I personally haven't tried out Blaze Dragon, but according to Tash it is inferior to Flame Lord. It seems to be a lot like Channeler Dub Trubs, but doesn't lock on and makes you much slower. Still, I'm not forcing anyone to choose, just that Flame Lord is better, no contest
Bean Sprout put it well I think. Flame Lord has more damage options in that the Phoenix Dash and Teleport does far more damage down Flame Lord. The fact that HexDisciple touched upon in the fact that an opponent has 1/4 chance of actually hitting you is amplified since even if they do they will be taking 48 damage thanks to the flame streaks and teleport blast. You have an incredibly small time span to actually hit him, which means that melee characters really struggle. You're only chance is by using ranged attacks and playing keep-away-engage him directly and you will pay.

This is basically the entire summary of Blazethrower being inferior to Flame lord. And the comparison to the Eldritch beam is true. It is just not powerful enough to make up for all of the hinderances the flamethrower has. Ignitor101, I usually would use Megadozer DS instead of Drobot on my team because sometimes I don't think he is any fun, but I think, to most people, Master Blaster is better as it enhances, well, Drobot's whole place in Top Tier - his ability to easily and rapidly shoot lasers. Clockwork Dragon seems a little pointless as you upgrade the gears thath don't have good accuracy when you could just be doing so much damage with the accurate lasers.

I got a few new skylanders so I going to add them to my ranking list
Prism break Pros. Crystal setups are good when fully upgraded, armor is useful and a good upgrade to add in, Soul gem upgrade is useful as well Cons. Easy target, crystals are harder to set up, crystals don't summon close to you which can be good and bad at the same time. Recommended path Cystaleer I would put prism break in the top 20 for sure but probley not in the top 12, he is fun but not extreemely good. Lightningrod Pros. Attacks are rapid and have good range, Zapper field good at crowd control, grand lightning can travel over small walls and has good range. Cons. Only achieves greatness from long range, in close range with someone like voodood he's meat. Grand lightning isn't very strong without lotl path. Recommended path. typhoon titan No one likes typhoon titan but it helps him with his close range weakness to strong melees like ignitor voodood and steath elf. Anyway when you are close you are toast but when at long range he's a beast. I would but him in the top ten with S-elf tfin voodood ignitor dt bash drobot cynder and zook. He's kinda tied for 10th with dino rang... Voodood Pros. Zipline axe is BEAST move and axe is very good, Soul gem upgrade is very useful. All moves are superior in pve. Cons. Yes in pve it is very useful but tripwires are not in pvp at all. Axe is strong but isn't that fast sadly Recommended path. Maurderer Voodood is in the top ten for sure. He does have a weakness to long range lightning rod though, but he is superior to most close range characters excluding steath elf cynder terrafin and bash. Ignitor Pros. Very strong melee character, starts off strong and ends strong. flame form mortor is very good when fully upgraded, and blade despite being clunky is very good too. I take back that sunburn is the most powerful fire skylander. Cons. Blade may be strong but is clunky. when in flame form mortol mode can't control can still be hurt in unoccupied armor. Recommended path. Soul Of The Flame Ignitor is in the top ten no top five. He is a very good melee and can cause a large armount of damage. Zook Pros. Very strong melee as well. Bazooka is powerful. Barrier when fully upgraded is great. Mortar attack is useful for hitting enemys higher then you. Cons. Bazooka is strong but is a bit slow. Barrier when not fully upgraded is easy to destroy. Recommended path. floral defender Zook is in the top ten if not in the top five. He is good in pvp and pve. P.S. Flamelord is a better path for sunburn. It makes him one of the most destructive characters in the game, and flamethrower breath is already very good because of its hold duration.

Okay, so I got Cynder yesterday and I've been playing as her.
But I'm really undecided which path to pick for her: The path that strengthens her Shadow abilities or the path that strengthens her Lightning abilities. I'm mostly undecided since I have the PS3 version, and I've heard that one of her shadow abilities is glitched in this version where it doesn't slow down her enemies (actually, is this glitch only during P v P or is it with the in-game monsters, too?) So, thank you for the suggestions. |

#1258 Posted: 19:35:52 14/06/2012
Alright, I don't have Cynder, but I have used her, and on the PS3, I would choose the lightning path. If you played on Wii, I would use the shadow path, but without the slowing ghosts, I don't think that path is worth it. I mean, the damaging Shadiw Dash is kinda useless as it would leave you vurnerable and in a bad position if you used it as an attack. So, on the PS3, nether welder.

