Giants in Swap Force [CLOSED]

I wonder if the Giants will just be treated like regular Skylanders in SF or if they'll have "Feats of Strength" types of things again to make them necessary to unlock certain areas.

I doubt there will be feats of strength, as no giants are getting reposed.I may be wrong, but that's what I think will happen.

I doubt it to. It would be a bit unfair to add the Giant areas if the game doesn't come with a Giant or there are no new Giants.

Wait, since giants are NOT getting reposed, I'm going to have to ask for eye brawl for my birthday because he isn't getting reposed.

My opinion is that it would be nice to have at one thing that only a Giant could gain access to. Then in Skylanders 4 have something for the Giants and something for a Swap Force to unlock. It just gives these new "types" of Skylanders ongoing value into the future games.

Yeah. I want the gaints to do SOMETHING in swap force. Otherwise, they will feel a bit pointless to me.

Right, it cheapens the value of the type of Skylander if there are really only "special" in their debut game.

I'm sure they'll do something. In fact, I'm sure they'll keep manufacturing and selling Giants after the release of Swap Force, and the best way to sell those is to have them do something. S2 might go out of production, but I sincerely doubt the Giants themselves are a one-year deal. Money has been huge with them. They wouldn't even need to make new molds to sell tons of the same Giants next fall, and I suspect that is exactly what will happen. There may only be 56 NEW figures, but those 56 are unlikely to be all we see on the shelves. In-game functionality for Giants increases Giant sales, validates the past investments of current owners, and gives anyone who has no Giants at all plenty of reason to get one. It even allows them to make a Tree Rex single pack to sell like a totally new product!

I hope Giant areas are still in, as that helps make the levels longer. So, each level, in my opinion, should have Feats of Strength (Giant Areas), Elemental Areas, and Swap Zones.

Since the game looks so blasted awesome now, I want to see what all of the characters look like with the new graphics engine.

I think that since they weren't listed in what is coming out for SSF that everyone has deduced they aren't getting reposed.

not reposed, but not retired. i believe that the giants will still have powers and such, and tfb will still make them.

This 256 number is low, Legendary and in-game color palette variants aren't included in that total.

There will probably be areas that are much easier and faster to access when using a giant, such as bomb walls placed in a certain way with no bombs around that giants can smash, but regular and swappers can't, but a much longer, trickier route around that wall to the item behind it. There most probably won't be feats of strength, as that was something advertised exclusively for giants. I'm sure they'd still have ther chompie/spiderlings squishing walks though!

What about elemental gates? You don't get one of each element in the starter pack.

^ But you can buy a Skylander of each element. If they don't release S2 Giants (which they won't) then they won't have Giant areas because there's the possibility that you won't be able to buy any Giants if you don't already own any, meaning there's the possibility that you could never complete the game 100%.

They may not get reposed, but I think that having Giants would just give you a sort of shortcut, that even though it could be accessed by a normal or swaplander, having a Giant would be easier.......Bomb Walls come to mind....

this i could see happening, i do get the feeling we wont see any giant only areas, though id love to see them myself, just as id like to see one or 2 giants get a repose.

It's a possibility, if they don't hide any teleporters/bounce pads/treasure like they did in Giants. If they were just used in the sense of making it easier to kill large groups of enemies at once then I could see them adding boulders.

hmm I think theyll skip giants abilities in this game. the 8 new abilities in SSF is good enough to have decent gameplay. besides its SSF game so their on the spotlight while giants had theirs in SG.

Nobody will ever "100% Complete" Skylanders: Giants either (despite what the game file may claim), so that's not really a factor. People who have completed every Heroic Challenge with every Giant (including Scarlet Ninjini), please raise your hands.

You'll be able to BEAT Swap Force without needing a giant, as well as be able to get every trophy/achievement with just the starting characters - that's a mandatory requirement for the games. But if it'll help them sell off the swarm of Swarm that will still be on the shelves next October, you can guarantee some treasure chests and soul gems will require a Giant to access.

Yes I'm pretty sure they are going to do something with giants and swap force that can be used in future games. I'm gonna feel used if there's no point using giants. they deserve to shine for another game. smilie smilie

but you can still find spyro's adventure packs out there, so maybe they will do something like that.

Giants, even if they don't have special areas, are pretty strong and powerful characters in their own right, so I imagine they'd still sell.

I hope they address the Giants in some way, if they don't, it would be like completely ignoring the Swap Force mobility areas in Skylanders 4. It doesn't have to be prevalent, but each new game should acknowledge the special group Skylanders from each previous game in my opinion. By doing that, they keep the "magic" alive from each previous game.

Pah well I'm about to. I've gotten to Level 15, gotten all upgrades, finished each Quest, and completed every Heroic with all of my 87 (add a few more for my dupes) Skylanders. Just 12 to go! smilie
