Aside from the redundant prices (70$ is a retarded amount to pay for a game with 22 levels, plus it only gives you 3 figures) short length of gameplay, and putting Spyro's name in the title; my only complaint in the first game was the suprisingly easy difficulty. Enemies were weak, bosses cheesy attacks that were easy to dodge (except the Doomsharks in Leviathan Lagoon & the final battle, they were a little hard to dodge but they hardly did any damage so it was still easy), puzzles gave you hints, no difficulty setting, food gives you more health than necessary, and you can use magic items to help you. It's even eaier if you use the overpowered characters like , , , ect.
They've announced a new difficulty setting for Easy, Medium, Hard, and Legendary/Nightmare (once you beat the game). I'm not too sure if Hard and Legendary/Nightmare mode will actually be difficult because the first game hasn't even been out for a year and they're kinda rushing the release (kinda like how SEGA did with Sonic 06, they never bothered to fix the numerous amount of glitches), I don't know if they're spending some time on it. I really hope they fix it and provide ALOT of difficulty, even difficult for the overpowered skylanders like and . I'd also like them to delay the release and add more levels, at least 36 would do (No adventure packs!! They already ripped us off with the Series 2 figures will new abilities and the option for multiple upgrade paths). Only 14 levels have been confirmed so far and the game will be out in about a month.
How do you guys think the new difficulty will go? I don't think Hard mode will provide much of a challenge, but time will tell......

I think it's an awesome idea especially for the older audience, I can't wait to play the game, not finishing it in a day or two.

Hints and difficulty were the worst in SSA. I've already posted in a topic about improvements that they should take them away. The puzzles were too easy and there were not enough bosses/mini bosses. There is also not enough repeatability. I don't like that there is less levels in SG but hopefully they are a LOT bigger, and I mean a LOT! If not, I'll just wait 'til my b'day to get it and spend my money on PB2 or PW2.

I think that it will be awesome to have it actually challenging. I am just concerned that the Giants will make it easier. From my knowledge, you need the Giants to open gates or destroy walls, so you might be required to play as the Giants that could easily be completely overpowered.
I am definitely starting with Hard. No questions asked.

I don't think the giants will be overpowered. They look like they will have alot of health and strong attack, but will be very slow and take alot of damage.
Skylanders like Eruptor and Prism Break are weak when you first buy them because they are slow moving and easily take tons of damage when surrounded by enemies. The same could happen for the giants. But I do agree on trying Hard mode first.

Yea, they are slow as hell. But that could possibly mean that those with movement enhancements (Flying, charge attacks, etc.) would be the overpowered ones. I don't mean to jump to conclusions here, but...

It probably won't do anything. Especially considering the current rumor is they only make enemies deal more damage.
In Chill's trailer there's a point she looks like she is in Kaos's Kastle... OHKOing enemies. That should never happen in such a late level. |

More difficulties are always a good thing. We'll just have to see how they pan out when the game is released.

So a Skylander can have both paths active at once now or they can just swtich paths anytime and have to pay again to upgrade the other path?

Both paths active at once, but only if you get the Series 2 remodels (No fair!); plus each remodel gets a new ability called a Wow Pow and some remodels light up when placed near or on your Portal of power.
I think of buying Series 2 , , and a few of the others because fo the wow pow and 2 paths active at once.

Pretty cool. Now here is what is needed for Skylander: (insert third game here)
1. Online (it can be co-op or versus, I don't care) of up to 4 players 2. More players (about 4) but more enemies appear with more players like in idk wizard101? (I used to play that) 3. More custom features (this is my opinion but it would be cool if you could have skylanders wearing t-shirts and such)

OK, this confirms the fact Crusher is going to be WAY overpowered, even with one path, those abilities (turn enemies into stone, shatter and reform, avoiding damage and swinging ridiculously oversized hammer.) are going to let him get out of anything. especially upgraded. ANYTHING!

Well I don't know. It was only said that the Series 2 models for the older Skylanders will be able to have both paths active, nothing said for the giants or new normal-sized skylanders. I don't think they'll do that for the Giants considering how they will be able to throw boulders, punch holes in the ground, move islands, and other things. And I don't think Crusher's exploding ability will make him over powered, I think he'll still take damage when he's shattered.

I love the idea of difficulty settings, so I'm glad they're throwing it in there. Still, I feel that there should be a boss at the end of each level, and then they can do a boss rush mode. That'd be awesome for a game like this with so many characters. So long as they made it so you can only have one Skylander throughout the whole boss rush. They could even set it up like in the Kirby games where you have the option to heal yourself with a limited amount of health restore items between fights. They could even have it be like Helper to Hero in Super Star Ultra where if you beat the boss rush with every character, you unlock something. Maybe a teaser trailer with a silhouette of a new character for Skylanders 3? Now THAT would would be a cool prize. : ) I think games these days don't give you enough of a prize for getting 100%. Heck, in Kirby's Dream Land 3 and Kirby 64 you couldn't even see the real ending of the games unless you got everything.
Basically, if a kid's series like Kirby can offer some big challenges and some secrets that you really have to work for, then so can Skylanders.

I think it'll be great. As long as you have to set it at the beginning of the save. And they have new trophies/achievements for finishing different difficulties.
