I'd like to issue an apology to Game. [CLOSED]

I wouldn't have it any other way. Trust me. I streaked once, outside of a dance club, just to draw attention. Once security saw me, though, I bounced.

I love being the laughing stock. Then again, I love being put on the news at whatever chance I get, or love it when all eyes are on me, as I do something totally sporadic.

That's what's always made me, me.

Wow you guys just WOW!!!! Why can't you guys just take Tash's stance and be mature about this. It's between Monsi and GM GM shouldn't have dragged this out but he's finally begun the process of paying Monsi...let it die. Xero why all the hostility man. I thought you said you'd lay off? Plus this entire thread started as an apology to GM from Vendetta so if you don't have anything directly related to say regarding to that issue why post...it just makes whoever posts here look like a troll that's picking on GM. Let's just remain a little civil so we don't scare off new people here shall we?

Opinions are subjective. Rarely are opinions truth, because said opinion is in the eye of the beholder. Opinions are subject to each individual. So, whatever truth you think you came to, is only in your eyes, or in the eyes of you and anyone who agrees with your opinion. It won't be everyone, however, which means it's subjective. smilie

Where do you come up with this stuff GM? It's some of the funniest stuff I've ever read. I think you believe when you speak you sound intelligent. But in reality it comes off as a guy who doesn't have a clue. You'd think you'd get the hint that people think you're a tool shed. I mean...go to show off your toys at a store, slide on your sunglasses and walk out...really? You're that guy in the mall with shades on, aren't you? Yep...yes you are. HAHAH... You should write a script for your life. The Life and Times of David Kirkham: Skylanders or Bust! I'm sure it would be great. I'd pay to see a reality show of your life. I think you should pitch it to Lifetime. smilie

EDIT: and I only respond because it keeps my day entertaining in between my part runs. If I didn't poke the bear...I wouldn't get a reaction. smilie And what fun would that be...and you know he'll react...he has to...how can he not? lol

The thing is that this thread is more than simply about a debt of $10 - it discusses people's opinions of GM.

There is discussion on his tendency to brag and how he portrays himself in this forum.

I am surprised that noone has raised the following:

1/. He lives in a house owned by his mother.

2/. He has a job because his parents gave him one. It is obviously not important as he has bragged on multiple ocassions that he can spend a significant portion of the day hunting for toys.

3/. He claims to be a script writer but has not provided proof of anything he has actually sold. Heck, I am the next Tolstoy but I haven't sold my novel yet...

4/. He has kids but is not married - not such a big deal in these modern times but if I had done that, my father would have whooped my arse for not "manning up".

For the record, he is not the bigger person to finally pay up, Mons was the bigger person by actually dropping this some time ago. There has not been a reference to the debt for some time now and Mons had basically moved on.

It was only mentioned in this thread as it was on-topic and pertinent to the conversation.

The bottom line is if you do not wish to read discourse on people's opinions of GM, then this is not the thread for you.

BTW, for the record my wife is not a model - she is fully functional and not made of plastic... (Boom tish!)

Ah ok. The two I've memorized for singles is 92 is Cynder/Drill Sergeant/Whirlwind and 104 for that weird sub-wave with Stump Smash and some of the older ones.

Actually saw some Ignitor singles at the Best Buy by me. Stealth Elf too. Sadly no Camo or Wham Shell....

Got really lucky with that Warnado a week ago.

Where do you work, Vendetta? I asked a lady at Target to look on her cases of singles, for 101097 (Walmarts Camo assortment), and she said that number was nowhere on the case. So, that's what leads me to believe it is Walmart only, as someone else stated here.

Toys R Us. I found my Warnado at Gamestop however.

I think that number is the SKU number. I want the Sub-Assembly number. If you notice on the side of the boxes they come in, it has a sub-assembly number.

Every single box I've ever opened with the Sub-Assembly number ending in 92 has been the following six.

Cynder/Whirlwind/Drill Sergeant/Flameslinger/Chop Chop and one other I forget.

I wanna try and find out what Camo/Warnado's sub-assembly number is.

