Personally I think Earth has the best overall lineup with Life being a close second. While I think Air pulled the short straw for their lineup. Don't get me wrong I love Sonic, War, and Whirl but they just can't hold a candle to some of the other elements. Earth just has all power houses with Prism Break being their weakest and he can still be a beast down the Crystalier path. What do you guys think?

Earth definitely got the champs, I fully agree. Every character in the element is good, three of four are great, and at least one is God-tier.

Honorable mention to Life, though. If Stump Smash weren't such a straggler, it would really give Earth a run for its money.

Tech has the chumps, in my opinion. Boomer and Trigger Happy are awful in both versions, Drill Sergeant is just as bad in one (Wii), and only Drobot really has any purpose battling at or near the top tier. Air has a mess of average characters though, I completely agree, but at least none of them are flat-out bad the way a few of the Techies are.

Yep..Earth definitely got a good round of characters. I think out of all of the others, Undead or Air got some pretty average characters. Honestly, even Water wasn't..amazing. (At least until I get Whammy..hoping he's good)

Wow don't think I'm stalking you simply because I quote you in two different threads....creepy I know.....but.....I actually disagree with this. I think Boomer is AMAZING. If taken down the ground pounder path, that move upgraded is cheesy as Hell. It does 100 none crit. damage as well as stuns whatever isn't obliterated by the pound. He is also super fast when upgraded with the speed upgrades. Drobot is simply a bullet hose. Drill down the dozer path does decent damage and his unlimited cheeseball bullets help clear the little guys fast as he dozes along his merry way. Triggs is interesting. I actually took him down the coin toss path and man it's a real killer. When the coin comes up heads it really rains down those numbers.

Now Air's two biggest disappointments for me were Warnado and Lightning Rod. It's simply inexcusable how bad they are. Now when I say bad I'm simply taking about a damage not overall gameplay. I also base most of a Lander's worth on the final fight with Kaos and damage numbers really matter as well as speed to adjust to getting hammered....mainly by that damn cheesy Chop-Chop at the end there. Whirl and Sonic are kind of goofy to play but put out respectable damage so I can't really pick on them. If Whirl had the means to deal with closers she would be amazing but her indirect attacks keep her from being great since she can get overwhelmed.

1.Air- I love Whirlwind,, and Lrod seriously Lrod is my strongest Ever!
8.Earth- They are all slow and bulky. I hate , , and I do like but he was so hard to find.

For me the undead are champs! The chumps are Tech.

Magic is the best of course. It has the 3 Spyro's making for 6 characters.
We ALL know the power in numbers.

Seriously though, each element has its champ with the other 3 being average or lower.

Gosh, I wouldn't say Whirlwind or Sonic Boom are chumps, they have such AoE (Area of effect) damage it's not funny.

Actually, you're right about Boomer. I was being shortsighted and only thinking of PVP, where his low HP is a big factor. However, both paths are quite capable of dealing heavy damage. Same goes for Trigger Happy, who's superb in story but a wet paper towel in terms of damage absorption in PVP. Taking into account both game modes, Air is definitely the most mediocre, although until I am able to try Wham Shell, I'd have to say Water is at least competitive in that regard.

Life would be hard competition for Earth if not for Stump Smash, who pales in comparison to Prism Break. Stealth Elf, Zook and Camo measure up fine with Terrafin, Dino Rang and Bash, though.

Mediocre champs. They don't really stand out all that much. Even in terms of AoE damage.

I would put the Life element right behind earth. N they kinda killed magic. If they wanted to involve spyro, they should have certain areas only for him.... He looks ugly and personally no fun to play with.... And theres three different spyros. And dont get me started about wrecking ball...

Owning a whopping five Skylanders (and I don't even have an Earth element yet, for shame!) I can't really rate the elements by my own hands-on experience.

Water, however, has to be the most ... diverse of them, at least in terms of accessibility. Gill Grunt is a solid character, and available from the starting booster. You can buy Zap easily enough, but many claim he's the worst of all. Slam Bam is only available through an Adventure Pack, and is reportedly average. And you still can't really find Wham-Shell anywhere!

Honors probably go to either Earth or Life, though. Once Camo becomes more commonly available, we'll see if he has what it takes to make up for Stump Smash.

Yeah this is an entirely different subject for me. I think Spyro should have been Fire and Ingitor should have been Magic. I get that Ignitor is bound by fire but he's also bound by Magic and come of Spyro not being Fire is kinda dumb. I wouldn't say they killed Magic though. Double Trouble and Voodood are HEAVY hitters. Those two as a team could take out just about anything.

