So I wanted to know why people liked Skylanders so much. Adults and children alike are smitten by it and I am personally 22 years of age and I love the game! Its just has beautiful world and I am a sucker for anything that involves the sky or the Ocean (I love Bioshock) the levels are very entertaining and colourful. And some of the humor i actually like. "we have a doodle of a problem!" and the rewards in the game are enough for me to continue playing. The figures are pretty detailed and being a collector of almost anything the figures almost instantly were the challenge i love! Anyway I just wanted to know what people loved about the game

Because it's the next generation of Spyro (kind of) and I've always bought the Spyro games. I've got to keep up with my little purple dragon.

Probably choosing the paths and upgrading

It's made to be as addictive and eye-catching as possible. Anyone who's ever played and enjoyed a game has probably checked out the display at some point or another, because it's a concept that sticks out at you. Even if you don't decide to give it a go, you're probably at least aware of it, and the fact that it's popular, just by going out and shopping. It helps that the game itself is good, addictive, and practically forces you to collect the characters, but it's the presentation, the aesthetic appeal, and the promise of an innovative experience that makes people want to take the proverbial dive.

I like collecting the regular set and the conventional variants. I find it more fun than the game itself.

That was one of the original reasons why I bought it. Its a Spyro game I have to have it.

It reminds me of Pokemon, and the toys are charming. Plus, new way of playing and data carryover.

I love the toys concept and the toys in general and Spyro is indeed in it (along with some other interesting looking characters) so..
Not counting the gameplay of course.

The gameplay is fun, the humor is surprisingly funny, and I love the toys. Battle mode also reminds me of Brawl. Hopefully one day there will be four player.

I thought a lot of it was kind of dry... but the stuff that did make me laugh I laughed so hard!!

There were a few things that appealed to me about Skylanders, and one of the most relevant has to be that you're not stuck with 1 character per element. You get to pick and choose which ones you like the most. Unfortunately, the downside is that not all characters are so balanced. However, even some of the not as powerful ones can still make it through the story line, you just might need to learn some ways to dodge attacks. One of the other aspects I like is the multi-functionality of the characters. You have a toy, but it's also a playable character in 2 games, since you can continue to play and have fun in Universe. Once I actually got the game (got started in Universe), I immediately loved Kaos, because I have been a fan of Invader Zim and if you watch the show, you'll quickly realize that Zim and Kaos may as well be one in the same. There's other talented voice actors as well, unfortunately some of the characters are a little abrasive and not as... fun. Add in that there's extra little rewards for the collector and it becomes a fun challenge outside the game to find them all. Since I mentioned the bad with the good on each one, the downside to being a collector is the cost associated with it. Collecting all of them can easily get expensive, unless you are EXTREMELY lucky finding deals and/or play the cards going from store to ebay to cover the costs.