Okay. Its clear that drobot is one of the top five skylanders and is best on the mb path. All clockwork dragon does is make him good while master blaster makes him the 2nd best skylander. Yes he can beat steath elf in pvp and the only reason steath elf outclasses him in pvp is because of her soul gem upgrade, because if steath elf can't get close to drobot she's toast. Plus using afterburners/trusterflight to escape from close ranged characters can be a good strategy too while when you get far enough away to shoot them with the fully upgraded lasers on master blaster path. Master blaster Pros. Makes drobot the beast that he is, and the skylander we know and love. Dendrite focus crystals- eye blaster do even more increased damage Antimatter charges- eve blasters explode on contact doing damage to enemys Quadratic blasters- Lets you shoot lasers out of your wings as well Clockwork dragon Pros. Improves the bladegears well, and makes drobot better Depleted Uranium bladegears- bladegears do more increased damage Explosive bladegears- bladegears explode on contact doing damage to nearby enemies Tri spread bladegears- shoot 3 bladegears at once Both path perform about the same but master blaster is still better and is the path I recommended

Also, 's Soul Gem upgrade...is pretty much one of the worst.
I mean, if someone tries to recover a significant portion of health, the battle pretty much instantly turns into a stalemate, and in the time you are waiting for the recovery, provided you played smart, you could have defeated your opposition, but anways, I think it does find some use with Forest Ninja, since the time you use to be invisible will help the recovery...and because Forest Ninja in itself is a bit of a hit-and-run staller itself.I don't know, just...it seems so mediocre comparing to the overall character she is on either path.
---
Gotcha! |
Madhouse1 Green Sparx Gems: 450 |
#1269 Posted: 00:52:17 15/06/2012
Maybe but it is true that its the only reason stealth elf outclasses drobot. Projectile characters are usually better and if stealth elf can't get can't get in close she can't win. Free healing soul gem might not be great but it comes in handy when facing drobot because if s-elf gets behind a object to shield herself from drobot while healing if the player using drobot wants to finish the battle quickly he will have to get in close. Lights out for drobot unless he can escape with thruster flight. Yes forest ninja does have its uses and is actually a pretty cool path but doesn't compare to pbs unless you are the type of player that likes setups. Still even if free recovery doesn't heal you completely it will heal you a little and sometimes a little is all you need. Anyway dro might be the best skylander, on mb path but not on cd path.
P.S. can someone tell me how to do the skylanders emoticons, it would make this easier

I disagree. I would say that restoring a little bit of health can come in handy. I wouldn't say it's the worst. If you play PVP, you can not ignore the uselessness of Slam Bam's, Zap's, Double Trouble's, Stump Smash's etc. It doesn't help much but it does actually help unlike these abilities. For Drobot, Master Blaster is just very, very good, but I think that I'm going to try out Clockwork Dragon, since it sounds fun to play as. Obviously, it won't be nearly as strong as Master Blaster, but not a lot is.

Yes stealth elf is the best and her soul gem is useful gust because free restoring health? I mean thats beast. I makes her better then drobot (possibly) and its just so cheap. Drobot on the other hand keeps the damage he's taken, while stealth elf restores her's nicely. Can someone please tell me how to do skylanders emoticons. Thanks. Well, it depends on the quality on the player. I'm not saying this is the case, but I can use my Wrecking Ball against an inexperienced player with a stealth elf, win, and then say "Wrecking Ball can beat Stealth Elf." I'm not trying to be rude, I just don't see that as a convincing statistic.

Stealth Elf-yes, I have never beaten Sunburn with Stealth Elf, but saying that only Slam Bam and Terrafin can beat him is a complete lie. SOtF Ignitor, Shadow Dancer Cynder, Master Blaster Drobot, Sandhog Terrafin, Water Weaver Gill Grunt, Captain Crustacean Wham Shell, Slime Serpent Zap, Grand Boomerang Master Dino-Rang-every single one of them will beat Flame Lord Sunburn, every single time.

I have some other recommendations:
Warnado: Eye of the Storm is probably better, just for the mini turtles Lightning Rod: I would choose Lightning Lord; this guy can destroy slow characters like Prism Break. Sonic Boom: Medea Griffin gives sonic boom more versatility. Whirlwind: Tempest Dragon for more damage. Cynder: Shadow Dancer, just for the slowing down ghosts. I am using the Wii version. Chop Chop: Sword Path, but Chop chop is not that great anyway. Hex: Bone Crafter, as you get to cast wall of bones quicker. Ghost Roaster: Skull Master, although I am yet to try Fear Eater.

Yes but for warnado the tornado path is very useful and puts them in very good shape. Lightning lord is a option but typhoon titan helps him with his close range problem, there is really know reason to use grand lightning anyway because of its lack of power and lack of speed.

And madhouse, I dislike the tornado path because the Wind elemental upgrade cancels out the torndao control upgrade and the extend tornado upgrade. The Eye of the storm also makes Whirlwind the third character (Spyro,Drobot,Warnado) to make flying an attack.

I agree about Warnado. I tried both paths and they are both good. I personally prefer Eye of the Storm. About Lightning Rod, I wouldn't exactly say that Grand Lightning lacks power. 26 damage each time is rather good if you ask me. By the time a physical attacker gets to him, they've already taken massive damage and you can use zapper field to finish them off. Of course, this won't work on some physical attackers, ie Stealth Elf and Terrafin. Typhoon Titan is good too, but I find Lightning Rod to be better as a ranged attacker.

Channeler path. No question about it. He does incredible damage-20 a tick-and locks onto the opponent, so you can keep moving away while doing incredible damage per hit.
