Just trying to get a feel for what you all think is the best level to collect coins for upgrades? Also, best level to level up? Thanks!

Lair of kaos, i took a box stock skylander and he got all upgrades and went to level 10 in 1 hour flat!

Level-up-ing in the Lair of Kaos is super easy, particularly so if you defeat Kaos himself.
As for money...hmm...
Said level gives about 2-2.5k per complete run-through.
The only possible rival in gold is the Stone Golem, and even so...

An hour? Pssh. You can blast through there with a Level 1 Skylander in about 25 minutes. (going through twice to get to Level 10)

I usually get all the upgrades first from the Pirate Treasure in the Ruins, then go on the level and wreck things up.

Try Stonetown. Easier level than Kaos and the golem gives mega gold and xp.

Lair of kaos is the way to go. I'm on 360 version and I stop at the point where you have to get on the two platforms that take you to the other little areas.... sittin on those things takes too much time. My run takes a little over 5 min for 800 coins.

i did the exact same thing on my ps3 version, the music does get a bet tedious, but afetr about 20 minutes doing it youve got a fully upgraded level ten character, so you can put up with it for a while

Lair of Kaos is the best place (like everyone else said).

I like quicksilver vault, one you get to the magic punks they are easy to kill and give you a heap of xp, I can go from level 1 to at least level 4, and some even level 6 in one run, you also get around 1600 to 2000 in coins, This is on ps3 though, I tried my friends wii level and it didn't do the same.

Lava Lakes Railway is a good place to get some cash. The coins you collect in there are rather large. No problem getting 2 to 3 thousand in there.

I personally find the first area of Lava Lakes Railway to be the best for farming treasure. It's quick, you can gather about 2k - 2.5k in one run and there aren't too many cutscenes or obstacles to hinder you. I recently reset my Sunburn to try out the other attack pathway, and I had all his moves maxed out by level 5. All up it only took about 20 minutes, this is the method I use for gathering treasure for all my new Skylanders.

On another note, I was kind of disappointed that Moneybags only gave you treasure once after you finished the game, I was hoping it would be a sort of well where you would get 1k - 2k every time you started up the game. Oh well.
