Skylanders in Nintendo Direct 6-21-12 [CLOSED]

Skylanders on the 3DS makes a special appearance in last night's Nintendo Direct. Not really anything new to reveal, but we get our first look at how the game will appear on the 3DS. (And I guess 3DS XL too)

If you notice at the end of the look, there appear to be coin objects off to the side of where Pop Fizz is jumping, which might mean we won't have to collect Radiance or crystals this time around.

They also make mention that the LightCore figures will have a bonus in the 3DS version as well.

Awesome, it's another platformer! Was worried about that bit when I heard Vicarious Visions wasn't doing Giants on 3DS.

Its a revamp of the original 3DS which gives it a bigger screen. Not too much of a big deal, but the video has the mockup of it when the part with Giants is on there, so that's possibly how it'll look on the 3DSXL

The XL has the same resolution as the normal 3DS. It's just bigger.

interesting they are not reusing the game engine.

it looks like the levels are just scaled up for giants (seems a bit cheap). the level designs look nicer than the first game though.


I hope it expands on the radient isles as they seemed a bit small. I hope there are at least the same number of levels. there will probably be less due to the extra data consumption from the added character models for giants.

but oh well. it seems activision is focusing only on the console version unlike in SA.

Looks good - I was worried about it as well, since I liked the first 3DS one, but it looks as though I have nothing to be concerned about smilie

We didn't get that in our Nintendo direct!

It was a different bad guy in the 3ds last time in comparison with the other consoles.
It could be kaos with the arkeyans this time but it is unlikely and hectore was murdered!

I hope Giants is good. The thing that worries me is that Skylanders was good but this one is made by a different company and all the other Spyro games on DS are pretty bad, Skylanders is the only good one.

The original idea for Skylanders came from TFB. And they're making the Giants for 360 and PS3 this time around as well as the Wii version.
