Which Skylanders do you think are overpowered? Which new ones do you think will be? EDIT: Which ones do you think are underpowered?

All the Giants.
Both paths of Pop Fizz. Ice path Chill. (Maybe) Both paths of Hot Dog. Landmine path Sprocket. (Though this is a HUGE maybe) Spear path Fright Rider. (The spear will do 42 damage from a standard swipe so I daresay he'll be a superior Voodood!) |

I must be doing something wrong then because whenever I want to die quickly, Ignitor is my go to guy.

/agree with ignitor.
OPINION BASED If fighting against any: Eruptor/Volcanor Drobot/Masterblaster And if fighting against melee: Bash on the tail path. Slam bam/Blizzard Brawler. Sunburn/Blazedragon Stealth Elf/PookBladeSaint (pretty sure that is what its called) If fighting against Ranged: Ignitor/SouloftheFlame (Because his "Soul" can chase ranged down. it depends on arena though. if you picked Wheel of power then its probably not gonna end well for him).

In all honesty I probably should have specified that he's only really overpowered in PvP, but is just okay in Single Player. The trick with him in PvP Arena Battle Mode is very simple: Do not attack with either of his two sword abilities, use only the fire spirit. At the start of the match, find a cosy hiding spot where his armour will be fairly safe and start "remotely" attacking with his fire spirit repeatedly by releasing the fire spirit, running towards the opponent, burning them once or twice and then using the attack button to explode and start again. Rinse and repeat. If the opponent decides to run in and attack Ignitor's suit of armour, they've fallen for your trap: End your current fire spirit run by pressing the attack button to explode, and then take control of Ignitor and run towards the opponent. Start spamming the fire spirit attack on their face, using the attack repeatedly at close range as if it were a melee attack, pressing the attack button if needed to explode so you can launch the fire spirit again. If you can get Ignitor close enough so that all three of the flame salvos connect, Ignitor will now be doing a higher damage output than any other character in the game can compete with. With practice, even Level 15 Giants can be knocked down in a matter of seconds.

that would explain it. I don't do much PvP (my wife doesn't like us being opponents - she prefers co-op play) and vs. monsters Ignitor usually gets his butt handed to him as monsters go to town on his empty suit while he is busy frying things elsewhere

I don't think so! His anchor strikes slowly and one of his combos leave him vulnerable, plus his belly slide is almost impossible to land. While I do think he is OP, I don't find him the most OP, he still has flaws that make certain characters stronger than he is.

Double Trouble is overpowered because he can achieve at or close to the same results as all the other characters we're mentioning with no effort or strategy whatsoever. He's so newbie friendly that literally anyone can pick him up and destroy most PVP and Story opponents. While I must say that there are better characters out there (several of them), they all require significantly more effort, finesse and strategy than Double Trouble for only slightly better results.

I also find that Whirlwind on tempest dragon's a very overpowered character.Taking flight and spamming clouds is enough to shut down many characters, at least when Whirlwind is in my hands. Drill sergant on Megadozer(WITHOUT the wow pow) has become a b*tch at keep away in my brother's hands, he has become one of the few characters at our house who stands a decent chance against Channeler Double trouble, who I often play, as well as making our Treefolk charger Tree rex cry.

I love Thumpback's anchor path and did think both the damage and the range/AoE were overpowering at first, but the reality is, the AoE is hard to aim precisely, there is a large "blind spot" inside the max range, his combos are hard to trigger and despite how cool the whirlpool is, it is slow, leaves him vulnerable while creating it and the damage isn't all that great on it. Yes, he's a big heavy hitter, but a fast, agile attacker with a consistent damage output can take him

While I'm not denying that those two take no effort to play, the results are nowhere near as good as DT's. Double Trouble is a top-tier guy that doesn't even require any work, or even for the player to be good at the game, to dominate most of the roster. |

^ Heh Heh Heh, yeah I'm just kidding. You actually thought I'd pick those guys?
But seriously S2 is a beast with his Wow Pow and in PvP if you use it correctly, he's like borderline-Overpowered (though it depends on the arena) on Water Weaver.

Prism Break is way overpowering. I used to dominate wth eyebrawl, double trouble and stealt elf, but that wowpow beam on prismmancer is hard to beat consistently. Only hex skullbuddy will shut him down. I couldnt believe how he obliterated Eyebrawl.

Not for PvP, his anchor strikes too slowly to cause that much of a threat, and while his whirlpool combo is cool, it's very slow and leaves him vulnerable. It also has a blind spot that makes it tricky to aim at a distance and he has a low DPS, anyone fast with high DPS can drop the anchor on him; especially Stealth Elf and Fright Rider.

In my experience, there are only 2 really cheap characters: s2 terrafin and s2 chop chop. Both have high damage outputs, and can hide for the whole fight without taking any damage. Admittedly, terrafin is more cheap due to his dodging of ALL attacks, but chop chop is almost as unstoppable. Most fights i can win without taking any damage using either of them.

To you guys saying Double Trouble: Are you serious? I must be doing something wrong because I can barely get a decent hit with him. And I got S1 and S2, each on different paths...Maybe I just haven't noticed because I haven't finished upgrading him.

Ugg, I haven't played enough Giants Story lately, and I've mainly been doing Heroics and finishing SA PC. So I don't know who I would say is overpowered. I think I can make a few guesses though. This is just for Story though since I play Battle only casually now. Though I think the overpowered characters are not as unbalanced as they used to be, because a lot of the time above Normal difficulty you now can't just tank hits from every single thing and mash the buttons.
I'm sure I missed a few, but you get the gist of what I use to get time goals if I'm desperate... |
