Hey guys! I just bought the game and have almost all Skylanders and I was wondering. What are the best or whos the best Skylander to use from the start??

So over powered
I managed to kill the last boss with it, while my friend joined with a level 1 flameslinger (which only made it harder as he took almost all the food to stay alive) I not only managed to kill the boss, but quick enough that my friend managed to survive with his "baby" character

I also agree that Sonic Boom is an amazing character, strong and the babies rack mayhem! =D

If you have a fully upgraded melon farmer Camo, its hard to lose with him!

Its the first time im gonna play. I just want to have a team thats powerfull to start with.

If its the first time your going to play, pick which ever one looks most appealing to you. The first few lvls are too easy... So bust out whichever one ya like =)

I don't remember the name of it, but the one that uses his guns, not the "throwing stars" (never use them)

DROBOT: If you don't pick Master Blaster, you basically have two options. Reset him, or get your head examined. Master Blaster is among the top builds for any character in the game. Amazing at PVP; a guaranteed win against inexperienced opponents and a worthy choice for serious battles as well.

DROBOT: Master Blaster. How could you NOT want the robot dragon to have giant laser attacks. I found the Quadratic Blasters to make quick work of just about everything in the game. You can still send out the bladgears to do nice damage, but in their basic form they take care of a lot of enemies.

Lol, so in other word, Drobot is the best character regardless of path, hehe
I only have one, and doubt I'll reset him any time soon (though I might one day, as I loved playing him! =D )

Pick who you like. The game is too easy to require any specific character. It's about picking who seems like the most fun to you. ... I just hope that's not Chop Chop.

jajaja!! No, it aint Chop Chop. I went with Drobot while my gf took Cynder. Then ill go with Terrafin and she would probably use Whirlwind. But thank you all for your comments. For now I like Drobot and im going Master Blaster but Cynder is a BEAST!! My gf is having a breeze. lol

How has no one mentioned Stealth Elf yet? Stealth Elf down Pook Blade Saint is amazing, although Bash has loads of power right off the bat(40 with each hit at the very start). Pretty much all the skylanders can get you through most levels though, apart from perhaps Kaos's Lair.

I would really suggest [your favorite skylander]. Man, when you get [your favorite skylander]'s upgrade, it makes large packs of enemies so easy!
Stay away from [your least favorite skylander], they aren't good until you can grind them to max level easily.

Tashij, I've followed your opinion on so many things, why all the hate for Chop Chop?

He just doesn't live up to his promise as a character. Vampiric Warrior deals the lowest damage of any melee in the game, and his combo attacks are awkward. Bone Brambler is difficult to connect with, and doesn't deal enough damage to be worth trying. Undead Defender's shield drops under the slighted bit of punishment in PVP, leaving him vulnerable and defeating the purpose. The Shield Bash's stun effect is quite nice, but honestly, Undead Defender's damage is far worse than even Vampiric Warrior, and being up close at all just leaves you in peril when every other character deals higher numbers.

So, to sum it up...

In Story Mode (PVE): He does the lowest melee damage in the game, travels slowly, and offense beats defense.

In Battle Mode (PVP): Shield is broken (in the bad way) and drops under minimal punishment, lowest melee damage in the game persists, and he pretty much can't buy a win.

I love the way he looks. In theory, a shield-based character is quite nice. In the 3DS version, he's easily the best Undead Champion by far, so at least he has that going for him. I just can't justify picking Chop Chop in the console versions for any other reason than you really like the character. Which is fine, honestly; he gets through the game a little slower than the rest, but he still has no trouble. I don't single him out for no reason, exactly, but I'm mostly joking in the majority of my Chop Chop bashing. People can pick who they like, and whether or not they're objectively better than other characters shouldn't deter them. I use Dino Rang as my Earth Champion, knowing full-well that Terrafin is better. And Drill Sergeant for Tech, over Drobot. And Hex for Undead, over Cynder. It's not always about picking the absolute beasts if you don't like them. I might talk a lot about performance here, but that's not the only criteria I use to pick my team, and neither should it be anyone else's.

It's alright mate, I'm just teasing you. Seriously though, I appreciate your explanations on why you like or dislike characters, they're always well thought out and easy to follow. You are way more analytical than me, I tend to like characters based on their figure as much as their gameplay. My style is to usually just get in there and mash buttons like crazy until I either win or die! That might explain why I like Chop Chop and Boomer, they both facilitate that style of play (Boomer was one of the ones I resisted getting for a while, due to the ugliness of the figurine; little did I realise how much fun random dynamite explosions can be!)

Drobot. Don't bother switching unless you feel like it.
