Yes, he does lay an egg. Most of us had noticed this since June. There was a topic about this previously with the topic opener wondering if Jet-Vac was male or female lol

Is Jet Vac g*y or something? Also sorry if I shouldn't have put that there, but I don't know how to do the spoiler reveal thing.

No, him laying an egg when he saw the Giants is a common visual device to show fear or surprise, like *****ing bricks.

I remember this argument about Jet-Vac's gender smilie. Here is the link to the original discussion: //forum.darkspyro.net/spyro/viewposts.php?topic=54666

Here is what I thought about it:

Quote: OpalOsprey
Yes, Jet Vac is a male. A lot of cartoons and animation use the egg laying to express that the character is in shock. It isn't only used with bird characters but other animals too such as mammals which don't even lay eggs. There is an episode (don't remember which, sorry) in Tom and Jerry were tom lays an egg when frightened (there are many other cartoons that do this but I can't remember all of them now. I think Courage the Cowardly Dog was another one).

- - - - - - -- -

But Yoshi from Mario will always remain a mystery to me…( I know that he's supposed to be a male but I want to say that “he’s” genderless like Quina from Final Fantasy 9 or Godzilla from the American Godzilla movie)

You can't truly add a lot of emotion to text since it's not like speaking to someone in person.

Keep in mind, Jet-Vac was created on the same planet that gave us the movie "Barnyard", the movie with a male cow with udders. Cause that's how that works. >__> And apparently the term "Bull" didn't exist in the producer's mind since that's what a "male cow" is supposed to be called.

Honestly, compared to that stupid movie, I can accept a male Scottish Bald Eagle that can lay eggs and has a vacuum powered jet-pack that he uses for flight instead of his wings.

Okay, it's still pretty silly. smilie

^ Haha, that movie (and cartoon series) has always bugged me about the steer with utters smilie (they even had bulls in the movie (or cartoon, I'm not sure now). So do they believe that a bull is a completely different animal altogether?

But I agree, people shouldn't take animation seriously.

anyway when it comes to jet vac and the egg, no male birds lay egg so clearly jet vac is a female... no doubt about that.

THERE WAS A TV SHOW?! 0_o

*googles immediately*

WHAT?! 3 SEASONS?! 58 EPISODES?! How is it that the greatest animated show of all time "Dilbert" only got 30 episodes, yet a mysterious TV series of BARNYARD I never even knew about had 58 episodes?!

Think I'll go sit in my "sobbing corner" holding my Season 1 Thomas the Tank Engine VHS tapes and a sob a mournful sob for the children's television programming of today.

^ Haha smilie! I have to agree with you though, the variety and types of cartoons that they have for kids these days seem quite scarce and lacking creativity/imagination. I don't care for many cartoons of the 20's (most of the current ones that I like began in the late 90's and are still showing today) but the 90's had some great cartoons (but nothing beats the good 'ol cartoons such as Pop Eye and Tom & Jerry).