You're over-generalizing. Obviously I did want to read the topic, otherwise I wouldn't have clicked. There were plenty of statements I could have picked out aside from the bet if, indeed, those bothered me in any way. They don't. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and opinions aren't what I came here to debate. That $10 bet has been forum cancer since its inception, and I'm tired of it bleeding over into other topics. Namely, every topic in which GM and Monsinour encounter one another in any way. The bet thing isn't an opinion at all, it's just annoying, everyone who brings it up is annoying, and I'm tired of being annoyed by it. I'm not the only one. The GM war on the forum will never disappear until GM is gone, but if we can get rid of the bet thing, and I can stop seeing it derail perfectly good threads just because GM and Monsi happen to be posting in them, then I count the forum a better place for it. We've gone through three waves of Skylanders since that bet was made, and yet somehow it continues to poison topics. It has to end, because no one cares anymore. Actually, I doubt they ever did. The bet between these two was never cute or funny, and should've been PM'd from the start.

#79 Posted: 01:05:20 20/04/2012
Was the whole $10 thing getting beyond a joke? You bet it was. It was even getting on my goat.

But please point out a thread (other than this one, of course) in the recent past where Monsinour baited GM about it as I have not seen one.

Mons let it slide some time ago - in my opinion that is when he showed he could be the bigger man. He was a tad childish about the thing at the beginning but maturity did set in.

I also perceive that if it had of been anyone else, he would not have gone on about it. I feel that due to GM's character/persona, Mons baited him mercilessly as noone likes a braggart.

The main issue is other people not shutting up about it. It's beyond Monsi and GM. It needs to be paid to stop all mention of it. I'm not here to take sides. Regardless of whether or not Monsi let it go, the forum as a whole hasn't, and that's why it needs to be paid.

I'm still waiting on him to post his Paypal, by the way. I agree with the PM thing. He started doing things the PM way, but spilled it onto the forums for whatever reason. Who cares, honestly. I just wished he would hurry and post his Paypal addy. However, don't think this will all end, Tash, as soon as I pay. Here, I will quote what someone wrote to me in a PM.

"There are just so many jealous trolls that just post to try to get a rise out of you here, how do you stand it? I'm not saying I'm not guilty of bringing your name up (one of the costs of being the most popular/infamous person on the boards), but I can't think of a time I've done it and it not being done in obvious jest or in humor, I don't try to pick fights. ...so how can you stand it? It's not like you're even starting it in most cases."

Notice where this person states that people troll just to get a rise out of me here? This person is right. It won't stop. The payment will be one thing, but then certain people will keep it going in other forms. I don't mind nerdy internet attacks, but still, if you think the immaturity ends at the payoff of a bet, you're dead wrong. From what I've gathered, this kind of stuff had been happening since before I ever came here. It doesn't bother me, though. I just pity them, laugh, and read away.

And Xero, obviously you've never been to Vegas. Some actually go there and don't stay indoors long enough to take off their sunglasses. Silly man. That's why I love ya, but not in that way. smilie

The payment won't end it, but it will end one aspect of it. It'll get rid of a lot of the animosity that's sprung from the bet, and a lot of the people who aren't jealous trolls and see this as an issue of integrity off your back.

Naw, keep your hostility. The man is a welch and a totally unfit human being. I have yet to get my $ that is owed to me. I know I will never see it. Karma will see to it that he gets what is coming to him.

[User Posted Image]

Monsinour is officially my favorite member in the Skylanders sections.

What Gamemaster seems to not notice is how he simply spends money on Skylanders and thinks that he deserves a ****ing medal for it. Then he buys duplicates for no reason. Oh wait, no. He's buying dupes so he can sell them to unfortunate parents that need to calm down their spoiled brats. So they'll go and spend extra money on shipping instead of waiting for the stores to restock. Yep, he's a good person alright. Though Gamemaster doesn't want to admit it, he's technically being a scalper. He's simply just not charging as much as others. That doesn't make him a good person.

