Probably Swap Force

i would pick swap force because it would be harder to find it the pokemon x and y and im a fan of pokemon as well

pokemon is only on one platform so i dont think its that 'direct' of a competitor.

There is no competition between the two. This is when games come out for the holiday season. Between October and November. Its not a big deal at all.

I am getting Swap Force AND X and Y.

Id like to get both but I don't have a 3ds.There was never a reason to get one but now I regret it.I'm getting Swap Force in Fall and a 3ds with Pokemon Y for Christmas.

I thought this too, I am going to get X/Y not SSF. X/Y looks better... ALOT.. In my opinion. I don't think that Skylanders will last until 2015, maybe 2014. Pokemon has been a steady franchise that is all just more than a complete set in the first game alone. Saves about 1000$. Pokemon will go for awhile longer, Skylanders not really.

Im getting Pokemon Y before SF simply because, even though we dont know yet, I dont want to miss any event exclusive Pokemon that will be there at start...IE, Genesect for B2 and W2........

Though if there wont be EE Pokemon, I will go pick Y up for my Bday in mid-December..

Not a fair comparison. Pokemon has been around for almost twenty years, and has spanned across multiple kid generations. Heck, my son liked Pokemon and he's served our country for eight years and is now living the single life...others have since gotten married and had children.

By comparison, Skylander's book of fate is still to be written. An infant.

Pokemon X and Y, Skylanders Swap Force, Disney Infinity, Oh My! Wallets will be hunted to extinction by Disney, Acti, and Game Freak!

My loyalty is to Pokemon first and this isn't just a regular old Pokemon, they have really reworked it!

I'll do what I always do with Skylanders, get it later. However, like in Giants, I started getting figures I was interested in early. It made playing the game for the first time a lot more exciting for me IMO.

i enjoy pokemon but it gets pretty stale, i mean some people think giants didnt change much from SSA...check out the last 20 years of pokemon games, this new x/y is the biggest change since it came out. (and all thats changed is the camera angle )

Getting Pokemon, but I don't think it'll be much a competitor for Skylanders.

The third generation added a bunch of new stuff (these changes are also why the pokemon you got in Gen1 and Gen2 couldn't migrate). But yeah, Pokemon updates have always been cosmetic.

However saying the only thing that's changed is "camera angle" is a gross incorrect statement. The 3D graphics and the fact that the Pokemon actually move and do moves (ala the Pokemon Stadium games) is huge (like..jumping in this game ).

Pokemon BW2 came out only a few weeks before Giants was launched. There will be overlap between the two, but I don't see it effecting sales at all, even if this IS a new generation.

The way I see it, people will more than likely get one or the other, probably Pokemon when it comes out, and Swap Force for the holidays.

Since my mom buys the games it does n't matter for me. But I'd say go for SF

Dude That's a Lot, Also The Only Reason My Wallet Will Be Drained Is I Have To Buy The 3DS. Pokemon Is The Only Reason i'm Getting One However I Suppose I Can Get Skylanders Also For The 3DS While I'm At It.

Actually, it has been in USA for 14 years, 16 in Japan. But, if you do the math you do save tons of money which is better in the long run. I am very loyal to Pokemon. It isn't a fair comparison, but think about it.

37 + 48 + SF = Just over 100. and if they make a bout 40~ each game, they can't keep up with Pokemon, which has a larger fan base.

I gotta save for a AC3 PS3 bundle ($300), 17 more giants figures ($165), lego legends of chima, lego Star Wars the clone wars, lego castle, and all 32 swap characters...

I'm getting both. Also, pokemon is A LOT cheaper, unless you have to buy a 3ds too. Pokemon is also for a different audience than skylanders. Although a lot of skylander fans play pokemon as well. But, I agree with Hexinwishes. Pokemon comes first. At least for me. I also think that it's coming out sooner.
