Every year they release core Skylanders and unqiue Skylanders, like the Giants and Swap Force. Most likely Skylanders 4 will have unique Skylanders of some sort. I'm still a fan of the normal sized Skylanders, so I will be getting the 16 new core skylanders for sure. As for the Swap Force, they can be costly if they sell for $15.

I might go for most of the new regular Skylanders, but I'd only go for Swap Forcers that I really liked the look of.

For the reposes, I'd go with characters I liked if they were included (eg Stealth Elf), but I'd buy a reposed Dino-Rang in a heart beat. A repose would likely mean him having his Obsidian armour, which is awesome.

probably no lightcore (it's hard for my collector nature to reject these since they are on the posters and considered part of the "main" release, but they really add nothing and are in fact weaker than their regular counterpart)
and I will never ever bother with variants.

I'll try to get the most I can, all the new ones I suppose definitely.
I haven't even got Chill for giants yet so IDK

...I have no interest on the Lightcore or any oldball variant gold/silver/plaid/azure/transparent/etc. The *returning* Skylander reposes will likely be played by ear. If they are interesting enough I might pick them up. Especially if they are characters that didnt get redone with the Giants game. Otherwise it will be a matter of how my wallet can handle things at the time.

At least 1 Swaplander of each Element (all of which a different movement class too), my favourite of the returning 'landers and all LC's. I don't really have any plans to buy any of the normal characters at the moment, but if there are some I like then I might buy a few.

That's assuming the "rules" for Lightcore figures stay the same as they do in Giants.

You've got to think SOMEONE in their design team probably checks various game forums to collect data on how to make figures sell better. "Hmmmm, nobody really seems interested in the Lightcores, and they haven't sold as well as we'd hoped. Guess we'll need to add those gates that can only be opened by Lightcore figures of the proper element into Swap Force."

while the shamelessness of that would piss me off, OTOH I would at least then have more excuse to buy them. Right now, I just use the 2 I have on speed runs - abusing the Lightcore Blast during boss battles to end things quicker before switching back to my regular speed runners

I'm currently planning to purchase all of them. Hopefully, the releases will be distributed at an even space, making it easier to afford.

We'll be getting all the Swap Force characters and new core Skylanders for sure. We'll see what the new LC and RFF characters have to offer before considering getting them.

S3 Stealth Elf looks cool. Can't wait for round 3!

I'm limiting myself to 51 Skylanders in all. I need 4 more from Giants, which would be 40 in all. I'll get 1 Swap Force of every element (except Water. I'll get both. 49 Total), and I'll get s3 Stealth Elf and Roller Brawl. 51 in all.