Nodnod. I'm actually surprised at how they almost went out of their way to NOT give Spyro "preferred status" in this game, despite his name being in the marquee. People will use him because he's in the starter, but it doesn't sound like you'd give him the time of day if you had access to Double Trouble or Voodood.

Can't speak for anyone else, but in my house we have 3/4 Undead, so I guess they're the best for us. We wouldn't own any Water types at all if Gill Grunt wasn't included (and we kind of hate him).

This has been killing me, I'm actually ready to say life is a stronger element now....

It's close. It really is. Stealth Elf is slightly better than Terrafin, Dino Rang/Bash match up well to Zook/Camo in terms of overall worth; hard to say who's superior there. The reason I would still contend Earth as being superior all boils down to Prism Break, who isn't as good as the other three but is still extremely solid, versus Stump Smash, who is borderline useless.

Stump Smash makes a good decoy! lol Always take out the big guys first right?

All the Life Skylanders can easily take out any other element if it were a 4 on 4 battle. They have a very well balanced mixed of ranged and melee characters. The strongest has to be Camo just because of his range, with Stealth Elf second, then Zook, and lastly Stump Smash.

Water has some good characters but not as good as other elements. I can't judge Wham Shell because I do not have him yet but I say he would be a formidable opponent against other hybrid Skylanders. (by hybrid I mean ranged and melee). Zap to me is the worst character of the game. He seem like a filler because TFB ran out of character ideas. Slam Bam would have to be first, Wham Shell and Gill Grunt tied for second with Zap in dead last of all Skylanders.

i actually like air.(dont laugh) but i think warnado will be a powerhouse if taken down the spinning path . close combat use the shell spin or the flying slam attack. long range? use the tornadoes and fire the mini warnadoes! whirlwind is beast down storm cloud. can beat a drobot( proven fact by me and my friend) havmt got sboom or lrod but air is not the worst

Earth for best. All four of them are strong and fun to use.
As for worst I'd say Tech. Drobot is awesome and Trigger Happy is good but the other two fall short of the mark.

Of course I've never really done PvP much so I'm just judging them by how they preform in the main game.

These are my best organised by element then by chars in each element. I'd have to agree with the general consesus earth is Champ and Air is Chump. Although my favourites to play are generally the weaker ones.

In my opinion Earth is the strongest. Tough to pick a weakest but I'm leaning towards Air.

Water is best, Fire is worst.

They are all good.

The tech characters are my favorite honestly. People hate on Boomer but mine isn't even full upgraded and he solos Khaos. Same with trigger happy/legendary trigger happy. Drill Sergeant is pretty bad (especially on my Wii version) but Drobot is amazing! He reminds me of playing a NES airplane shooter when he hovers and blasts lasers everywhere.

Lackluster for me? Undead.
Ghost Roaster on the Wii does like no damage with his skull attack. Chop chop is boring with his hack'n'slash gameplay and no real special moves that stick out. Hex is alright but her bone walls are 'eh'. Cynder is badass though!

I'm sad about all the hate for Zap. Taken down the Slime Serpent path, he has his moments...
In single player it's fun to bait the enmies towards him whilst spreading slime all over the battlefield, and then standing back to pick off the enemies who get stuck in the slime with blasts of lightning.
In PvP you can use him to score sneakey wins against unsuspecting opponents by playing keep-away, spreading slime as you dash across the arena and occasionally making cheeky hit-and-run strikes from range with his lightning blasts.

I agree with Kirby. Every element has its strengths and every one has it's weaknesses. Dino isn't the best, and Stump is über slow. And Cynder is a power house on 3ds. Hex is a nice character on both, and Ghost Roaster is a moderate. Drobot is beast and Drill can be good. Boomer is awesome too.
So, no element has chumps, no element has champs.

^ This. People who consider Zap anywhere close to the game's worst characters just haven't played him enough. He's quick in Story, and his damage isn't an issue. In PVP, he may not be king of the BEEG NUMBARZ, but his playstyle is actually really cheap, and he can erode foes he really has no business beating on a relatively consistent basis. I wouldn't put him near the top, but come on, he's clearly in a whole different league from the real stragglers. Don't let his numbers fool you, Zap is a finesse character. Probably not the best Water champion, but there's not as much wrong with him as the general consensus seems to believe.

To me, the true extent of a useless character is whether or not you would ever want to put them on the portal. Are there some things that Zap does better than any other Water champion? Sure are. He's by far the fastest, and there are certain PVP characters he does a better job with than the rest of his element. Water champions generally have a hard time beating Bash, but Zap pretty much takes that one every time. This is not the only "trouble" character he's good with, either. People tend to look for one dominant character, because some elements have one, and it's natural to want to look for "the Drobot of Water," even though there isn't one.
