Hi guys, i contacted activision for the release date of thumpback, but the link is not working.... can someone contact activision for the release date of thumpback ? thanks

Why can't you just wait. Why the rush? I hope everytime someone asks acti they reply "when he is on store shelves"

Activision doesn't respond to stuff like that.

I keep telling you it will not be until next year. The UK just got wave 2. They will not release a new wave unroll next year. It will be early so that kids can use there gift cards on them, but because of the holidays they will not be shipping any thing out till January.

So Fatherofskyland, what is your source on that?

I have no proof. But I didn't think I would need it. Common sense would lead any one in the right mind to see that thumpback or wave 3 will be out before Christmas or the first of the year.

Unreleased 'normal' - Shroomboom (single). Hot Dog, Jet Vac (maybe)

So if they release Wave 3 before Christmas they have a maximum of 2 Waves for 2013...which takes us to maybe April...it's hardly extending the life of the game is it?

I'm guessing Wave 3 will be Jan, Wave 4 end March, Wave 5 end May although like SSA they might release .5 Waves re-issueing earlier figures.

They didn't realize how big Skylanders would be, and under produced them. They have made it clear they will not do that this year. In fact, that goes beyond common sense into the realm of right in front of your face, since they flat out said they this year will be different. Now again, knowing all this, where is the proof that we will not see wave 3 this year?

Honestly, either side of thinking this is not outlandish. I don't get all of the "fighting" or "arguing" over this. They will be out when they are out. Activision may want to to release some before Christmas or they may want to extend it out. One thing that we have yet to see is stuff popping up on ebay saying that people have it in hand. That tells me that we are still atleast a week out from the next release.


I think the big mistake activision made last year was not having enough stock, more than waiting too long. If they have enough stock which it appears this year they are doing a much better job of, the toys will sell.

Most items released for christmas typically hit late october or in the month of november. If it isn't released the first or 2nd week of december it wasn't intended for the christmas rush as most smart consumers have already completed their holiday shopping.

Skylanders Giants was released for the holiday season in late october. It wasn't released for a fall shopping season. These guys know what they are doing.

LC Jet-Vac is. Standard Jet-Vac is only in starter packs. But yes. You are essentially correct.

Your premise is very flawed there, gamecock. Most people have not completeld their Christmas shopping by by early December, not even close. In fact, most people haven't even started their Christmas shopping by then. We make a big deal about Black Friday, but the last two weeks before Christmas are when most people buy gifts. Most people find buying stuff for themselves to be fun, but buying gifts is considered a hassle, and there is a tendency for people to put off doing things they don't like until the last minute. Therefore, an early December release is the perfect time to get new Skylanders out for Christmas.

No, I'm not reading it as "wave 3 will come out", I'm just saying last year is not usable as an indicator for this year. You are pointing out how they released the waves last year, but that has no bearing at all on what may or may not happen this year, since they flat out said they are doing things differently.

What makes me think we will see wave 3 before Christmas is Activision saying on the official Skylanders Facebook page in early November that we will see more figures released before Christmas. Also, the new Portal Masters club, which started early this week and prominently promises to email people when new figures are released.

Doing things differently can mean different things to different people. It could also be the blog writer blowing smoke in his article. It's from Weather.com? At least Kotaku is a gaming site. LOL.

Again, I'm not saying you're wrong but calling other people's opinions and assumptions "outlandish" is a bit harsh IMO. Agree to disagree, I suppose. In any case, I don't really have an opinion either way on these waves. That's not a "blog", that's a news source. They are two very different things, so we can count on someone there not "blowing smoke". Also, "doing things differently" means one thing and one thing only - it won't be the same as last year.

Activision said in November that more characters would be released before Christmas - Fact - Again, they actually said that.

You may just have assumptions, but I have facts.

Instead of making the initial release of Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure figures very scares they plan to make the initial release of Skylanders: Giants figures more available than they were last year in comparison.

Easy enough to read but still isn't hard evidence. Unless it is flat out said by Activision that certain figures or waves or whatever will be released by Christmas it's still an assumption not a fact.

It was said flat out by Activision, that we would have new figures before Christmas. There is no other way to read that besides new figures. Anyway, I'm done. I've proven my point pretty well, if you want to still disagree, that's up to you. Like I said, you can also disagree the sky is blue, but that won't change the color of the sky.

On 11/26th they annouced the Portal Club (still not concrete proof that Wave 3 is coming out before Christmas). I checked all of the posts in November and didn't see anything regarding "new figures before Christmas". Please feel free to link that particular post as I'm not saying it never happened but it's easy to say "I saw it but they took it down!" .

Also, Legendary Stealth Elf and GitD Sonic Boom are "new figures" and came out last week. According to you, the post about new figures was made in early November and so those 2 would count as before Christmas.

I was just going to mention those 2 longsh0t lol and Derek, why you stop posting on the proof of wave 3 topic in the giants section? When it comes to the release of new figures i find the ebay is the most reliable source for figuring out when we can expect to see them.

I'm willing to bet about 98% of people who have Giants has at least one Jet-Vac, LC or otherwise. The last thing I want to see next wave is a single pack of him.
