How Contagious Is Your Toy Collecting? [CLOSED]

In my house, my son plays the Wii version while I like the PS3 so I can get trophies. He doesn't like me sharing, so I have to go buy my own toys. I know some folks like GameMaster has a different set for different upgrade paths.

My question today is simple: What's your toy arrangement at your house...it can be your own personal set up or a family situation where family members have their own toys.

I decide which ones can be open and keep them in my room when we aren't playing with them. Any variants I buy that cost more than retail are MINE

I have my collection - I live on my own - and my nephews share a collection. I play XBox, they play Wii. When we get together we share figures (I used a labelmaker to put my name on the bottom of each of mine to avoid mix-ups) and we all play all of them/any of them. They have some characters I don't, I have (I think) some they don't.

Since I play in my bedroom, I don't have a lot of stable, flat surface around to put them on, but I have this box laying around. Usually when I play, I put one of each element (lately all Giants except for Magic of course) in a semi-circle on the box, in the order I would need them if opening the vault, so if I decide to open the vault I can just go one by one. In the middle of the semi-circle I put some of my useful magic items, especially the potion, Sparx, the ghost swords and the anvil. I also keep Stealth Elf and Trigger Happy around. Both as my two banks for paying for group items (Auric), Stealth Elf to cut through things fast, and Trigger Happy to work on his Mage Quest.

There's probably a skylander on every shelf in our house. Its just me and my fiance, and he likes certain ones i dont. so he can have dibs on them. I dont need to buy my own. I even have a series 2 zap at work on my desk.. so yes my collection is contagious and every where haha.

That feel being an only child.
That feel when my parents don't play.

They help me out though in looking which is nice. Thankfully though I don't need to get an extra set or anything which is nice I suppose.

I live with my bf of 6 years and our kitty, so it's never been an issue (I have the entire collection of S:SA and Giants- so far)!! He has his games (like COD) and I have mine (we share some too, like Zelda)... the few times he's played with me to give it a try, he played as characters I don't really use or like much... such as Trigger Happy (he likes him a lot) and Slam Bam, but he doesn't really like the game so I usually play it when he's playing Diablo III or Torchlight on the comp!! smilie Sometimes when I go to my parent's house I'll play with my youngest bro (he's in high school) and we have our own characters we use!! smilie

Oh so my question was a little misleading. I was asking about the skylander arrangement, which I still want to know...

Also along those lines I want to know how many of each character(s) you have. For example, in my situation, father has a rather medicore collection while son has it all. I do however have a boxed collection of SSA and SG, but I won't play those. So, I'm a playa and a collecta. I haven't started chasing those crazy variants yet, just looking for the "common" variants like Gnarly Tree Rex, Royal Double Trouble, Dark Spyro, Legendaries, etc. I'll eventually get to the Glitter, GITD, clear etc variants.

Dare I ask, but how so? Using it as a rewards/punishment system?

Welp, I'm actually quite controlled about my collection.

I've got the 32 SSA figures, plus I'm only standard Jet Vac, Thumpback, Eye Brawl, and Ninjini shy of having the standard Giants figures.

I'm waiting on S2 Wrecking Ball because I've got one of each element of S2 reposes.

I'm also four Lightcores shy of the whole lot.

I'm not remotely interested in Legendaries, recolours, glitters, glow in the dark, whatever.

My girlfriend and I have our own little collection. She buys really cool ones like Prism Break that I originally wanted to get, but nabs them before I have the chance. So I play on hers from time to time, but god help me if I maxed one of them out lol.

Also Pokenerd, so it's really an animal hoarding thing... oh well! Pixels and figures don't smell or need food smilie

Myself and my son love skylanders. I think I am addicted I have already started saving for Swap Force and I am not a saving up kind of guy.

Getting back on topic. We just share all of the toy's. For the first game we got them all except Ghost Roaster and Terrfin. For the second game we got all new one's all the legendary and all giants except ninjini. My son was furious with me when I got flashwing at level 15 as that was a christmas gift he got.

I am still working on a storage sollution as I want them organised and easily accessable, the Mrs wont let me have them on the shelving where the DVD's are.

I am that obsessed I have created a spreadsheet to keep track of all levels and upgrades :)

My little sis and I each have our own collection. My mom doesn't play video games and my dad uses mine when he occasionally plays on the weekend. My sister buys whatever she likes and i'm in the process of buyign the complete collection of giants (Newlanders, Series 2, Giants). I wish I knew about skylanders last year so I could have all the series 1 and not worry about series 2, oh well.

My son and I share our collection, we have 109 Registered Skylanders.
This does not include some variant duplicates: Green Gem S2 Prism Break; Purple Lip Chill; GITD Wrecking Ball; Custom Tree Rex; Green Gill Grunt;
Dismembered Hot Head - Won him in the Frito Lay Promo, Already had one so we attempted (Ok, I attempted) to make his hands glow. Lets just say its a project in work that I dont see it having a happy ending.