Oh but noooooo, he's spending his money on gas and such for Skylanders. Nobody asked him to. Why not spend that money on something better? Like rent? You can't possibly make enough money to spend this much on Skylanders unless you somehow hit the lotto. Or maybe you can spend that money on food, clothing, better games (Skylanders is good, but not THAT good).

And then he waltzes into the forums, expecting to be thought of as the greatest person to ever walk into darkSpyro, even though he seems too scared to bother with the other sections of the forums. Why don't you bother with other sections Gamemaster? You scared you're gonna get knocked off your high horse and into reality when you realize that you spent all this time and money on plastic toys that will serve no purpose to you in the long run?

Maybe you just have fun making all these people think you're the greatest. If only they stepped out of the Skylanders sections and realized that there's a whole other world of people. People that have been on this site for years and know better than to spend time hunting for toys.

Because at the end of the day, I want you to give me a logical reason for spending that much money on Skylanders, and duplicates. I don't want to hear any of that "IT'S MY MONEY I'LL SPEND IT ON WHATEVER I WANT" ****, because that isn't really logical thinking, more than it is a cop-out. Kinda like saying "I JUST DO, LEAVE ME ALOOOOONE".

Whatever you said about GM before is probably somewhat valid. Besides, you shouldn't have to go and completely pull a 180 because a bunch of people are calling you a troll (when you aren't).

Also, Gamemaster, I can already see you typing up a "OH NO HE'S MAD WATCH OUT FOR PONIES" comment, ready to post it and act like the cool kid. But in reality, you know that all you're doing is dancing around a subject that you should really think about. You aren't cool by posting those kind of comments. You're just avoiding the idea that what you've been doing with Skylanders is a waste of time and money. And I'll bold this paragraph just in case you feel like skimming because you're too lazy to listen to anyone that isn't praising you.

If you want to respond, feel free to drop me a PM, since I know people don't want to hear me talk against the almighty Gamemaster. I'm available any time.

It is indeed what it is.

I didn't accuse you of throwing it around too often but how else was I supposed to take your response to my prior comment? You seemed to have some biting remarks at least to what I said, and it seemed you did not understand how I meant it. I was simply referencing this, that's all.

Rated Hex? Boom tish!

Anyway...

I will stick up for GM wrt some of his activities. It is really no one else's business what a person spends their dosh on as long as no one gets disadvantaged. He would be the first to say that it is not entirely rational.

Heck, I am also guilty of spending too much on this and I know of quite a few others. We would all merrily throw our arms up in the air and exclaim that we are guilty of irrational behaviour.

That said, I am not one with buying so many of each item. I think that does disadvantage other prospective purchasers.

Maybe instead of buying multiples of each, he could have gotten himself a Pearl Hex for a moderately reasonable price. I know of someone who just got one for around $210, including shipping. Yes, crazy to some but in the order of magnitude for what GM (and admittedly I) paid for gold variants.

As for the "scalping" thing, I also cry foul. GM has on multiple occasions eaten the shipping cost. But, once again, buying that many items does not sit well with me as it could disadvantage others.

So GM, if you want to "stop the hate" then maybe some introspective reflection is required. Maybe less boasting, especially when you often introduce the bragging when it is not even relevant (model fiance, trip to Vegas, yadda, yadda, yadda).

Is it because you are insecure with your lot in life? Does living in your mother's house and having your parents provide you with a job eat at you and this is how you compensate? Honestly, I know it would to me...

I know a few people who have spent ludicrous money on this and other pursuits as well - including me. However, we don't see the need to brag incessantly.

To make a point I will:

1/. I bought a house for my mother to live in, not the other way around.

2/. For quite some years I have taken my family (now 2 adults, 4 kids) on an overseas trip each year. Last year it did not happen due to work commitments but the prior year I took them on 2.
2a/. The plan for this year is New York (much more expensive when coming from Australia, remember) with the intention of taking the MIL to act as a part-time babysitter. I will pay for her entire trip, including all shows she wishes to see.

3/. I live in a house worth 3/4 million dollars (in a deflated property market) with a pool and tennis court. The mortgage remains at $20K as I would be charged a fee if I finalise it.

