimes the text gets hard to read.

That is just it I wanna outline text but you can't on paint.

Did you use the brush tool to make the glasses because you're supposed to use the pencil tool to make it lock pixelated

that would be really hard

It's not really that hard once you get use to it, the best way to do it is to zoom in into the picture, I'll teach you how to make it through PM later.

I made it with pencil then coloured it in.

If you use photoshop, the pencil tool makes pixelated pictures perfect fro sprites. If you make the glasses on Photoshop using the pencil tool it should look like this:

Okay I know how to outline and I will make a new avatar better than this-it didn't turn out right.
