So, someone may remember a while ago I posted about a book called Skylanders: A Spoonful of Murder that I found on various websites, including Amazon. Well, now I've found 5 more books that have appeared claiming to be official;

• Skylanders: The Doomsday Man
• Skylanders Official Sticker Book (A use for those stickers)
• Skylanders Official Annual 2013 (Seems strange to release this in August rather than the end of the year)
• Skylanders: Master Eon's Official Guide (Seems really pointless if you ask me)
• Skylanders Book of Elements: Magic & Tech (Again, seems pointless)

All are set for a 2nd of August release, just like 'A Spoonful of Murder' and all are published by a company called Sunbird.

"Spoonful of Murder"? Somehow I don't think that's legit.
I'm glad if those others are real, that they're getting some more print based stuff out. Chapter books would be really interesting to see; they work well in the kids-tweens category.

They should make chapter books (simple or not) on the Skylander's backstories

I agree. Somehow "murder" doesn't exactly sound like it should be tied to a children's game.

Sounds like it'd be related to Ghost Roaster.

That's quite cool. But I don't think i'll get them. They are probbly baby stories for little kids

I doubt I would get any of those books, but it still sounds like a cool idea! Maybe someone here will give a rundown on them.

EDIT: Eh, I wouldn't mind if they were baby books. I remember reading a few Godzilla baby books here on the internet, and they were very enjoyable. As long as there's good writing and/or good artwork, I'm fine with anything.

I would like the books from a collecting stand point!
It would be really cool if they were like those "choose your own adventure" books I read as a kid!
I think that style would fit Skylanders very well!

You would read a few pages then you would have a choice to make.... There is a fire wall blocking your path turn to page 45 if you wanna put Trigger Happy on the portal, or turn to page 16 if you wanna use Gill Grunt! haha It would fit so good with Skylanders!

Yep, that's the kind of style! It would go amazing in Skylanders, and I bet children would love it too.

Funny they do not show the cover of "the Machine of Doom" that is the one I am most curious about!

Here's information on each of the books, according from Wired.com:

Skylanders Official Sticker Book: Meet the Skylanders – A sticker book for the Skylanders world. This looks likely to be a collectible sticker book where you purchase the book and a starter set of stickers and then buy packs of stickers separately to complete the collection. I would like see this tied in with purchasing the figures themselves so that you get a few free stickers in each pack.

Machine of Doom – A Skylanders fiction book that expands on the story in the games. The idea of story books around the Skylanders characters is an interesting one.

Book of Elements: Magic & Tech – This looks to be the first of a series of books that focus on each element grouping for Skylanders figures. With a release date at the end of the year it will be important for these titles to include the giant, new and re-posed Skylanders characters in each element.

Master Eon’s Official Guide – It will be interesting to see how this strategy guide relates to Bradygames’ Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure Official Strategy Guide. It sounds like this will have more of a fiction angle on things as it will be written from the perspective of Master Eon rather than a straight up tip book. I suspect that even with this angle it won’t be worth owning both guides. At 176 pages and aimed at children eight years and older it sounds like a very similar proposition.

It should be considering it says "Kindle Edition" at the top, so you're all set.

Sounds interesting, but I'm passing. I'm sure it'll be popular with kids. I wonder if the books will sell out as fast as the figures.

It says Kindle Edition because it is on Amazon's site and that's their baby!

I hope these books will make it to my local bookshop (mainly because I have a gift card to use there, hahahah). If not, I'll get 'em online.

I bet Machine of doom will show the Arkyen plot between spyros adventure and giants.

I said th' same thing, but I want like video backstories, like how they did The Beginning trailer, or atleast in-game movies, like the all the CGI cutscenes.

The book of elements and master Eons guide look like something i'd check out. There's covers for all of them now. It'll be interesting to see how this develops!

I bought it on my kindle fire expecting it to show up in the menu and it said I had to wait til it comes out to show up on my kindle fire.

Pretty neat. I wonder if a certain chain will carry them exclusively. I don't see them selling these at say, Gamestop or Best Buy. Target has basically done away with it's magazines, so I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Walmart will have these.

Barnes & Noble'll probably have them too.

Just bought it for my Son's Kindle Fire he's getting for his birthday. I read a few pages. It seems quite good.

I wish the physical copy would come out, so I can add it to my Skylanders shrine.

I was referring to the fact that they mentioned Eon, unless it'll just be Eon in his spirit form.