4/. My kids attended a private school where tuition cost me $26K/year (and only for 3 of them as #4 is still a toddler)

Anyway, enough... You hopefully get the point - at the end of the day I put my pants on one leg at a time and I eat/sleep/poop like all others (well, I don't sleep as much, but that is by the by).

It is not worth boasting all of the time and it only serves to distance yourself from others.

Chaos, thanks for - somewhat - sticking up for me. However, you need to read my posts better. Ever since I started screenwriting as a profession, I have learned the trait of being very descriptive. I never mentioned my fiancee being a model did I? Didn't I mention the receptionist/model I went to Vegas with, in a story about how I was robbed? That's not boasting. That's telling a story, at the request of someone who asked.

My fiancee was a model. So was I. I stopped, because it wasn't my thing. I am a writer (and hopeful director). However, the only thing model related, I remember mentioning, was how I was hanging out with one at a time she and I went to Vegas, because I was to be a writer on a gameshow, and she was to be the host. It didn't pan out, however. That's just stating facts in the context of the story I told in another post.

As for the buying a house for my mother thing. Since my mother was kind enough to let me live here, whereas at the time I had poor credit (almost perfect now) and couldn't get into a mortgage, I offered to build her a house. She refused. I will probably do it for my grandmother instead. smilie

Point is, that's the first time I mentioned it. I could have "boasted" about it long ago. Did I? Nah.

People take my words out of context all the time. Perhaps those same people do it with others, on other forums, or even in the outside world. That's their problem, not mine. However, you should read my posts a bit better, with the understanding that I am a very descriptive person, so you will - for future reference - know that I am not here to boast.

Heck, I have even said others collections - despite being small - are just as good as mine and anyone elses here, where others just don't comment on the small collections of others at all. I'm not saying it to patrionize them, either. I truly mean it. However, saying something to praise their small collections, is better than saying nothing. There is no boasting in that. smilie

So again, thanks. However, you have to see who attacks, like I do. Then you need to see the constant PM's I get from people who have nice things to say, while wondering why those attackers act a fool. It's not coincidence that everyone thinks ill of them and their so called "opinions." It's just making a point that only a small handful are doing it, and it's always the same ones. Those people aren't the ones you take seriously on a forum (forums shouldn't be serious business anyway).

As I stated to CAV in a PM, go look at my posts on neogaf, here -

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/sh...=448687&page=23

I started posting around then. I've since helped many there, as well as contribute. Notice it always stays mature there. How can there be issues when everyone is acting like an adult? There can't be. That's why I don't take certain people here seriously. However, everyone in PM's to me seem to agree with each other, while not knowing it. They say it's all out of jealousy. I don't know what it is. I just post here. I can't please everyone, nor will I try. No one will please everyone in life. It's simply impossible. There's always a critic in there somewhere. smilie

HA! Clever.

Regarding your 2a, you will love it here! I'd suggest not spending too much time in Times Square though because it's usually quite crowded but it is the toursit hot spot anyways. I mean yeah Broadway shows in the theater distract are awesome but then there's the Major Toys'R'Us with a Ferris Wheel(!!!), T-Rex animatronic thingy and a small arcade (not very big and it's quite hidden but it was ok to pass the time a bit especially since there are barely any arcades and ones that allow youngins) and down the block a nice and big Disney store with cute stuff.

Part of the reason I wanted to be a screenwriter, was to use the money to see the world. Well, the parts that won't land you blown up or decapitated.

Manhattan is my first destination. I've always wanted to go to Times Square to celebrate New Years, as well as visit Toys R Us and Nintendo World Store. That's not all, though. Broadway, Liberty Island, Empire State Building, and just take in the sites. Can't wait.

To clarify - I meant two separate boasts. Some time ago you went on about your fiance being a model and in this thread you raised the Vegas thing. Neither were entirely pertinent to the conversation.

Please take the time to examine that there have been quite a few people who have raised issue here; some de-lurking to do so.

When you get that feedback a rational person would ask themselves if they are the "problem" rather than merely deflecting that everyone else are the problem/s.

Hey, I actually like you to a fair degree and I, for one, am merely trying to help.

