I was messing around with Series 2 Sonic Boom the other night when, it told me that my toy had a problem. So I called activision to see if they could replace it instead of spending money on a new one. In case people were not aware of it their is a way to fix a broken figure.

1. You put the figure on the portal and wait for the broken toy screen.

2. Hit start and go out to the main menu. Go to the settings from that and in the general menu it will say reset broken toy. Do that three or four times to make sure everything is cleared off of the toy and it should work. They told me in about 90% of the cases it works.

However, this will of course wipe out any thing you have saved on the figure but, it beats having to send it in or buy a new.

It worked for me. It beats having them to send you another one. I sent them a picture to prove I had it. However, it seemed until I called back that nothing had been done with it.

Cool! But in another post (I can't remember which one) a person said that they could request for a new one and Activison will give you the Skylander for free if you have a reason and proof.

That is the reason I called them was for a new one. However, I really just wanted mine to work. This way I did not have to wait for them to send me one/

so its not like the first game where you couldnt do anything at the error screen other then take the toy off the portal to make it go away?

Yep. You can try this. If it does not work. Then you can try and get them to send you a new one.

so there is a new way now to fix broken figurines, great... i had a dive in the forum and dig up these threads... may be of interest to some here...

Yes, but some broken figures don't give you the broken toy screen. *cough*thevoodoodisentinarequestforatactivisionsupport*cough*
