Skylanders how it should have been [CLOSED]

This is a topic about our opinion of what would make the skylanders saga better.

According to me, the gamplay would be lot's better if it was like Twinsanity instead of a generic dungeon crawler with character with little to no usefull speciality.

Think about each character would have his own gameplay instead of just different attack.

  • Gill Grunt could use his harpoon as hookshot and attach it to far away target to travel canyon and climb up wall
  • Flying character can really fly, not just hovering on the floor, flying like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeZMooLPAHI
  • Trigger Happy can use his gun to shoot trigger target, and have shooting phase a bit like this



Also not so unique ability(because 32 unique ability to complete the game would be cruel to your wallet) Like: digging, invisibility, bombing, super strenght, rolling etc.

And elemental ability will be a nice +. Like instead of just oppening a door:

  • The life skylanders can grow plant
  • Water skylanders can enter underwater area
  • Magic Skylanders can cast spell
  • And tech can repair thing

Minor one,Hex should fly.If she floats,why can't she cross even a little pond? D:
And the gameplay could be improved a lot,even without jumping.Most levels were so straight-foward that a dashing character can beat it way below the time limit,or have extremely easy puzzles.Hopefully,Giants will fix most of it. Another thing it really needs it actual connection to the characters' backstories,like Legendary Treasure relating to them,or even special/extra levels for them.
...Oh,and talking about the extra levels,Extra bosses as well. Not just an enemy in a hard-to-reach place,but bosses than can only be unlocked by doing certain things,and have their own strategy and such.

I agree with all of these completely. I think each character would actually have unique moments rather than simply having different attacks.

I think that multiple upgrade path branches would be cool. It would be better because each Skylander would be different. For instance, with how it is now, if you had five Zooks from five different people, chances are their paths would be the same. But if you make intricate webs of upgrades, each Zook would be different. Oh, and all of the upgrade combinations would all be great in their own way, so it wouldn't just be that one path overpowers the other.

I would like more complex attack/combat choice. Like more RPGish (FF Crystal Chronic come in mind)
For exemple voodood can learn many different spells during his adventure and unlock new one as is XP grow up...

Yea, this kinda goes along with my idea of upgrade webs. It would add depth to the characters, it would make buying all of the upgrades take more than a half an hour, and it would make each character more fun to play.

The ingame discounts should have been higher. Also:

  • Whirlwind's Rainbow Singularity should have done more than six damage
  • Trigger Happy's Soul Gem should have been to shoot coins at allies to give them treasure
  • Flying should be freeflight, none of this "hovering" stuff everyone talks about
  • Have Prism Break's and Wrecking Ball's attacks be easier to control
  • There should have been other bosses that weren't Kaos and his minions
  • Have the treasure chests give more treasure
  • Have the characters be able to charge, like in the 3DS version
  • Have up to four players in Battle Mode???
  • JUMPING. DO IT NOW

Other than all that, it was okay.

I laugh amusingly when Jet Vac and Cynder are "flying" but a mysterious barrier prevents them from moving--and I'm not talking about game borders--areas where it should be ok.

I think this is an awesome idea for the franchise to let it continue "growing up" a little on each game to offer up variety and challenge. This is kinda like how Swap Force is going to work, by the way--but I would like UNIQUE content for EVERY level that's SPECIFIC to each skylander.

Nuff said.

if you take out the 'dungeon crawler' part i would have not looked at the direction of skylanders in the first place...