A giant tip for a prospective writer is to be able to examine things from multiple perspectives; it helps with character motivation in stories. As such, please try to see it from another person's perspective, you:

Continually mention your great collections

Raise prideful statements on a regular basis, even when not relevant to the topic of discussion

Sound insincere when you mention that all collections no matter how small are good. I am 98.34976784364% sure that you are indeed sincere in that but it does not come across that way.

Remember, criticism is just one of the services I offer. Grin!

Actually, Chaos. My post about being in Vegas, was very relevant. When in Vegas, only the gamblers are indoors 24/7, if not casino bouncing to find the machine that will hit.

I took that pic with Spongebob, which was in the Excalibur Hotel, as I was on my way out the door. My son took the pic, my fiancee and two daughters were walking up behind him.

So, he thought to say something stupid about me wearing glasses indoors. I just clarified WHY I was wearing them indoors. So, it was very relevant.

Look, this is stupid. We are on a forum explaining and venting and doing stupid ****, when this has to do with Skylanders. Someone has to put an end to it. I will be that person.

I don't owe any explanations, and I know people will always assume what they want. Some here know I don't boast, while others think I do. That's the glory of opinions. However, I won't explain my actions on a forum dedicated to Skylanders talk. smilie

Infact, now that Vendetta apologized, which I appreciate and think he was a real man about it, he should close this thread, because it has gotten so crazy, that it's cluttering the forum with a bunch of fingerpointing and mudflinging.

I went around the world on my honeymoon, nigh on 13 years ago. I was on crap money back then but the plan was to always go to either West End or Broadway; in the end a around the world ticket was not much more. We saw 3 shows in NY and 3 in London. My only regret was that we did not see some shows as they were supposed to come to Oz but never did and we did see a few which did come and we probably could have skipped them in favour of the others.

But, yeah, of all the places we visited on that trip (13 countries in 30 days and many cities) NY was by far my favourite!

PSHHH! The Ferris Wheel > everything in Nintendo World.

I liked Nintendo World better when it was The Pokemon Center. Now, there's only like a wall section for Pokemon. Though the Pokedolls are of fine quality there! I love my Tepig pokedoll. &hearts

Oh hai CAV! Was wondering when you would arrive. Thats what, 2 - 3 times i have been nominated as your favorite person in this section?

@ GM : i PMed you the addy to send to months ago. I would imagine you just deleted it as you never had any intention to pay the debt.

@ Tashiji : I knew i didnt like you but I couldnt put my finger on why. Now I get it. The sense of entitlement, hoity toity sense of superiorism, and just plain you. Ta-Ta

Look. I commented that the hatred should be held against this person (cant even call you a man anymore GM) as it was deserved. It seems that more have hated on you since I stopped posting here on a regular basis. I am also well aware that on the other boards people dislike you just as much as on these forums. Doing a google search on your multiple screen names brings out the fact that you are a braggart. The putrid attempts to make yourself "better" than others serves no purpose in life. People have a great device built in to their brains. The problem is, not everyone can take full utilization of their BS detectors. As soon as I stumbled upon your "shrine to plastic" I knew you were not worth anyone's time. I said that thing was not a "man cave" and no real man would ever call a room full of toys a "man cave." Since then, my BS meter has been pegged whenever you opened your mouth.

Does it bother me how you spend your $? nope, a fool and his $ are soon parted. Does it bother me that you do not spend a dime for living accomodations? Nope, i certainly wish i could live such a cushy life. Does it bother me that your mom & dad have handed you just about everything? Nope, this is their doing and their fault for not teaching you responsibility. (the proof in this statement is the children, not child mind you, out of wedlock) Does it bother me that you have 5 of every figure when there are people struggling to get at least one of each element? Hell yea. I have run into many parents at stores where I hear their stories about kids not having the figures to unlock all the areas. When asked how many i have, I shy away from telling them how many I have and I certainly do not tell them about the variants I have. Basically, people dont hate on you GM for your collection or how you spend your money or where you live and work, People hate on you for your personality, your arrogance, and your complete disregard of other's opinions. I will PM you again the paypal addy.
